I love that section in 1 Peter 5:6-11!!! God tells us over and over again that we are going to go through suffering, affliction, persecution, etc., etc. And He always encourages us to stay the course ... to remain steadfast in faith and unmovable and He also tells us that while we are going through our trials and tribulations, that He is working inwardly in us to perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle us. I love that God works in us in times of distress. What a loving Father we have!!!

Recently I watched Netflix's "Saints and Strangers," based on the journals of William Bradford, who arrived in America on the Mayflower in 1620, and was the governor of the settlement at Plymouth for more than thirty years. Unlike many others, his dealings with the indigenous peoples was largely honorable and above reproach. As a Puritan separatist, he had previously left England in 1607 due to religious persecution, since he believed the Church of England ought to eliminate all vestiges of Roman Catholic practices, and that this would result in a purer Christian church. Unfortunately to this day, we see evidence of these vestiges.

I am aware of other practices where they bring/put themselves into situations that are likened unto death, such as being buried alive, and then being "reborn," to help them overcome their fear of death, (which is attributed Scripturally to man's slavery [to sin])... often used in the initiation of shamans, and in conjunction with dream work and other practices (such as sweat ledges and medicine circles) they believe will increase their contact with what is called "the other side." Shamanism and syncretism... oy, both make me a little uncomfortable for different reasons, but it is wonderful when anyone is saved regardless of ethnic, geographic, or religious/spiritual background
It is very realistic having been created and penned by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, drawing on their experiences in the Israel Defense Forces. I was introduce to Lior Raz from seeing "Hit and Run" which also takes place in Israel In 2016, Fauda took six awards, including Best Drama Series, at the Israeli Academy Awards. The New York Times voted Fauda among the best international shows of 2017. In 2018, the show took 11 Israeli TV Academy Awards, including best TV drama, best actor for Lior Raz, and also best screenplay, casting, cinematography, recording, special effects and in other categories. It is quite suspenseful

On another note relative to what is available for viewing on Netflix is a show I am currently watching called "Fauda" concerning the centuries' long ongoing conflict in Israel with Palestine. It is largely Arabic and Hebrew spoken but has some English, and of course subtitles are included
