I live in a small town and churhes in my area have no single ministies. I just left a meg church becasue it was too big and no resorces to meet other single christians. I turn 37 Saturday and am struggling with being single and no friends. Anyone have any advice for me?

I can't believe no one has replied to you. I apologize on behalf of this forum.

Are there any larger towns near where you live? Maybe you should find out if there are groups or churches there that you can get involved in.

Jesusfreak i have kinda the same problem too, churches seem to be really lacking in singles ministires, especially in smaller churches im considering moving to a larger church where there seems to be more going on for singles. ive found getting involved in christian voluntry ministries has also opened opportunities to make new friends male and female of different ages...

I live in an extremely small town. A few friends went and visited all of the churches in town and asked the Pastors to start announcing interdenominational singles activities. Hiking, music, movie night, dinner at a restaurant visiting the city etc. They put together a email list and sent out meeting announcements. It was weird at first but there seems to be a core group now and it's nice to have made some more friends.

I think if the opportunity doesn't exist, you should bring it up. Maybe it has been done in the past, and everyone got married and it didn't need to be there anymore. Or the pastor just hasn't thought about it. A lot of activities in our church are geared toward families, but singles are never un-welcomed.

Sorry you are going through this, but I really am a person if something doesn't exist, I create it. :) Good luck to you.

Good point. There's probably people around you hoping for the same thing.

And allforfun is right-family groups love to pamper and spoil the singles so don't be shy about interacting with them!
