yes there’s a steady decline through time as man became more sinful
in the beginning there was life in his presence
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”
Genesis 2:7
“And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

but then transgression and death after almost a thousand year life

But then again life is shortened by God the creators word because of wickedness of man

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.”

and so on until you get to 70-80 years being a long blessed life. But the good news for us is
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

I see nothing but confusion here about the 120 years. Man was living longer than 120 years for more than 20 generations after Adam and more than 12 generations after the flood. Have you considered that the Lord gave the ancient world 120 years to repent before the flood?
The book of Jasher which is mentioned in the bible twice says the following:

I believe that no one or nothing enters or leaves this earth without the knowledge of the Lord.
The life span of each is in the hands of the Lord.
The question then is what have you done with your life be it short or long ...as peter points out it only a vapor compared to eternity.
The two greatest moments of anyone's life is the time of birth and the reason of why.
Being pilgrims on this earth speaks volumes to those that meditate on this saying.
"For you were born for such a time as this".
Sadly there are some that never rise to there calling. That toil and endure and meet the grave without hope.
But we are to be mindful of our time here, to count the days and give thanks to the blessings in them.
Regardless of the agenda of this world, God's agenda will prevail.
That his word and his ways are truth and life more abundant. That salvation is only found in him.
Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all shall be added to you.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart lean not to your own understanding, acknowledge him in all your ways and he shall direct your path.
Truth of the matter is that on that day all shall give a account for there life.
For it is appointed for man to die once...then the judgement.
