John 4:24
24 God is spirit; and they that worship must worship in spirit and truth.

So, if God is Spirit, that means the Father is Spirit because that is God, the Holy Spirit is Spirit because that is God, and the WORD is Spirit made Flesh into the person of Jesus or Yeshua because that is God.
Because of John 4:24, I disagree with the modern term of Person to define each One.
Christ said God is SPIRIT!
That is all I need!

The Father, the WORD, the Holy Spirit are SPIRIT!
God is SPIRIT!

But I view what is happening in the Bible as a Factual Testimony to ONE God with multi-personal roles to fulfill God's Purpose!

The moment a sinner believes and trusts in a crucified Jesus, he is saved. Whoever hears the call: “Come unto Me, thou weary one, and I will give thee rest.” Whoever comes to Jesus IS Elect.

No one can even fathom the love of God. No one can know the Savior’s heart.

“Jesus wept.”
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:10, 12-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:16-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What do you make of this statement (from a person who is not on this forum)

"As you can see, Peter was filled with holy spirit, in other words God's force, not possessed by a spirit being.
The holy spirit is God's active force as seen when Jesus sent the helper to us Acts 2"

Not quite sure if this person, not on this site, is trying to reference Matthew 12 when Christ said, by the Holy Spirit do I cast out demons [when the Pharisees claimed Christ cast demons out by the power/force of Satan]??

But however the studies, the praying, fasting, etc to happen and take place for this person to come to this point of Conclusion, is also interesting.

But the [WORD] "Force" or Active Force, seems to indicate a POWER MODE.

So, it does seem this person is calling the Holy Spirit the Power and Force behind what God says, commands, does and whatever it is just obey's God through the Force/Power of the Holy Spirit.

I can see after casting out Demons, to think, [using the Name of Christ : I command in the NAME of Yeshua of Nazareth] was the "Key" in Command for the Holy Spirit to Force out / Over-Power the Demon doing the possessing.

I guess it all comes down to what is Meant in the entire View of the Holy Spirit as to their [Active Force] reference?
If we can know that much, we can figure it out (y)

I said when I came that I was not a Denominational Christian but I enjoy the study of old works, including the Bible and Qur'an. Many do not realize that the Jewish Books are almost entirely encompassed in the OT. I mainly wanted to discuss Scripture, but I did not understand that I would have to deal with the hate and ignorance that I have. I was surprised at the abusiveness people would unleash in talking about the Trinity. How can they think that their words please God? To those who have not engaged in hatred, bless you.

The person's view (again not on this forum) is that the Holy Spirit is not a Person but only a force of God's spirit.

Yet the Scripture demonstrates to us that the Holy Spirit is an active Person of the Godhead.
Just as the Father and the Son and all Three are - One Eternal God.

Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wife’s full knowledge, he kept back some of the proceeds for himself, but brought a portion and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and withhold some of the proceeds from the land? Did it not belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal?
How could you conceive such a deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God!”
On hearing these words, Ananias fell down and died.

“Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter;
but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Agree, we should not get heated, angry or forceful.
i love discovery and nothing better then to discover what God has told us is true., thus the reason for this thread.
This is not about a certain religion or church belonging. We are seeking Truth only from Scripture.

Dwell on this: Genesis - "Let Us make man in Our Image according to Our Likeness"

Who are These "Us" and "Our" ???
I have resisted becoming an Agnostic but perhaps I already crossed that line? Perhaps the same people who murdered the Prophets are the ones being murderous in their words now. I have my own private view on most of these things but don't force them on anyone. :(

Dear Katia, No need to become an agnostic - i have received the same attacks and the Lord Jesus Christ received the most hateful, vicious and scandalous attacks against Himself that none of us ever want to dare venture near.

A dear Sister on here said some beautiful things to you about the Lord and she was not judging you.
Sometimes, happens to me all the time, we get offended when we do not understand, at first, what is being said to us.
We all want for you to join in the sharing of Scripture which feeds and nourishes us unto Salvation and Eternal Life.

And the God of all grace, the One having called you to His eternal glory in Christ, of you having suffered a little while, He Himself will perfect, will confirm, will strengthen, and will establish you.

well Honestly you also seem to have the same issues as the rest of us at times myself included of not always reaching the mark and standard set before us. I think that’s where grace comes in sometimes grace means not being offended by people who have done or said things that are offensive to us.

I do agree that there’s a lot of arguing and judging that happens in this forum but o see it as something we could all do better on. But to achieve that we have to endure and have grace for each other.

I hope you take this as it was intended , and truly hope you don’t leave but of course if you do God bless you and keep you and help you grow more in understanding as hopefully he will do for all of us who stay here

God does love you I’m positive of that part

Thank you for the kind words. I believe in God, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit and do not condemn anyone for how they put all that together. I am not going to be drawn into condemnation of other Belief systems that I will leave unnamed. I pray that God will bring them into an understanding that pleases him.

I called God Allah SWT for almost a decade and now feel neglectful at times in simply using God without the honorific of SWT (Sub Hanna Wa Allah Tuallah), which interpreted into English is: Great and Glorious is He. Arabic rendering of that term is a beautiful art work, and many even here in America see it on buildings and do not know what it is.

Remember, the ones that did the 9/11 attack were 21 men, not the whole of the Arab Nations.

i want you to see something most beautiful that is in Heaven right now as we speak.

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
Revelation 5:9 and 7:9

This is the Will of God for you Katia - to be redeemed by the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ our Savior.
He alone is the MIGHTY GOD that saved us by His Death and Resurrection.
He is the Eternal One who alone can take away our sins.
He is the Resurrection and Life - no other god can say this or BE This.

The people walking in darkness have seen a Great Light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death, the Light has dawned.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders.
And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.

i was once in darkness until the Light of Christ came in and He set me free
Now i am a New Creation, old things have passed away.
When His Holy Spirit filled me i was made alive and knowing Him through the Gospels is the way unto Eternal Life.

I'm about to set out reading the whole Bible again. It's been years, almost 50 of them since I first did that. There are other tomes that I will read for Archeological value only.

Honestly, DISCERNMENT, the Gift from the Holy Spirit, was how Peter knew Ananias was lying.
Discernment is how I know when someone is lying in matters concerning God.
Not sure that makes it a Person over a Spirit?

And, if we know the Father and Son are Persons, how come we can Blaspheme them all day long and as long and still be forgiven?
If they're all Persons and Equal, they ALL should be equally unable to be Blasphemed.

So being Blasphemed doesn't make you a Person, or this reference would be Equal for all of Them.

God is Spirit means the Father, the WORD, and the Holy Spirit are all SPIRIT!

Good Morning Dear Angela,
it was a play on words, i was joking, i grew up with hockey skates on my feet and a stick in my hand, ice pond in our backyard and lot's of snow, big hill next to our house - we had some real fun back then, we even built little igloos

i notice you left me a 'strong disagree' on:
Abraham - Father
Isaac - Son
Jacob - Holy Spirit

God create/called these men unto Himself to reveal Himself through them to us.
Their lives tell the story of the Gospel and this is through whom God (Elohim) gave to us His Eternal Name - forever.
Elohim is plural.

And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel:
‘The Lord God of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you.
This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’
Exodus 3:14-15

Did this help??? or you see other - let me know - thank you
God did not call the Patriarchs to reveal the Trinity. Evidence for the Trinity is slim in the OT. Although the NT more than makes up for it.

You are so biblical, and then you throw in made up garbage at some point, and try to prove it with verses that are out of context and simply do not say that.

I've written major papers on the Trinity, Christology and pneumatology for my PhD. That's 50 or 60 sources for each paper. Plus my knowledge of the Bible. If what you were saying was true, I would have encountered it in those 150 books/papers. Or, you would have found a way to explain it that was logical, instead of misquoting Scripture.

Stick to the Bible, stop making up stuff that cannot be supported by the Bible.

“Jesus wept.”
You make it seem like God is beholden to us. Jesus wept over Jerusalem, in 30-33 AD. You know the context, right? A double meaning of weeping for us is not the character of God. God is righteous, sovereign and Just. Never forget his Justice is on the other side of the coin called love.

Further, we are dead people before God saves us. Only the owner of God saves us. We believe the gospel, because someone has been faithful to preach it to us, but because God makes us alive. Dead people can't make themselves alive!

"As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to livewhen you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindnessto us in Christ Jesus.8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Eph 2:1-10

This Eternal Command from God i always bow my knee to when i read/study His Word:
Every word of God is flawless;
He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
Do not add to His words,
lest He rebuke you and prove you a liar. Proverbs 30: 5-6

What offends you in Exodus 3: 14-15

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”
God also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers-
the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’
This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

What offends you in Exodus 3: 14-15

God said this is His Name FOREVER

What offends you in God's Name in these Three Abraham Isaac and Jacob ???
