the reason we may not refer to our selves as ...saved while alive on this earth
We may absolutely refer to ourselves as saved!

“[God] made us alive together with Christ. By grace you have been saved” (Eph 2:5)
We are already saved, and we should rejoice in that truth!

"born again" means saved my friend. We have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor 5:21). We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (Eph 1:3), preserved for heaven (1 Pet 1:3-4), unable to spiritually die because the living, enduring word of God has taken root in our hearts (1 Pet 1:23-25). Praise God!

I think one of the major issues of contention, whether or not The Elect of God, Christians, will go through the Great Tribulation, is due to a major misunderstanding of the scripture in both Ephesians 2:8 and Matthew 24:13. It is my hope this article saved in my favorites file for years now will assist in clearing that up.

In Matt 24:13, Jesus says the famous words:
But the one who endures to the end will be saved. (ESV)
Perhaps the most common understanding of this passage is that we must endure in good works to the end of our physical lives to be saved from hell. This understanding contradicts Paul’s words in Eph 2:8a:
For by grace you have been saved through faith. (ESV)
Notice two differences between Eph 2:8a and Matt 24:13: First, the Matt 24:13 salvation is by enduring whereas the Eph 2:8a salvation is by grace through faith. Second, the Matt 24:13 salvation is future (“will be saved,” from the Greek future tense, sothesetai) whereas the Eph 2:8a salvation is past (“have been saved,” from the Greek perfect tense sesosmenoi). Salvation from hell was by grace through faith and has already happened to me, so what is the future salvation by endurance that Jesus is talking about in Matt 24:13? The answer is in the context.
Matthew 24:13 is part of an answer to the question that Jesus’ disciples asked earlier in the chapter:
As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Matt 24:3 ESV)
It makes sense that the salvation in vs 13 should be in the future tense; after all, the disciples are asking about the future. Specifically, they were asking about the 7-year tribulation period. One reason we know that the Tribulation is in view is because Jesus says that the abomination of desolation (which Daniel talks about in Dan 9) will occur during this period. We also know that this is the tribulation because they asked immediately after Jesus said that not one stone of the temple would be left on another – surely a reference to the replacement of the 2nd temple with the temple that Ezekiel writes about in Ez 40-48.

Yep. There are still stones on top of each other.

We already know that the salvation in question is not salvation from hell, so what is it a salvation from? In verse 22, Jesus indicates that salvation from physical death is in mind:
And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. (ESV)
When Jesus says, “He who endures to the end will be saved,” He does not mean that you must be good until you die to be saved from hell. He is talking about a specific group of people in the future who will need to endure to the end of the tribulation in order to be saved from physical death.
Understanding Matt 24:13 is good news for several reasons. It’s good news to know that we don’t need to endure to the end of the Tribulation because we aren’t in the Tribulation. It’s also good news to know that we won’t even be in the Tribulation, in fact, this is the doctrine that Paul points to for us to encourage each other with.1 Perhaps most of all, it’s a relief to know that we can take Jesus at His word to give eternal life to whomever believes in Him for it:
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. (John 5:24 ESV)

  1. See this article by a popular theologian.
I believe that there Is only one way to endure to the end and that Is to be be saved before death

because after death Is the judgement and the person has to be reborn and only GOD can make the Spirit of
a just man perfect.

Since GOD counted all men coming short of HIS glory,a person can only call out to GOD for mercy and repent and GOD will have mercy and give them grace through faith.

So then the only way a person can endure to the end Is to have their Spirit made perfect before death comes on them and then the judgement.

In the kjv it says "by grace are ye saved (?) through faith"

A better verse to portray what you are trying to say is John 5:24.

There, it is evident that everlasting life begins at the moment of first faith.

Of course, I was quoting from Ephesians 2:8 and you were quoting from Ephesians 2:5.

In the kjv, "by grace ye are saved"

So that is a good verse, after all.

Did u look up the word meaning?
Probably not. A typical left wing approach of distortion for gain....even if it is wrong. LOL
1st, I am a republican not a democrate
2nd. Your legalism iis there for all to see. Its not about what God did or is doing for you. its all about what you do for God.

You [ump your chest and tell everyone all the time how great you are and how much a sinner they are.

You need to repent. Get out of Gods way and let God save you man..

Those stones at the "Wailing Wall" are NOT part of the Temple that Jesus refered to.
Amen, its part of the old roman fort that overbooked the temple

Thats not what the passage is talking about

It is about being alive when Christ returns. Being a witness to his return, and entering the kingdom age with him as king.

What a glorious day that will be. For those who endure to the end

A better translation is for by grace you have been saved.

1. No one uses the word ye anymore. It is outdated.
2. Salvation in eph 2 is in the perfect tense. It is a completed action.

I use it; any time that I quote it out of the kjv.

But you are mincing at words.

What does it matter if I say "ye" or "you"?

"ye" is singular; and "you" is plural.

Therefore, we get a more exact meaning when we use the olde English as concerning such words as these.

Other than that, I believe that you are mincing at words. You don't like King James English because you don't like the message of the kjv.

That is the real issue. That you think that the kjv English is outdated is merely a cover-up for the fact that you are heaping to yourself teachers to tell you what your itching ears want to hear, in the translators of other versions.

See. This is why you need to let the old bible go. Or at least stop idolizing it. You just proved my point. People today do not use that word

Ye is PLURAL

You is SINGULAR

And dude. I read the kjv myself and use it as well as the NKJV

You should stop with your nonsense. You keep hurting yourself. Your just mad at me because I call you out all the time.

Interesting! I personally believe that this verse means that these group of people should be with God until the end, faithful to Him.If you start in verse 9 Jesus says says, there will be many sorrows -war, famines, pestilences , earthquakes, hatred between people, lawlessness, afflictions ,hatred, death, deception. So the faith of these people will be tested many times on highest scale, they must endure these tribulations .I guess this is the last call for salvation and the last fruits and that is why will be so difficult I am guessing many will be saved exactly in these times ,because we all know God is so Merciful.

Praise God - His Elect are not appointed to wrath - AMEN 1 Thessalonians 5: 9-11

Now, instead of believing and promoting a lie - bring forth the scripture where our LORD or the Apostles say:
"You will not go through the Great Tribulation." OR "Jesus will pre-trib rapture you before the Resurrection."

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables
Praising God for something you do not believe in. Isn't this a blasphemy? Just saying.

Wrong...keep it in context..we are not saved....(NOTICE...ED.=history...can't be changed=forever, etc).... God must be offended...because He has the power to judge us...remember...it is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgement. Explain to Him why you say u r saved while alive?
During this life on earth...We are r born again .....if we have repented, been baptized and are living a righteous life....not saved.

I haven't made an "idol" out of the kjv.

An idol is a graven image.

If I consider that the kjv holds the unadulterated word of the Lord, and is inspired and inerrant as concerning doctrine, then I consider that it accurately tells me what I need to know about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And if I have made an idol out of the gospel, at last it is an "idol" that will save me (Romans 1:16).

No; I have not made an idol out of either one. But God has magnified His word above all His name (Psalms 138:2).

And "ye" is singular; while "you" is plural.

But I would warn you with the following scripture if you want to continue to argue.

2Ti 2:14, Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

Hello there, Ellie. You've misunderstood David. Read his posts and you'll see that he clearly believes we must endure until Jesus returns as King of kings at the 7th trump. This is something I believe as well. Welcome to CC.:)

Ow ,really. I just said that not to accuse you in anything, just to give you my friendly observation. If I misunderstood you , I am sorry....

But calling me satan now, I thought we are here for each other to help each other ,when the other make mistake,
because in the Judgement day we are all accountable for our sins ,and this the most important thing.

If you see other christian sin, will you not tell them if they do not realise that.

If your friend is wrong for something, would you not tell them that.
Your tone and words are really not appropriate here.
Don't you think that you could have chosen different way to handle this matter ,if you boasting so much that you are the christian and I am satan.
