Repentance has nothing to do with salvation. Someone told you lies.
Why not trust in what Christ has done for us, He died for our sins.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Repentance is simply a change of mind, a turn to God's provision for salvation which is faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wow! MANY gospels, or "good news"? What was the good news to Cain And Abel?:

Gen 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Gen 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

And, how Exactly is that understood to be the EXACT SAME good news
(gospel) That God Revealed TO Paul, in The MYSTERY (HID In God)?:

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that He was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:

What kind of Respect Is God Going To Have for me IF I "bring of the firstlings of my flock and of the fat thereof." And TRY that as an "offering unto the LORD"?

Will he "save me"??? You say that is FOOLISHNESS, Correct? How about Many of our discussions?

Didn't your apostle Paul say godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation?

Hanns57 ---you said -----Repentance has nothing to do with salvation.

I say ---again show the Scripture that says Repentance has nothing to do with Salvation

You make all these claims but you show no proof in scripture -----

Before Jesus die Mankind was held responsible for the sins they committed -----when a person sinned there was going to be a judgement coming ---

Leviticus 5 --Guilt offering

17 “If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.

18 They are to bring to the priest as a guilt offering a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value. In this way the priest will make atonement for them for the wrong they have committed unintentionally, and they will be forgiven.
19 It is a guilt offering; they have been guilty of[e] wrongdoing against the Lord.”

I say
If the laws are still in place today ----then we would have to bring a guilt offering the priest ---so the priest could make atonement for the wrong we have committed -----there would be no hope for an eternal life ----we would all be doomed to torment -----as the blood of animals only covered sin for a year ---

Hebrews 9
English Standard Version
22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

So I say -----------Thanks Be to God for the New Covenant and Jesus paying for what we deserve ------Salvation is under the New Covenant of Grace -----Jesus is the way to eternal life

There is only one Gospel—the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

- Acts 4:12 (NKJV)

And Jesus says in Matthew 24: 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Are all here aware that Abraham was given the very same Gospel as we. He is the first to have received this good news from God, from Jesus Yeshua.

Read the Old Testament before judging it,, please.
YES Brother - there is only One Gospel and it was first prophesied by the LORD to satan in the Garden
Our Victory in the Gospel was declared first to the Serpent who twisted God's words.
Genesis is the Foundation of Truth for ALL Scripture.
That Serpent knows this and wants to divide the Jew from the Gentile in the Body of Christ.

And there are those spreading heresies here about different gospels and one for the Jew and one for the Gentile.

This is a vile sin and just another attempt by the wicked one to lead people astray and divide the Body of Christ.

What God has joined together let no man separate. Mark 10:9

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesian 4:4-6

Now the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter. And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.
So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”
Acts 15:6-11

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:10-13

In thee Abraham shall all nations shall be blessed. That's good news to Abraham and he believed it. There was no mention of any death, burial or resurrection for sins.

Gal_3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Oh but there was - for God preached the Gospel thru Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

The Gospel is truly by Faith, just as Abraham believed God and God credited to him Righteousness.

There is more than one gospel in the Bible.

The gospel God preached to Abraham.

Gal_3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

Gal_3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

The gospel of the Kingdom.

Mat_4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

The everlasting gospel.

Rev_14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Obviously we don't know the everlasting gospel because it is a future gospel.

And the gospel Paul preached.

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Obviously all of the gospels are different.

God was dispensing his grace at different times to different peoples.

Abraham at that time was given the gospel " In thee shall all nations be blessed ".

Rom_4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

God was proclaiming the gospel to the Jewish Nation through Abraham.

Rom 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

Israel was promised their kingdom of heaven would come to this earth.

Most of Israel did not accept Christ as their Messiah and her kingdom gospel that was preached by the Lord Jesus Christ.

The gospel Jesus preached is not our gospel.

We are not Israel.
We are not Gentiles.

Rom 15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
Rom 15:10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
Rom 15:11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
Rom 15:12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

Anyone who is not saved is lost, Paul when he got saved was sent to the Heathens.

Gal 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
Gal 1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Paul was given the gospel by Christ to give to us.

Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

This is the gospel you must believe to be saved.

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
The Gospel is very, very difficult to understand, which is why virtually no "christians" talk about it.

Here is the best description of the Gospel that I've ever heard:

1) The Purpose of Christ
2) The Work of Christ
3) The Effect of Christ

I've never heard of a "pastor" preach on the Effect of Christ, for if they did, they'd have to preach the Work of Christ. And again, who teaches the Work of Christ. Oh, yes . . . they teach the Purpose of Christ, hence virtually all Christians know John 3:16. But do they relate the Purpose of Christ to the below? I've never heard of anyone promoting the below verse:

1 John 3:8 NKJV - "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil."

So, how does Jesus do that, exactly? Who knows the answer to this? DavidTree, who posted above knows, but who else?

It isn't enough to describe the Gospel through simple chapter titles, like the three points above. And no . . . those three points are NOT the Gospel, but only descriptive words. However, the Gospel is to be explained, and again, this is the plight of today's modern-day church and their horrific leaders and teachers (today's example of yesterday's Sadducees, Pharisees, and teachers of the law). It isn't enough to simply say, "The Gospel is the Good News of Jesus Christ!" But I have actually sent out emails to pastors across America, and each of them do two things:

1) They merely describe the Gospel of Christ . . . they cannot explain it.
2) Once I show these high-end "pastors" that they can [only] describe the Gospel, they scatter like flies in a tornado. Pathetic, it is Truly pathetic.

To finalize, if you're Truly interested in learning about the Gospel, send me an email at [email protected] and I'll share more. I promise to place you on a more wholesome path that will make your head spin (in a good way). The Gospel can be explained . . . wholly, by Scripture alone. And once you see these three points above, fully explained by Scripture alone, you won't need to be taught by humans anymore . . . the Spirit will take over and you'll be your own "man" or "woman," whichever you might be.

Respectfully . . .

When God gives the Holy Spirit to God’s elects=sheeps they receive a radical change, that even your own family won’t recognize you anymore. That’s how great of a change that happens, when God gives you the Holy Spirit. When you receive the Holy Spirit you change from stony heart to a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 11:19-20 and Ezekiel 36:25-28), natural to sin to holy nature that loves to obey God and natural not to sin (1 John 3:1-10), loving sins to hating sins, not understanding the bible (1 Corinthians 2:14) to understanding the bible (2 Corinthians 3:14-18), suffer from being bored to never suffer from being bored ever again (A day is like a few minutes to me), fear of death to no more fear of death (Hebrews 2:14-15 and John 4:18), not obeying God to obeying God, no faith in God to having a lot of faith in God (Matthew 8:5-10, Luke 7:6-10, Matthew 21:21, James 1:5-8, pray for the right reasons=James 4:1-3), no hope to having hope, can’t love to can love (Only God's love can fill that void, other types of love won't satisfy), being angry quickly to no more anger at all and having a lot of self control, no purpose in life to having a purpose in life, empty to satisfied, no peace in your soul to having great peace in your soul (Isaiah 57:14-20 and Matthew 11:28-30), ungodly desires to holy desires, guilty to forgiven, God changes you from a sinner to a saint and so much more.

1 Peter 4:1-4

King James Version

4 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

If you find out you are one of God's elect, pray to God for everything=God will causes events to happen to answer your prayers.

If you find you are nonelect, forget everything to do with God and enjoy a normal life as you can.

Total Depravity - As a result of Adam’s fall, the entire human race is affected; all humanity is dead in trespasses and sins. Man is unable to save himself (Genesis 6:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10-18).

Unconditional Election - Because man is dead in sin, he is unable to initiate a response to God; therefore, in eternity past God elected certain people to salvation. Election and predestination are unconditional; they are not based on man’s response (Romans 8:29-30;9:11; Ephesians 1:4-6, 11-12) because man is unable to respond, nor does he want to.

Limited Atonement - Because God determined that certain ones should be saved as a result of God’s unconditional election, He determined that Christ should die for the elect alone. All whom God has elected and for whom Christ died will be saved (Matthew 1:21; John 10:11; 17:9; Acts 20:28; Romans 8:32; Ephesians 5:25).

Irresistible Grace - Those whom God elected He draws to Himself through irresistible grace. God makes man willing to come to Him. When God calls, man responds (John 6:37, 44; 10:16).

Perseverance of the Saints - The precise ones God has elected and drawn to Himself through the Holy Spirit will persevere in faith. None whom God has elected will be lost; they are eternally secure (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 1:3-14).

In my opinion, you're "getting there." I say this because of the two references to the Ezekiel passages; Ezekiel 11:19-20 and Ezekiel 36:25-27. Those two passage sets fall very, very close to explaining the "How," or the Work of the Gospel. Better yet, the Ezekiel passages do not explain "How" the Heart is changed. It isn't until a person understands "How" a heart is changed that they are then able to determine if that Work has been performed upon their Heart. For, when a person understands the "How" of the Work of Christ, they can then understand the Effect of Christ. If a person does not understand the Effect of Christ, they will not, and cannot understand the Work of Christ.

Above, provided was all description of the Gospel, but it was not explained. The explanation of the Gospel is to be supported by the passages provided above. But, the above passages do not grant the full knowledge of the Gospel.

One massive suggestion . . . stop reading commentary and stick with the Bible. You will NOT find the Truth, nor the Gospel, in any commentary. Leave that Skubalon alone . . . all of it. Do yourself a favor to do not read from a commentary for at least one, if not two entire years. Turn to God for the Truth, not some human that has no clue as to the explanation of the Gospel.

Again, you are 100% on track with the Ezekiel passages . . . they will lead you deeper to the Truth. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking . . . but you must ask the Lord. You must seek the Lord. You must knock on the Door of God, and this cannot be done by reading the crap from commentaries. I said it . . . it's crap. And if you accept my tip, which is to stop reading commentary for at least one year, hopefully, two, I doubt you'll ever go back to it again.

Respectfully,

David

All of God's elects will have their sinful nature removed, when God gives the Holy Spirit to them.
Close. The Circumcision of the Heart is the first Work of Christ. After this Work is done, three more basic Works are given before one is made "Right" with God.

Romans 3:25-26 NLT - "For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus."

Above, these passages are referencing our Patriarchs and Matriarchs . . . they received all of the Work of Christ, but the final Work is Christ paying for the debt of our sin on the cross.

The Works of Christ are:

1) Circumcision of Heart
2) Granting the ability to Turn and Repent
3) Granting the Gift of the Holy Spirit
4) Christ on the cross pays the debt for our sin

The first three Works were issued in the Old Testament, but those before Christ had to wait so that they could finally be "made right with God." Yes, they were made right with Christ, but not with God. This means that they were Pure, Righteous, and Holy, but they were not yet made Right with God . . . this could not have happened until the Day of Christ and His Work on the cross.

For those of us today, we may receive all of these Works in the blink of an eye, however, it [does] seem possible that one's Heart may be Circumcised of the Sinful Nature, as you have wonderfully stated above, but this does not necessarily translate into the reception of the Spirit, which you also indicated.

You are so incredibly close . . . it is amazing!

Definition of sinful nature=habitual sinning and can't stop sinning that they don't even need to be tempted.
Sinful nature is removed when God gives the Holy Spirit to his elect. God will never give the Holy Spirit to the nonelect, nonelects should just live a normal life and forget everything to do with God.
I assume 99% of the world's population (I know the majority of world's population are nonelects) are nonelects.

holy nature of Jesus=It's supernatural that temptation rarely/occasionally happens because you remove all sources of sin and focus only on Godly things. Sources of sin=TV, movies, watching sports (violence like football, covet their lives and they are idols), novels, music, video games and computer games are all sins, except Christian stuff that don’t have sins like sermons. You can be tempted/tested but pray to God to reject the temptation like Jesus. Holy Spirit has an affect of permanent cure to boredom.

The gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16) To "believe" the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation.

Oh but there was - for God preached the Gospel thru Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

The Gospel is truly by Faith, just as Abraham believed God and God credited to him Righteousness.
The gospel is all about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for sins. That gospel message was not preached to Abraham. That is clear.

Gospel of God preached by God in Genesis 3:14-24 and Exodus 3:15

So the LORD God said to the serpent:
“Because you have done this,
cursed are you above all livestock
and every beast of the field!
On your belly will you go,
and dust you will eat,
all the days of your life.
And I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your seed and her seed.
He will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.

And the LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them.

God also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—
the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob—has sent me to you.’
This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

So, if I read this story to someone and they believed this scripture, (with no mention of Jesus Christ and His death, burial and resurrection) would that person be saved?
