have anyone ever went to a church and the atmosphere didnt feel right.and felt like heaviness and filled with a sad and depressed feeling.then they start playing the band and that also sounds like some dreadful music.well i have and i had to stop going there because i would leave and go home with the same feeling and attitude.but now im going to a different church and feel much better there.

I went to church just a couple times, but it just didn't work out for me. My own interpretation of God and the Bible are important to me and in church I got the feeling that they want to create another you with their interpretation of God and the Bible.

But if you feel good in church, I think you should definately keep going.
 
Weeeell, no. I haven't been in a church that felt like that. But I have been in one that felt... dead. *shrugs* Some life would've been good in there. The music could use some joy. :D
 
Interesting, I go to church often and it gives me some kind of inner happiness..
 
Emotions are a terrible guide. They are easily betrayed, easily tricked, and unfortunately love to take hold of us.

If you are walking with the Lord, your emotions can tell you when something is wrong. The Spirit may move you to feel heaviness in your heart if something is not right. I wept in church before because the atmosphere was so depressing. The pastor was speaking empty words and his message was not filled with the gospel.

But at the same time, if you are at a church and you just don't like the way their music sounds, those are emotions you need to set aside. Emotions need to be dealt with objectively--looking at all factors: what the facts are in each situation and why you feel the way you feel.

It would be easy to blame all of our spiritual problems on 'church'. But guess what, every single person in church is a sinner. There are some saved sinners and some unsaved sinners there. Only God knows who the truly saved are.

Looking down your nose at them doesn't help your situation one bit. When we stand in front of the throne, we will not be asked 'how the others did' but 'how did YOU do?'

Yes, some churches do seem spiritually dead...so go find another one. But also, don't sit in the pews and expect everyone else to feed you. You need to do some feeding too.
