I was going through Genesis and a though suddenly crossed my mind. The Bible describes the fruit eating process in a way that suggests the height of Adam and Eve was four times the height the men of today.
From general knowledge is that the fruits of most trees are usually located at the top most apex of the tree, for example a mango tree which is mature might measure around more than 10 metres. Now if we assume the tree that Adam and Eve ate from were of the same height as the Mango tree and also the fruits being on top of the tree then if Adam was able to reach and pluck without climbing, then the impression of a giant is created.
**Second Proof that they were giants**

I want you to look at the time God allowed the pre flood generations to live on earth. Adam himself lived on earth for more than 800 years, in modern day that's a whole millenium, Adam was created a mature man, he was never an infant, only to God lol. Now lets take a look at Methuselah who lived for 969 years, Methuselah's case is different because he was born and was an infant. Do you want to tell me that someone will grow from being an infant and age at 969 years at the height of the men of today? I don't think so.
The more years they lived, so did they grow and grow because they were eating so they were simply giants.
After men sinned and God pained in his soul that his spirit will not remain in man for more than
120 years, then the life span of a human being was reduced and so did the height.
Because before the youth of a generation that came directly from Adam would begin at 200 years as a minimum for the case of Methuselah.

Adam was never going to fight dragons and dinosaurs with the stature of the men of today, he simply was a giant to equal a potential threat to the dinosaurs and dragons.

That was a LOT of assuming on your part.

We have two kinds of fruit trees in our backyard and NEITHER of them grow fruit at the apex. There are low hanging fruits we can easily reach (at 5'8" tall), some we can reach by climbing up into the branches, and others that are further up that require a ladder. I think Adam was intelligent enough to craft something to help him reach the higher growing fruits. Or maybe he left those for the animals that needed them and could reach. Like birds or monkeys.

The only creature I know that continues to grow year by year are reptiles. Namely, alligators and crocodiles. I doubt man continued to grow taller and taller for 900+ years. It's more likely that once people were done going through puberty, much like today, they stopped growing.

There are still people groups that get pretty tall. There was a Russian foreign exchange student that came to our class in middle school, who was only 15 but already almost 7 feet tall. He said his 12 year old brother was as tall as he was. So while man may have started out at 8-10 feet tall, over time and with the deterioration of the human genome with each generation, it makes sense people would get shorter and weaker. Not to mention the adaptations the human body went through when they scattered after Babel.

Yahweh only said he would limit the lifespan of man, not his height. It isn't wise to add to what He said.

The original purpose of dragons (or what is now called dinosaurs) couldn't have been for Adam to fight or conquer, as there was no death. There was no need, in the beginning, for him to protect himself or Eve in that fashion. After the fall, sure. He would then have to keep predators at bay. But they weren't a threat at first.

So you agree that they were giants?

Maybe. Or Adam and Eve could have been around 5' tall when Yahweh created them.

Or it could have been that giants came into being when the Nephilim did their thing.

I don't think we can know for sure.

No one knows except God. I have a lemon tree. The fruit is easy to pick. I had an apple tree, and my neighbours a mandarin tree. The fruit from both is easy to pick. I do believe that Adam could fly. How else could he subdue all of creation? So I doubt that it mattered how high the trees were. Just fly up and grab what you want.

There is genetic limit to how tall a person gets. I also doubt that Adam had to face dinosaurs and dragons. I believe that they were part of the creation prior to Adam. God made all things good. Why would Adam have to fight them even if they existed? He had authority over them.

Do you...do you really believe Adam could fly or are you just pulling our legs? What in scripture makes you think man once had the ability to fly?

It's abstract, but god talked about gathering us under his wings and we where made in his likeness.

When I was in Taiwan I used to pick papaya from the tree all the time. they were often 20 feet off the ground, I would use a ten foot pole and knock them off. Maybe Adam was smart enough to figure that out.

Hmmm. So by that logic, Adam would also have had to be able to breathe underwater too, right? To have dominion over the creatures of the sea?

As an aside, when Yahweh says he gathers us under his wings...that's a metaphor. It's not literal.

If Adam couldn't figure out something like that...whew, he would have had a LOT of trouble in life!

Man imagined the wheel and then made it,,man imagined he could fly and then eventually he invented it. Man imagined flip communicators like on Star trek and then he had flip phones. It seems most things man imagines he eventually figures out how to make he just wont imagine to continuously do good as if it's difficult to him in his imagination. Eventually though...

That doesn't make any sense.
The LORD said, 'If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them

I get a feeling everything was better then than now because everything was so fresh from God's ordination power. Better people, better health.
Biology to suggest better height:

According to the biology, a living organism will continue to experience cell division and cell differentiation during its life time until some maturity is reached. Now for people who were living in the pre flood era, I do not know whar age this happened but Adam was the son of God, he had to be strong to half the strength of the angels at least being fresh from God's moulding then he had to be really better.

This has been achieved in this century. English is the most widely spoken language in the world and you can see what the English speaking universe has accomplished. Starting with the United States.

There is no biblical evidence that Adam was a giant. Gigantism today is an anomaly. He did not need to fight any animals. He could probably speak to them and they would listen and obey.

"Amphibious Adam"? Does that have a good ring to it?
