Yes, man can resist the Spirit, but not entirely. That's why the elect are saved, because God overcomes their resistance by HIS omnipotence, and by HIS grace God gifts the elect with salvation and faith. .

Anyone can choose to have faith. That’s why we are to share the Gospel, to give people the opportunity to hear it so they can make a decision.

The Pharisees entirely rejected the counsel of God.

The gift is not faith, the gift is salvation by faith. God wants everyone to have faith, He wants everyone to be saved.

Yes, most do entirely reject the counsel of God. By me saying "but not entirely", I was referring to the fact that the elect do not reject the counsel of God. Therefore, not entirely or not everyone.

The gift is salvation and faith. Otherwise, Paul's next statement "not of yourselves" would be a lie, because your claim that you came to faith on your own means you were responsible for God saving you.

Now ask yourself: How long after first hearing the Word of God did I finally surrender myself to Christ's sovereign authority and become born again?

Paul saying “not of yourselves” means we aren’t saved by our works, but by our faith.

Everyone determines their own future. God saves people who make the decision to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, something anyone can decide to do.

I still can’t answer. I was saved decades ago.

Paul saying "not of yourselves" is referring to the antecedent gifts of salvation and faith and inability of anyone to have them apart from God's grace. The texts support this.

The elect are predestinated to be, and indeed will be, saved.

The church is the body of Christ. The body of Christ consists of all believers. All believers in Christ are predestinsted elect. The elect in Christ are the church.

I can’t say. My guess would be my early teens. Could be wrong, though. I know for certain that I was saved by my early 20s.

I’m 68 now.

The elect are people who decided to believe. Anyone can become an elect.
