I have been a "guest" here for quite some time, reading along in the forums, so I already feel like I know a lot of you.
I finally decided to join since I do have opinions I want to throw in here and there.
I'm already expecting a good amount of thumbs down and red x's, but oh well, I really didn't come here to be a people pleaser.
If I pick up a few good friends along the way then great, but most likely I will step on toes and yeah, some of those egos, er I mean toes are going to get sore and bruised.
Oh well, can't please everyone.

Nice to meet you and so glad to have you joining the fellowship here at CC:) Make sure you read the Terms of Service at the bottom of the page. Some people get banned because they let something get their goat and lose it. There is an 'Ignore' button that you can use to cool-it with someone , lol. Also, the report button is there to use if you feel bullied. Otherwise, I'm sure you'll have a blessed time here(y) God bless you and your family!

Your intro post was quite defensive. Before anyone even had a chance to push back on anything you said, you were already preparing for battle, it sounded like.

You stir the drink on occasion. I do too. But, you can mention that casually, as PART of a larger introduction about who you are, what your interests / hobbies are, maybe a little bit about your testimony, etc.

Just my 2 cents (well, maybe nickel now, the way inflation's been going).

You will fit right in here, especially in the Bible Discussion Forum. I've had a few thumbs down and red x's too. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

But, let none of us forget the logs in our own eyes... err, toes on our own feet.

Well, there's a lot to be said about that statement.

God is the most important one to please. But, if you don't please people, you won't have any people in your life.

Also depends on why all this pleasing is taking place. Are you kissing butts and compromising your integrity? Or, are you gracious but honest with your brethren? Or, are you self-righteous and mistaking your toe-stomping for failing to see the log in your own eye?

Really depends. You should not care about pleasing people -- for the right reasons and in the right way. Jesus said He came to bring a sword, but at the same time we are to be humble peace-makers, too.

Some people don't like peace-makers. lol

Well,
thank you all for the welcomes.

I'm not the best at expressing myself in this way (on forums, through writing).. But we are in critical times and there are way to many who claim to be "Christian" (and by the way I really don't like that term  - to many people through it around and call themselves such when they don't walk in the Spirit or bear any fruit), so if it sounds like I'm walking with claws out, and looking for battle, well we are caught in such a spiritual battle at this point of history, and I don't pussy foot around.

I'll try and keep them (the claws) tucked away.......
but no promises ;)

I was in a chat site last night talking to a young woman (about half my age) who obviously had no problem with an older man. She asked me if I came to the site to "play". I told her 'no', and referred to my screen ID, "Christian Man". She said she's a Christian too, but likes sex. I then reminded her that if she's a Christian, she has to bear fruit as one, and subject her body to the Lord.

Well, she then accused me of preaching to her. I reminded her that she had made a statement about her beliefs, and I responded in kind. Perhaps she was convicted, I don't know. But, the conversation proved the point made above, that people think being a Christian means believing Jesus existed or celebrating Christmas. But, as I tried to tell this woman last night, it's a whole heck of a lot more than that. Too bad it didn't seem to make much difference.
