Nope. Not referring to that here (your idea of the lake of fire being people being "burn up and be consumed into smoke" is not supported by the actual text of Rev20).

It is supported by Rev 20, plus the fact that it is a second death proves being alive forever to be false because death is not remaining physically alive.

The passage in Psalm 37:20 is referring to "from the time they existed on the earth" (at / from THAT point).

And I covered the H3615 word (used 2x in Psalm 37:20) in a post many pages back:
They will NO LONGER EXIST ON THIS EARTH (coz they're DEAD...), whereas other will continue to exist on the earth
(this isn't the GWTj in this verse... you are reading that INTO this passage).

My apologies, you are right it's there. I made a wrong assumption you were saying that word was word for death.
Okay, no prob.

We all do that, at times. = )

you said: "so you have mans body which we live on earth in and then you have mans spirit who can endures after the body dies for jidgement"

this is FALSE. Only God is immortal. only believers receive the gift of immortality. Again only Roman Catholic and pagans believe man has an immortal soul.

you said: "um yeah the devil And his angels are spirits. "

but that does not answer what you said in your prior post about the lake of fire being a SPIRITUAL place. Again, please support that statement with scripture.

Additionally my point I've made in other posts--angels, death, and hell are thrown into the lake of fire--these ALL are IMMATERIAL, therefore cannot burn. Again based on this, the lake of fire is clearly a symbol of DESTRUCTION.

Furthermore, common sense dictates that without a physical body, one cannot suffer torment.
this is FALSE. Only God is immortal. only believers receive the gift of immortality. Again only Roman Catholic and pagans believe man has an immortal soul”

lol comon man everyone can read what I wrote please refrain from judging me a pagan

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What’s being judged for what they did while in the body ? Would you say it’s probably the persons spirit that didn’t die with the body ? Seems simple enough to me

was man made to die ? Or did we bring that on ?

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:12‬ ‭

Man created death by transgressing this and being thrown out of Eden where the tree of life is

“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when hey transgressed the commandment it brought death to mankind and God then three us out of Eden and barred us from the tree of life

“And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:22-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

man is a body created from dust and Gods spirit breathed into him to make him a living soul

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground,

and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when we die that happens in reverse our body dies and reverts to what it was dust and our spirit returns to God from where it came

“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:

and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

mans spirit doesn’t die when the body does is what I said of you want to argue what I say quote what I said Don’t twist it up and accuse and all the carnal stuff

When we die our spirit has to go to God alive for judgement . If you want to argue your point and accuse people of ignoring scripture ect you should probably acknolwedge some first

No, that is a different word not found in that verse.

1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Death is:

G2288
θάνατος
thanatos
than'-at-os
From G2348; (properly an adjective used as a noun) death (literally or figuratively): - X deadly, (be . . .) death.
Total KJV occurrences: 119

You are again switching words and definitions around to change meaning of a verse. This why everything TDW posts needs to be double checked.

Even G2673's definition isn't being fully given:

G2673
καταργέω
katargeō
Thayer Definition:
1) to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative
1a) to cause a person or thing to have no further efficiency
1b) to deprive of force, influence, power
2) to cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish
2a) to cease, to pass away, be done away
2b) to be severed from, separated from, discharged from, loosed from any one
2c) to terminate all intercourse with one
Part of Speech: verb
A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from G2596 and G691
Citing in TDNT: 1:452, 76
Divinewatermark--if we dissected every plain word in scripture we would never be able to get thru and read it! The dictionary didn't come into existence until the 1600's. This verse does NOT need to be translated and I am certain the first century Christians as well as anyone else can see plainly the meaning. Death means DEATH. Destroy means DESTROY. How do we know this? ONE because it is a literal verse, not figurative. Second because again 100's of verses say JUST THAT. Scripture interprets Scripture!

We sleep. What sleeps? Certainly not the body--it decays, therefore it is the SPIRIT and SOUL that sleeps. Man became a LIVING SOUL, not a living SPIRIT. The Spirit is what enables us to interact and understand God--it is activated by the HOLY SPIRIT within us. Again, to say an unbeliever will live, just in a different place is FALSE as ONLY Believers receive eternal life.

Soul and Spirit are two different. Jesus said we SLEEP and so did the Apostles and David, so I believe it.

Jesus said we (believers) would never die. And let the dead bury the dead. Obviously people in the grave are not burying people in graves. So there are multiple layers and meanings to that one word alone. We are all born into a waking death by Adam, and need to be born again of the Spirit of God to attain to life ever after. We all pass out of this life and this is called the first death, though Jesus said we would never die. Then there is the resurrection of all, yes, some to everlasting life, and some to eternal damnation, via the second death, which there is no reason to believe is anything like the first waking death or the first physical death. Going by what Scripture says in a multiplicity of way it is destruction to the uttermost. God does everything for His glory. Expecting God to do what He would find abhorrent were we to do the same thing? Um, no. God is merciful, loving, and just. Mercy and justice put misery out of existence, and that is love.

Those without the Living Spirit of God have their names blotted out of the book of life.
sister they didn’t even die in the ot when tbier body did man has his own lovong spirit the question is where will we live forever ?

if we choose Christ we can have our spirit renewed to be born in the ot the wicked that died went here not into death as you are perceiving it but here

“And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:22‬ ‭

that happened after Jesus died he went into those spiritual prisons where men’s souls go

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

can you acknolwedge they weren’t actually dead before Jesus came thier spirits were imprisoned ? The dead bodies of men waste into nothing but our spirit is what can be redeemed

Man has a spirit always have had

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:16‬ ‭

we need that because of this

“In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

mans spirit is corrupt , wicked that’s what is was about

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

rather than growing on Gods image we became like Satan through sin and it’s deceit we can be redeemed from that state and raised up as new born children of God not having our spirit die and receiving a new one but by the Holy Ghost coming into us and redeeming our spirit

Christ preached thru NOAH--'imprisoned' is a figurative term describing their entombment by the flood--there were trapped/imprisoned. Spirit does not mean a disembodied spirit--it signifies those who have passed.

Ecc.3:21
Where the SPIRIT OF MAN GOES.
The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭20:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭

our spiritual connection to God has always been because we and all that lives came from Gods spirit the creator who was before all thkngs we only later corrupted everything it’s how he knows our inner thkngs

um yeah mankind’s spirit given when his body was formed in the beginning what’s your point ?

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

there are two parts to us the life inside no one can see the person and then the body just an inanimate vehicle formoir spirit on earth

man then corrupted ourselves and became like this

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

Again, soul--that is what animate's a man's body. Spirit is how we interact with God--'deep calls to deep' Soul and Spirit are two distinct things.

"or the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."--Hebrewss 4:12

it seems like you all are avoiding every good point made that doesn’t agree with you not one of you have addressed the scriptures I’ve shared you just explain away everything so I don’t see much fruit potential no offense or anything whatsoever I just happen to have a different view on the afterlife from some of you. Jesus actually has a great teaching about this

“And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:22-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when we die we’re not actually going to die even if w e are heading the wrong direction there’s a place for the wicked after they die and a place for Gods children after they die just the two destinations when our body dies that’s just us moving out of our earthly tabernacle moving our spirit to judgement

that of course above is a teaching from Jesus about what happens when we die the two places we could end up

Pilgrim, my brother, where we differ is on the nature of man’s spirit. The spirit within him, that gives him life, is the Spirit of God. This is how when a man is born again of the Spirit he has fellowship with God. All men who are alive or are awaiting judgement have this spirit. Spirit can also mean the essence of a thing. We use this to describe mineral spirits or alcohol, for example. The spirit that returns to God is the spirit God gave man. Without this spirit man will die. This spirit, because it is the essence of God, cannot die nor can it be corrupted or destroyed. The spirit that dies and is destroyed is the essence of man: this is dependent upon the man’s position in or not in Christ. If man dies outside of Christ the spirit of God returns to God. Then, the spirit of man, the essence of who he is, is destroyed in the Lake of Fire.

You said: it seems like you all are avoiding every good point made that doesn’t agree with you not one of you have addressed the scriptures.

How am I avoiding? I have addressed everything you said in regards to what you believe about man's spirit. Not agreeing with you is not the same as avoidance.

Luke 16 is a parable. Scripture says,

Even without being told that fact, we see things that do not align with scripture.

1. No one has ascended to heaven but Christ. Not even Abraham. No one is allowed into God's kingdom until Christ's second coming and subsequent judgment.
2. How are the able to see each other? If all people who have died since the flood are in both places they would be in the billions--how was the rich man able to see the beggar? How was he able to carry on a conversation if he was in agony?
3. It says there is a GREAT Chasm--how again were they able to speak?
4. He asks for the beggar to dip water to cool his tongue--how would a drop of water help him?
5. If heaven is a place with no more sorrow, why would those in heaven be able to actually see those who are suffering--even their loved ones?

You said:when we die we’re not actually going to die even if w e are heading the wrong direction

Again you would have to believe in an immortal soul--"God alone is immortal"--only believers will receive immortality, not unbelievers--btw eternal life is called a GIFT.

Forgot to include verse about Jesus speaking to the people ALWAYS in parables. (this doesn't include the disciples of course)

"He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything"--Mark 4:34
