I have talk about this before but we just cant get a handle on it. I want to focus on the 'melt downs'. If anyone has knowledge on it that would be great. Our 1 daughter has a severe case of it that's caused by everything. Shes 6 and since she was born shes tore apart the marriage. Every family relationship a family has is suffering alot for us. I have no one to talk to. We tried meds but she would always have the side effects so not much luck with that. ☹😫

eek

I have read about some music treatment/therapy working for some (children as well as adults) but I dont know how expensive it is.

I have some I guess you would call mildly autistic children in school who need teacher aides what I found works for them is listening to audio books or music with headphones. It sort of calms them down and also gives them a sense of security. Have a quiet corner with cushions and books etc where they can go and listen/read on their own. Make sure its always in the same place.

The headphones means they can hear clearly and wont disturb you. Its good for those times when you may not have time to cuddle and read with them, they enjoy that too. Have regular routines. Children with sensory processing disabilties can get overwhelmed and they dont know how to articulate what they want.

What is her diet like? The gut is linked to the brain so if you can get rid of dyes, etc in the diet it can help a lot.

One of my friends took in her autistic grandson and changed his diet. He went from non-verbal to a pretty social guy. It was an extreme change.

I think most of us don't consider it has to do with food that have been dedicated to idols. There's always a superlative reason that food effects us.Perhaps god did not design our body for that kind of food. Some get stuck on the idea that all things are lawful,, therefore even if it's a pound of crap is long as it taste good they will eat it.But that is not what god wants.

I got Autism myself. Therapy is a good option. I started therapy around her age. I still go to it so it may be a lifelong endeavor. See if you can identify her triggers and work on them if you can.

I don't expect you to believe me because it's too spiritual but fasting and prayer breaks all bonds including Autism.Of course the motive has to be right.

Autism isnt some disease that needs fixing. The brain processes things differently. It can be a blessing believe it or not. Despite my struggles God me and her this way for a reason. You are correct prayer can definitely make symptoms less bothersome and maybe even vanish.

You missed the fasting part.,,Because it might not work without fasting.
Isa 58:6
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Context a little diffent but these scips,,, to Matthew 17:12 and Mark 9:29

That’s what I was going to suggest. I heard something very similar. Since I have no direct way to test the theory it remains just that, a theory. From everything I read there is not one instance where digestive issues are not linked to symptoms. The process of how our body extracts nutrients from food, then gets them where they need to go, and eliminate waste, is the number one ignored aspect of health regardless of preexisting conditions. Sugar consumption plays a big role also.

My prayers are with you and i hope she gets gets better. thats all i can offer is prayer. maybe trying some exercise routines daily of doing two things at once through imagining colours in diferrent parts of the body or in the hands in a daily dance routine that works well for the nervous system. kids love it to. and the kids with autism excell in it because they can be very good at rememerbering mutilple things at once. different coulour can do diffent things, it may be worth a shot my nieghbor reports good results. and the kid has turned into a great dancer.

to @rayzor,

 um....... it's hard sometimes to covey things through a screen, so please don't take this the wrong way. My intention is to get this point across in a firm yet loving way:

This is likely not be a thread/topic for you to "tackle".....

These are some books we've used to help in that area. We never went the route of cutting out food groups (such as dairy or gluten) like some books suggest, but just changing the way some foods are presented or finding ways to hide things that are needed but resisted (like veggies) can be helpful. However, it may be worth talking with the pediatrician or nutritionist about going dairy or gluten free for a while and how to test/observe if there is any food/behavior relations.

I don't have an autistic child but one of my sons is sensitive to sugar and too much screen time will send him into emotional outbursts/anger. To be honest, I'm very similar. Too much sugar qnd wheat can turn me into a raging Hulk. So on a personal level, I have seen how diet can affect mood. We do a lot better when we're off sugar.

sugar is bad for everyone not just children
and its in most every processsed food, and it has different names so try to eat as whole food as possible rather than pre packaged.

some of the names its under

dextrose
fructose
glucose
maltose
syrup

avoid food like biscuits, cereals, candy, muesli bars, flavoured chips, yoghurts, and almost all soft drinks.

the other thing is pesticides and herbicides and heavy metals in the food chain. Unfortunatley high concentrarions of this make children vERY sick...adults tend to build up a tolerance but, todays generation are so much more vulnerable to the crap that people have been spraying on crops since after the second world war, thanks to industrialisation and pollution. Food has become so badly adulterated, and arftificial, our bodies cannot even recognise it as food or nututrition any more.

what you can do is eat as fresh food as possible. grow your own is best. Even if you may have to pay more for organic food or shop more often your health may depend on it
