Veggies, covid vax believers and now global warming cheerleaders. This planet has had a climate cycle for who knows how long. Anyone remember global cooling in the 90's? People really need to shut off the news and go outside and enjoy the weather before it gets cold. And trust me, its going to get cold.
There is a lot of misinformation and lack of understanding of the term "global warming," which is unfortunate, and perplexing, too, that some make claims that seem to amount to them believing man has no deleterious effect on our environment and/or ecology. Denying that man has an effect on our environment seems foolish. The warming that is happening is at the poles, where the ice caps are experiencing phenomenal shrinkage, glaciers are retreating and disappearing at remarkable speeds, and the degradation of Greenland's permafrost continues. These changes affect ocean currents, which in turn affect our climate.
I watched a documentary on the life of David Attenborough a while ago. He has spent the majority of his life exploring the natural wonders of our world, documenting its beauty and diversity, as well as changes over time. It is called David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet, and is "a powerful first-hand account of humanity's impact on nature and a message of hope for future generations." David Attenborough is now into his nineties, and started his explorations of the natural world while quite young. Over the passage of time depicted, which is many decades, a counter shows the population growth alongside the shrinking of wildlife (both flora and fauna) and the increase of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. David Attenborough also narrated (and wonderfully so) a very recent spectacularly photographed eight episode documentary on our planet called Our Planet, which was four years in the making. It has been made available on youtube; I would highly recommend it to any and all

Arent they an island surrounded by sea. Do they not have marine resources...fish, seaweed to eat?
Sandy dry places like Australia are now incorporating permaculture practices to enhance food security..nut trees grow especially well in the arid areas.
I recall that british plant hunters from the Kew gardens would go to Madagascar especially to collect rare (to them) plants to put in their expensive glasshouses, so much so they practically denuded Madagascar of cycads. They didnt then exchange plants the Madagasgans needed they just took plants for themselves.

The thing about this is, there was a global climate accord held not all that long ago. With that in mind, we are now as a species evolved enough in our warped ego's and technology as to be able to fully play god. Even with the weather.

When a government outlaws the traditional "Edison" style lightbulb, and plastic bags, you know their mastering the illusion you're a citizen of a Constitutional Democratic Republic, is no longer a façade worth their time. Because they know we'll do nothing to stop them.
Ive wondered who decided this stage of climate change is a bad thing. Its been changing since creation. Im guessing people invested in "green" energy have decided this is an emergency. Not to mention these same people think big oil is evil. Of course any successful venture is evil to some. Im sure big tax increases will stop the calamity and save us all.
well spare a thought for those who live on islands that are going to be flooded by climate change.

Really? I live on the coast. High tide at a full moon there is a road that floods for an hour, but I haven't seen a single house removed and pulled down.
No, I just assumed that "sea level" was "sea level" and if the ocean rose it would rise everywhere in the world. Perhaps the ocean does not act as a liquid? Also I live a little in from the coast so I do travel on roads that are sea level my house is about 50-100 feet above sea level. I would suggest that those who live in Tuvalu also put their houses 50 feet above sea level. But since this tiny island nation doesn't have any land that is 50 feet above sea level it seems like it must have been a very precarious place for them to live. Hurricane Ida has a predicted storm surge that would be higher than the island.
But it is an interesting concept, we have people living on a precarious little piece of land that any time a large hurricane hits their island directly has the potential to sweep across the island. What should we do? (Not what should they do?) Well let's see? We could raise the level of the island, they could offer to take construction waste (rocks and debris from these recent floods all over the world) and raise their Island by about 30 feet. Then rebuild their houses on top. Might be a project in excess of $100 million. Or they could move to higher ground, again a project that would probably cost $100 million. Or we could give a waitress from the Bronx $10 trillion to change the light bulbs in the US hoping this protects them from future hurricanes. Decisions, decisions.
