Some people are looking for a lasting relationship and some are not.

If you ARE looking for a lasting relationship, why do you think you can be trusted with the heart of another?

If you are NOT looking and you don't think you can be trusted with someone else's heart, why do you think that?

If you don't know, what is it about you that would need to change in order to be trustworthy in that regard?

I feel like Jullianna is secretly compiling this data in search of the perfect man. Soooooo many relationship threads!!!

I would have to go with NOT looking, because I am flawed, terribly flawed. And nobody should give their heart to someone as broken.

First off, I'm not sure what kind of relationship I'm looking for or if I am even looking for a relationship at all. Right now the only relationship that I am working on is the one I have with my Lord. Loving others as I love myself and treating others as I want to be treated, based on those two things I think I could be trusted with anothers heart.

LOL :) Actually, it was mentioned in a thread lately that the threads here were mostly geared toward lighter topics and some people wanted to see more relationship-based threads, as this is a singles forum and they wanted to learn from others. These are simply things that are on my mind. :)

*files djness' response in her secret spy folder for potential stalking purposes* :D

Don't start with me, McCharming :p

Okay..you're onto me. I'm conducting a social experiment and you are all my cute lil lab rats. :D

Seriously though, I've created more than my share of goofiness threads (and will undoubtedly do the same very soon haha), but even I have my moments of wanting to understand the male mind.

Can I be trusted? Implicitly.

Will I cause pain and hurt? Most assuredly. Unfortunately.

How big, exactly, would the heart be? And would it be made of 100% solid milk chocolate?

In that case... I plead the 5th. I cannot truthfully say I could be trusted...

Just the same as men have their moments of wanting to understand the female mind.

I dont think anyone can say with complete assurance they can be trusted with someones heart.

No nod, but I can say with complete assurance that I would never intentionally hurt or break someone's heart.

I fully agree with this. I am completely human and will fail. Even when I do not mean too and have the best intentions possible.

Keep in mind that a person's heart belongs to that person. That person's mind, motives, perceptions and biases affect their heart. We can't assume we control their happiness but we can assume, that our actions impact those things. Can I be trusted with someone's heart? The real question is can I be trusted with my own heart? As Christians we know that we have trusted our heart with Jesus and he will always guard it. I'd like to think that I could be trusted with someone's heart. Now I think the issue is, will I ever be able to trust someone with my heart???...

I think I could be trusted but that doesnt mean that someone wont get hurt. I can be trusted because I will always be honest, communicating my thoughts and feelings. But at the same time, that honesty may come with a price. I might have and honest opinion that is hurtfull no matter how tactfully delivered.

I'm gonna go ahead and answer the second question.

If you are NOT looking and you don't think you can be trusted with someone else's heart, why do you think that?
As nice as I try to be, I am seriously flawed. I tend to be effected by other's negative emotions, and I'm just plain selfish. I'm trying to learn to put God in my sights, but I tend to have these earthly distractions in my life; family, friends; ect, ect...

How can I be trusted with someone's heart when I don't even know how to control mine?
