I'm horribly bored...
At the same time as the quarantines started I noticed a new pain in my knee and thought it would get better...it didn't and my wife made me go get it checked out.

Okay so the results came back that I'm out of the climbing ladder business. Meaning I need a new career. (Electrician).

So I'm looking for a job. (My wife makes plenty for our needs so I'm not financially in hardship) Because I always am wanting new toys.

So...I answered an ad looking for a person who has some abilities I happen to have. (I have three separate degrees in various fields and capable of going further but just lack motivation)

So they sent me a rejection letter:

Dear "John",
After weeks of deliberation we have decided to go with another candidate we feel will likely be a better fit.
During your interview you Expressed irritation about our interviewer "wasting your time" by being late to the interview and more irritation about the salary that was being offered which we did not post in our advertisement. We didn't want people to take the job just for the money which when explained to you, your reply of "What money?" Was viewed negatively by our interviewers...

We will keep your application on file for 6 months should something come up.

Sincerely...
.
.

So it looks like the search continues....

So why you angry ? we should not angry even we want, but keep peace in mind.

Dude!
It was something of a joke. A bit of humor.

There's a lot of low paying jobs available for low skill and moderate skilled labor. Even more for people like me who have a lot of skills.

I wasn't interested in the job. It didn't pay anything for the work they wanted done. So I was refusing the job...but they are acting like they are refusing me. I'm not smart but I ain't dumb. You don't give away your talents for free unless that's what you want to do. I want a paycheck...that's why I want a job. There's the whole reason for working...wages.

I am not going to work for almost minimum wage at a job that should pay just shy of 6 figures. That's insane. And their being late to the meeting showed me they never have any respect for those people they employ.
The offered salary confirmed it.

The only thing they are interested in is self promotion. So they can keep their job.

You did the right thing. Candidates should not humiliate themselves during an interview to get a job. Unfortunately, the hiring culture is in decline because low-skilled specialists are ready to do anything to get a place in the company.

I'm laughing!
Not that it's funny, it's just, if you knew where I'm coming from with this you'd likely laugh too.

First off, a "Dear John" letter when your name is John.....
The irony

But seriously, this seems like looking in a mirror since it is way to similar to what my husband has recently been experiencing.
Heck, he's got more education and experience (job wise and life wise) than the people doing the interviews.

At least you got a letter. He got an email saying:
"sorry we didn't pick you. The guy we hired didn't work out. He only stayed 2 weeks. Can you reapply?"

 I was going to say "gee, what about the coffee shop thingy?" but then I realized he date on your OP was (I think ) before you opened...
So, how's the coffee shop going?

I extracted myself from the coffeeshop/bakery....

Now they sell coffee.

The partnership didn't work out. I was a success as a baker...started to make good profits and volume was on track to be a solid concern and concept.

Except my partner was a jerk. I couldn't stand working with him anymore. The better I did the worse he behaved. I had over 80% of the sales. Glowing reviews everywhere and a steady stream of regulars coming back every day and week.
So now I'm moving out of state. Buying an old victorian house built in the late 1800's and gonna update and fix it up. It's quite livable now but needs some maintenance.
Gonna see about getting a job and paying for the updates.

Gee, sorry to hear that  you seemed so excited to get it going.
Good luck with the house though, that sounds fun and exciting.

I had fun putting it all together and etc...

But I also am a man of several talents and thoroughly enjoy all of them. So the utilizing of other talents won't be a bother in the least. I'll enjoy it and since I have always been itinerant the adventure is beginning anew.

You don't really get to know a place until you have lived there for a while. And I know this place too well. I need another place. So I'm having a good time.

Besides...

Psalms 32:8

It's kinda nice

I think that telling my church family/friends is going to be the hard part in all of this.
I'm going to miss them.
