This morning I went to church. I haven't been in a long time. This was a new small church not to far from where I live. It comes under the umbrella of "church of Christ" It was really boring. I dont expect church to entertain me but I like to learn something from the message. I really did not understand a word that was preached. Not that it was complicated but rather that I kept tuning out and my attention kept drifting. I really wish I could find "my" church.

animals fascinate me

I recall a video of one owner who was told her cockatoo would be about 3 to 5 year old emotionally and live 20+ years, saying.. "oh great, i'm going to spent 20 years with a 3 year old!" lol

The sad part is, I haven’t really been to my church lately and I even feel like I’ve been disconnected from church here the past couple of weeks. But I think it’s mostly because of the changes I’m going through and the way God is working through me morphing me into a different person than I was when I first started going to church. So my church isn’t really, “my church” it’s everyone’s church, ‘home’ if you will…. Just I haven’t felt the same lately to even go for my own personal reasons.

Have you outgrown the spiritual maturity of that church? If they won't grow and continue being conformed to the image of Christ He may move you.
bless you

Mine is in the middle of a "super spreader" event...
It's become a "cluster" several times.

Every time we want to go back and think it might be safe we begin to see all the FB posts from our friends.

So we are having to stay away for a bit longer. We started going again for a bit...but then we started with the outbreaks again. Ugghhhh..... even though we just had an anniversary party with a lot of them this summer that was pretty awesome.

I miss going too. I'm dying to get out.
But I also know the concequenses if we get infected...it ain't gonna be pretty either.

So...we are just hanging on waiting for the day. (Our area is a high per Capita infection area...one of the highest in the USA)

Either me or my wife will be one of those in the ICU.

Did some cleaning today...did a trash run...just wanna get out again on a regular basis...tired of my own voice.

The purpose of Congregational Worship IS NOT to save souls or spread the Gospel. It IS for the purpose of Christians to fellowship, learn and grow in their life walks with Jesus. To be "fed" and "nourished" with the Gospel of Jesus. It is not for the purpose of "outreach programs." Nor is it for "witnessing" to the world, or the teaching of Denominational Ideologies.

A lot of people do not understand the purpose and value of Congregational Worship in the Church. I believe that is why so many are unfulfilled with attending Congregational Worship. Sadly, some Pastors, Deacons and Elders do not understand this as well.

All one has to do is remember what Jesus instructed Peter to do.

"FEED MY SHEEP"

Congregational Service should be constructed around worshiping and praising God in song, prayer, and the spoken word. Through this manner, are Christians "fed", "encouraged" and strengthened against the evil of the world.

Congregational Worship is vital to all Christians as a source of fellowship and maturing in their life walk with Jesus. It is important to find a Congregation and Pastor that understands this, and one that the person believes they are being fed, encouraged, and instructed. Not saying it is easy, but am saying one should never "give up" on Congregational Worship, for it is how God intended His children to be "fed."
