We all fall short of His law, but it is God's standard, non-the-less.
At whatever point one breaks the Law, they are guilty of breaking all of it.
Yeshua said, "Love your neighbor as yourself." I'm pretty sure He included gays.

I believe when it comes to our own righteousness, we all stand on even ground before God.

They don;t like thinking Hitler. If he repented. Could be just as saved as they, who have been trying to do their best for years Are.

So there is a law that condemns the unjustified. Christ's atonement is what frees us from the sins that condemn us.
If there is a law do we make it void because of the grace and atonement?
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
The law can't condemn us because of the atonement of Christ but that does not mean the law is void.

Sin is always poisonous, the law points out the sin and Jesus is the remedy to the death that sin brings.
All have sinned so we all need Salvation which comes by faith (not works).
People keep saying the law is only for the Jews or was nailed to the cross but the new testament tells us to keep the Law of liberty which is perfect and does not change.
Jesus said to keep the 10 commandments, and many other verses back it up.
True the law of shadows that was our tutor finished at the cross.
Prove to me that the 10 commandments finished at the cross.
Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
I do not believe in keeping the law to gain righteousness or to earn salvation, Righteousness comes by faith, faith in what Jesus did.
Gal_3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made;
was there a law before Adam sinned? There must have been because Adam broke the law and sinned.
After sin a new law was added and it was added because of sin until the promise came.
Jesus was the promise and the laws that were added were all school masters and tutors to help people understand salvation.
The law of love does not change.
Jesus summed it up in 2...
Luk 10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
Luk 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Luk 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Jas 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Jas 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
in the 10 commandments, The first 4 commandments are all about loving God with all our heart. The last 6 commandments are about loving your neighbour as yourself.

He loves the sinner and hates the sin...
However, maybe God hates the sinner, too, inasmuch as the sinner will not be separated from his sin (Psalms 5:5-6, 7:11, 11:5).
The New Testament law is that we walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Romans 8:4, Galatians 5:16-24).

I preach the law of Moses to the unsaved (Galatians 3:10, James 2:10, Matthew 5:48) whether they believe themselves to be on their way to heaven or not.
Not every Christian is on their way to heaven (Matthew 7:21-23) if you identify a Christian as someone who says to Jesus, Lord, Lord.
Christians who are not on their way to heaven need the law of Moses preached to them (Galatians 3:10, James 2:10, Matthew 5:48) so that they can come to the end of themselves and receive Jesus as their Saviour and Lord.
If we walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, the righteousness of the law will be fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4).
