There's a simple answer to this question. If you think that the 4th commandment isn't binding anymore, then you also have to believe that all of the commandments aren't binding anymore, but that can't be true because Jesus Himself kept the commandments including the fourth one. He observed the Sabbath. Since we are to follow his example, it seems logical that we should keep the Sabbath as well.
God bless you all, love and peace to all of you.

On a different Christian Forum site, there is a group of Seventh Day Adventists who create thread after thread on the Sabbath and seem to be absolutely obsessed with the Sabbath, even to the point of turning it into an idol. The prophet of the Seventh Day Adventist church (Ellen G White) taught that the 7th day Sabbath is the Seal of God, and worshipping God on Sunday instead of Saturday is the Mark of the Beast.

For an Adventist to give up the Sabbath, it's essentially giving up salvation. The false gospel they preach culminates in "salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works." (Galatians 1:6-9) Beware of anyone who promotes this ludicrous doctrine and perverted gospel!
Hi, I'm an Adventist myself. I do agree that the Sabbath shouldn't be made into an idol, but it is still important. God gave us the Sabbath so that we would remember creation and so that we would overwork ourselves throughout the course of the week. There's Biblical evidence to what Ellen G. White said about The Mark of God and the mark of the beast, and I'd be happy to provide you with it. Not to say that the only was to be saved is through keeping the Sabbath, the Bible makes it clear that salvation is through faith in Christ. But it is important that we observe it as it is one of the commandments of God.
Peace and love to you, God bless.

The reason why it seems like Seventh-day Adventists are obsessed with the Sabbath is because it seems like everyone has forgotten about it, and even more dangerously, a lot of people observe Sunday as the Sabbath instead. This is dangerous, because the Pope himself admitted that the true Sabbath is Saturday and that the Roman Catholic church changed it because they have the authority of God. If you look it up, I'm sure that you will find it. I'm not trying to condemn your beliefs or anything, I'm just offering what is said in the Bible. If you would like me to share the biblical passages that support this, I'd be more than happy to. God bless you and lots of love to you.

Sabbath is for the Jews. In the church age there is no jews or gentiles. We walk in the spirit and in truth. Jesus is our sabbath.
Sabbarh is actually not for only Jewish people. Just like the ten commandments are for all of us, so is the Sabbath.

Jesus Himself observed Sabbath, and we are called to follow His example.

Jesus healed on the Sabbath because He has authority over the Sabbath. There are laws like sabbath and strict diets that apply only to the Jews but there are laws that also apply to the church like you shall not kill because Jesus' new law is love your neighbour as you love yourself. Following the sabbath is works salvation. God is not impressed with works because He did the ultimate work on the Cross. Only faith can please God. Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Yes that's very true. Without faith that there is no way to please God. But if you're gonna say that the Sabbath is not valid then you have to disregard all of the commandments.

You can't pick and choose which of God's laws to keep. You either keep all of them or keep none of them. If God only wanted Jewish people to observe the Sabbath, He would've added that in the commandment.

Our works are filthy rags to God. There is no need to brag to God that you follow the sabbath. The book of Romans explains that the church is not under the law. We don't break the law but establish the law through faith.

I'm don't mean to brag about following the Sabbath, I'm only saying that it's a biblical practice. There are a multitude of Bible verses supporting this fact. Jesus Himself observed it. It's in the ten commandments. If the church isn't under the law then what's the point of Christianity?

This article also explains whether we are still under the law or not.

Yes for the Jews faith with no works is dead. Are the SDA's jews?

Rightly divide the word. The books of Romans to Philemon are directed to the Church. Other books are for the Jews. Some scriptures are applied to a different time period and a different group of people.

All I know is that whatever is in the Bible is for us. You can't pick and choose what to believe in the Bible and what not to believe. God says anyone who adds or takes away from the Bible is cursed. You either believe all of it or none at all. God bless.

"I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book." Hebrews 4: 9,10 “There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His.”

Now, in Christ, our Sabbath rest is a way of life, not just 1/7 of a man’s time. A man, having died to himself, also died to the requirements of the law. A man in Christ is a man in Sabbath rest, for God/Christ is currently at rest. A man who says Sabbath is 1/7 of his time in not at rest at least 6/7 of his time. For God lives through the man in Christ and God is currently at rest in the Sabbath.

As long as what she says doesn't disagree with the Bible, I have no problems with her. The Word of God is my authority. God bless brother, and peace and love to you.
