"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14

Jesus gave himself.
God had a symbolic name used once, while the REAL name was removed 7,000 times from most Bible.
A Holy Ghosthy was over the sea!

Such are the fairy tales given!
JW doctrine is far worse then a fairy tale = doctrines of demons

Are you saying this of yourself or someone else?

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."--1st Corinthians 13:1

The only thing I can think of in our world that has some comparison how one' can also be three is the molecules that makes up water-- H20--2 Hydrogen Molecules and 1 Oxygen Molecule--the 2 Hydrogen would be God and Christ, the Oxygen, the Holy Spirit. Symbolically water is life sustaining--without it all things would perish.

Of course this is extremely simplistic as God is vastly more complex, but just as a comparison to how three can also be one.

Nice - water, air and earth - remove any one of these three and no life for us

Good that you're doing research!
While you're at it look up tetragrammaton!
Yes, I know what that is the 4 letters the Hebrews used instead of spelling out God's name as it was too Holy to speak.

You seem quite fixated on this particular name. How does it give further revelation of who God is and His plan of salvation? Again God has many names, but we all know He is the three in one God. Why does the Scripture say "Here Oh Israel the LORD, the Lord God is ONE."? Why would they need to emphasize His oneness?

"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."--Isaiah 9:6

Put that in your pipe and smoke it--and please INHALE!

The arrogance of religious people in only outdone by ATHIESTS!
Facetiousness does not equate to arrogance.

My point being it says absolutely DEFINITIVELY that Jesus is not only the SON but the FATHER.

The verse in Isaiah says Jesus is Called both Mighty God and Everlasting Father.

There is no wiggle room for you to argue otherwise.

Re: What Did Jesus Say About Himself?

John 6:48-49 . . . I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the
wilderness, and they died.

Manna was very nourishing but limited; it didn't sustain Moses' people
indefinitely even though it was God-given and miraculous.

Psalm 78:24-25 is commonly translated to say that the manna was angels'
food, but in none of the other fifteen places where the Hebrew word appears
is it translated to indicate celestial beings. It usually speaks of strength,
valiance, and/or superiority.

I think we can safely paraphrase Ps 78:25 to say that manna was powerful
food; and indeed it was because it's common to develop deficiency diseases
when people eat only one kind of food at every meal day after day;
especially vegans. But according to Deut 8:4, the people apparently enjoyed
exceptional health.

John 6:50-51a . .This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a
man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from
heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live forever;

Jesus chose a good comparison. Up till that moment, the Jews knew of no
foods superior to manna.

John 6:51b-52 . . And the bread which I shall give for the life of the world
is my flesh. The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying: How can
this man give us his flesh to eat?

The Jews misunderstood Jesus to mean cannibalism. Well; he laid that idea
to rest with this statement:

John 6:61-62 . . Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus
said to them: Does this offend you? What if you see the Son of Man ascend
to where he was before?

In other words; in order for people to successfully cannibalize Jesus' body, it
would have to be accessible where they could cut into it with a knife and
fork. Were he to depart for heaven, which he eventually did; people would
lose access to his body and thus find it impossible to comply if true that his
teaching spoke of cannibalism. So we can rule out a literal meaning of his
words right off the bat.

Jesus' teachings were somewhat cryptic.

John 6:63 . .The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I
have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

Spirit words oftentimes contain hidden meanings not easily discerned by
human intelligence.

1Cor 2:13-15 . .We speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in
words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The
man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit
of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them,
because they are spiritually discerned.

Jesus' spirit words were not well-received by the audience that day.

John 6:66 . . From this time many of his disciples turned back and no
longer followed him.

Well; no surprise there. The reason they gave up on Jesus was simply
because they were listening to his spirit words with human ears instead of
hearing them with ears provided by God; ergo:

John 6:63-65 . .There are some of you who do not believe. This is why I
told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him.

In order to get in on the Father's enabling, people must first be confident
that Jesus' teachings are reliable.

John 6:67-69 . . You do not want to leave too, do you? Jesus asked the
twelve. Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? You have
the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of
God.

That was easily the wisest decision Peter ever made. Though he didn't have
a clue what Jesus was talking about at first, our guy was confident that
Jesus was the voice of God. That's a really, really good place to start with
Christ.

John 12:49 . . I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me,
He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

Well, that adds new meaning to "father figure"!
He 's his own FATHER!
Did He have relations with Mary so he can give birth to. .. HIMSELF?

Putting church doctrine to the TEST shows how ridiculous it is!

IBG,

In an earlier post you said you are not a Jehovah's Witness. However, I know of know other faith that emphasizes the name Jehovah other than the Witnesses. I looked online and found this article. I hope you will consider reading it--I've posted a portion here along with the link:

https://biblicalworldviewacademy.org/why-do-jehovahs-witnesses-emphasize-gods-name/

During the time I was writing this post, a Jehovah’s Witness (Bruce K.) sent me a comment on the personal name of God responding to on an article I wrote called “Major Problems with the New World Translation.” The following is part of my reply.
Since God is also identified as “God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,” without any mention of Jehovah (YHWH), doesn’t this mean that the name Jehovah is not the only way that God can be addressed in the Old Testament?
Jesus never identified the Father as Jehovah. Was Jesus wrong for not calling the Father by his personal name? When He taught us how to pray, how are we to address the Father? Matthew 6:9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.’” Jesus taught his disciples and us to say “Our Father” and not “Our Jehovah.” You need to chastise Him for forgetting to use Jehovah here and all through his ministry. Jesus never said the name Jehovah. Bruce was Jesus wrong?
Why didn’t any of the New Testament writers use the name Jehovah? Were all the writers of the New Testament out of line? Are you going to correct them? There are over 5,700 ancient New Testament manuscripts and none of them ever used the name Jehovah. NONE! Does the Watchtower Organization know more than Jesus and the New Testament writers?

In my posted letter to Angela (Jehovah’s Witness) I wrote: “Forcing the word Jehovah [by the New World Translation] into the New Testament is simply wrong. When your translators did this they went against thousands of Greek manuscripts of the New Testament; some of which date back to the second century. Instead the New Testament uses the words “Lord” [Greek: Kurios] and “God” [Greek: theos] when talking about God. The writers never used Jehovah, even when quoting the Old Testament. The Greek New Testament source for the New World Translation, Westcott and Hort, never used Jehovah. They used kurios for Lord and theos for God. The Kingdom Interlinear confirms Jehovah was never in the original text. This interlinear published by the Watchtower Organization shows how kurios (Lord) and theos (God) were changed to Jehovah in the English translation. Stating God’s name was left out of the King James or any other version of the Bible is false. Angela, I suggest finding a Kingdom Interlinear at your hall so you can see for yourself. When your organization says they removed the name, they are lying to you.” Bruce why do you follow an organization that blatantly lies to you?
Theology books say the names of God represent His character; they tell us who He is. Through God’s many names we learn He is personal, powerful, caring, and much more. So why do the Jehovah’s Witnesses say God’s only personal name is Jehovah? One reason is it gives them the air they are the only true religion that properly worships God. It sets them apart. The other reason is by pointing to “Jehovah” as the one personal name, they can attack the doctrine of the Trinity.

Are you denying what the scripture clearly states? If so, that must mean you worship a different God than the God of the Bible and that you do not use the Holy Scriptures as your authority.

Do you not see that you are putting God on par with humans and trying to understand him as if He were a human? He is NOT a HUMAN BEING, therefore you are looking at this thing in quite the wrong way.

"Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me."--Isaiah 46:9

and that's a wrap
Actually, Sophie, I've discovered it's not about changing anyone's mind, but discovering more truth in defense of that truth.

For example the verse I shared in Isaiah--I've heard it countless times (usually Christmas) yet really didn't take in the wonder of what it was saying; that Jesus is also called Mighty God and Everlasting Father--this a powerful proof text that He and the Father are ONE because it says it in such a definitive way. Also I discovered that the name Elohim is plural! I found the names God calls Himself and all His other names. This has made me want to study His names and brought on a joy which was something I so needed and it encouraged my faith.

I'm learning how to defend the faith and I am learning more about who God is in this kind of exchange. It also strengthens my faith and better equips me to share my faith with others.
