What are we doing for Jesus is really glorifying His name?

• Amo 5:21-24 -> “ “I hate, I despise your feasts, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies. Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; and the peace offerings of your fattened animals, I will not look upon them. Take away from me the noise of your songs; to the melody of your harps I will not listen. But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” ”.

Many Israelites thought that they were delighting Jesus with their ritual (as Jesus’ followers think that what they do in their religious institution pleases Him).

Although the Creator enjoined rituals in the Old Testament, the main reason for these rituals was beyond their desire to know. They served the Creator in order to receive His boons and, with them, worship the gods which they could control:

• Amo 5:25,26 -> “Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings during the forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel? You shall take up Sikkuth your king, and Kiyyun your star-god—your images that you made for yourselves,”.

And the history didn’t change! What everyone aches for is having everything under their control. And I believe that, many times, Jesus let something come about us so that we can feel how hard is the yoke of take over all the world in our backs.

I know what you are thinking: “but, when something happens, we need to sort this out!”. Yes, but we need to seek Jesus’ direction and rest in His solution.

Our life needs to be simple, not too complicated. Otherwise, we will be very tired and distant of Jesus. The Creator said this:

• Isa 48:17,18 -> “Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:”.

We need to conform our heart to what Jesus conquered for us (Ps 131:1,2; 1Cor 2:9; Eph 1:3; 2Pe 1:3).

Moreover, we need to go out, enjoy the nature, walk into the True Life (John 14:6) and let go all the obsessions in our heart. As people who believe in Jesus, we need to understand our own life and Jesus’ life. Only thus, we can see what is our true reality and, thus, give in to Jesus and all His will. Otherwise, how can we help and teach others? How to glorify Jesus in their life?

The Creator was clear:

• Eze 14:7 -> “For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:”.

So, have a good day emptying your heart of everything that is occupying Jesus’ place, even a single room. Only when Jesus is the Lord in every place within our heart, He will be able to do all His prodigious that He so much wish to do in us, through us and for us.
