Jon Gruden is the latest prominent figure to get the metaphorical guillotine. But of course the people who fixate on his faults are calling for more people to go.

It's interesting how these were never really public comments, but private ones he made to people he considered confidants. No I don't think he meant to hurt anyone, but he decided to lead a double life. When you lead a double life, you assume two masters. When you assume two masters, it leads to a bad place.

Opinion: Getting rid of Jon Gruden was easy. How will NFL root out other bigots? (msn.com)

It's politics plain and simple.
We're now in the era of Cancel Culture, Snowflakes, and Karens.

All the sudden for whatever reason a guy who was that same guy before and writing emails, is now no longer tolerable because of how he acts, and what he's said in emails.

Because now his bad behavior warrants crucifying him on the cross of PC because others want him out for their own reasons.
What better way to appear morally superior when actually a villain?

The villany will be overlooked because in the foreground we're led to pay attention to an NFL team acting in the name of moral indignation.

Meanwhile, there are active first string NFL players making millions still, while the front office overlooks their cases of spousal abuse, one caught on camera, child abuse, drug abuse, rape, etc...
That is until those issues can be useful in casting another wolf over the cliff for whatever reason makes the wolf launchers more money. Because the cross of PC always have room for more.

As long as you don't have any enemies you have nothing to worry about. Of course anyone who is successful in the NFL has plenty of enemies (ie Belichick). I think it is safe to say that at least 50% of those in the NFL won't try to use cancel culture for their advantage.
