The angel is just saying that he is a servant of God, like John and his fellow prophets.

G32 ἄγγελος aggelos; to bring tidings; a messenger; especially an “angel”; by implication a pastor: - angel, messenger.
Those saying the "angel" was a messenger are correct, even if they did come to it sideways. The messenger can be a man, a heavenly being, and even Jesus (who is God) Himself appeard as a messenger/angel to Abraham at the Oaks of Mamre (along with 2 heavenly messengers/"angels").
Since this was a vision of heaven it could have been a dead prophet. Not sure about that though. It's a vision so the dead prophet could have been just been an image in his mind.
And by the way, the term typically translated "angel" in the OT is "malach," which means the same; "messenger."

That its easy to make the mistake of worshipping God's messengers instead of God alone.

I think the word we're looking for in intimidating.
Don't know about anyone else but to see a angel, any kind of being in the realm of heaven in all its glory ....I'd be hard pressed not to do a little knee bending
But doesn't this tell you a little bit about john too. How humble he was? That's what I take on this.
I'd rather be corrected in rebuke rather than disciplined for pride.

I don't know that these men were in their glorified bodies, I think they were. If the pre-trib view is correct, the rapture has taken place the instant John is called to heaven in his vision.
That would mean all the saints in heaven at the time of John's vision were glorified.
John was raptured but not anyone else with him so it's not proof of pre-trib. Paul and Christ placed the rapture post-trib so that is the only valid position if one is going to go by what the bible says about when it happens.
John was a symbol of the rapture taking place. No need to get into this again, we see it the way we see it. Nothing will change that.
amen angels were the source of the ot prophets heavenly messengers who spoke Gods word to Men. Many times we account angels speaking for God.
