1Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Tell those who prophesy out of their own imagination: Hear the word of the LORD! 3This is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, yet have seen nothing. 4Your prophets, O Israel, are like foxes among the ruins. 5You did not go up to the gaps or restore the wall around the house of Israel so that it would stand in the battle on the Day of the LORD.

6They see false visions and speak lying divinations. They claim, ‘Thus declares the LORD,’ when the LORD did not send them; yet they wait for the fulfillment of their message.

7Haven’t you seen a false vision and spoken a lying divination when you proclaim, ‘Thus declares the LORD,’ even though I have not spoken?

8Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you have uttered vain words and seen false visions, I am against you, declares the Lord GOD.

17Now, O son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own imagination. Prophesy against them 18and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on their wrists and make veils for the heads of people of every height, in order to ensnare their souls. Will you ensnare the souls of My people but preserve your own? 19You have profaned Me among My people for handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to My people who would listen, you have killed those who should not have died and spared those who should not have lived.

Ezekiel 13

apparently God does not care for those who put words in His mouth.

read the entire chapter for a better understanding of how God responds to the liars who say 'God told me to tell you' when He never said a thing
We haven't been under the old testament for 2,000 years
Jesus was clear that in Him, ALL things are new.
All means all.

oh please

so what then?

God no longer cares about false prophecies and people putting words in His mouth?

He does care. look at the world. do you think it would be the way it is if all these false prophets and their mockery of actual prophecy were speaking for God?

we are on the edge of a precipice. no one is going to make Jesus come back with their words. when God Himself speaks is when something will happen

It's not a case of what Testament we are in.

Duh, of course He cares, and brings righteous judgement, in His time, and He is never late.
You arguing against the words of Jesus, you are old enough to know you shouldn't do that.
We are to take everything to Him for His guidance in who we listen to and weigh their words, it's all relationship and walking with Him, 24/7/365, Holy spirit only tells truth.

I don't want to get into it with you

we are discussing false prophets here and not personal relationship with our Savior...Who, by the way, is mocked in many cases by said false prophets

Sorry for the sintax errors, spelling and such. He doesn't deal with man the way He did in the Old Testament.

On the contrary, Paul spoke of how THIS is the day they were all looking to, to be in relationship with Jesus forever.

But the story doesn't end there. Recently a Prophetic Standards Statement was issued and signed by a group that's made up nearly entirely of people from the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). I'll post a few of the more ridiculous notions and comment on them; but you really have to read the whole thing for yourself to get a sense of how ominous it really is.
I realise that this secondary statement is secondary - but can I ask why of the by now 890 signatories (Friday 21.01/2022 21:11hrs BST) you say that almost the entirety are of the NAR? That designation is a severe one given the severe character of that movement. Or are you saying that the NAR drafted the statement?

kindly show us where it is written in the NT, that God winks at sin now

or perhaps enjoys listening to the ruckus of false prophecies being proliferated around the globe

I have looked, but I cannot find it

so it must be up to you to show us how God is now ok with liars...because that is what a person is who goes about saying God said and in reality, God said nada

hint: there is a clue in Revelation about whether or not God now is ok with liars

again, no one questions being in relationship with Christ or for that matter other members of the body, but this thread is not about that

unless of course you wish to discuss the terrible harm perpetuated by false representations of God upon the body corporate

we can talk about that if you like

You have zero grasp of how God works by the Holy Spirit.
He doesn't, I have seen that guy and am not very impressed via the little I saw. Having the holy spirit reveal things and then trying to say what they mean can be tricky, we are still flesh human beings, we see darkly. So, Gid gave "Thus Saith the Lord Prophets a different calling, many went into the desert/wilderness and God could dictate unto them line by line without influence by other men. And at times, like with Daniel, God would reveal something, then he made Gabriel or other angels explain it, but why? Because God knew it was still confusing to Daniel. So what if Gabriel had not explained these things in detail, cold Daniel have gotten it right? Thus when it coms to Prophecy, Gabriel can't be going around every 5 seconds revealing things. So, sometimes the interpretation may be wrong.

Of course this guy may not even believe the holy spirit actually is stull in operation. Satan accuses the brothers daily, so when I see someone who always accentuates the negative, I am wary of them tbh.

Think it was Kansas city prophets...I read somwhere they were all coming from there and ihop (not international house of pancakes...the other one)
and Bethel church.

Not sure how it started but the mass of literature I had to sift through when sorting out library books was all the junk and false teachings that they had perpetuated.

On one hand was all this prophetic stuff that was going crazy
and then the other hand was this end of the world rapture stuff by the Left Behind brigade.

Troy Black's obviously a false prophet; it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. What's surprising to me is all his followers who apparently can't see it. All one can do is hope and pray that some of them will eventually come around to the truth.

I wouldnt get too caught up in what every one else thinks - esp you-tube vids by haters who got nothing better to do

If you stick with just the Bible you cant go wrong
if someone is in a cult or even many people are you cant just shut it down...people will believe what they want to believe. Unfortunately there are many false gospels and people misrepresenting who Jesus is.

People just have to make up their own minds and yes, people like to believe what works for them. Even if its a chicken gut miracle, what else do they have. Are you offering any better?

If you know the truth, then dont invite anyone telling you otherwise into your home. You'll be hard pressed to get rid of them. Cherish what you have.

My next door neighbours are mormons...do I go round telling them what they believe is fantasy? Or trashing their gated church? do I start an argument with staunch catholics? Or try and one up a reformed baptist who think they are the chosen ones and everyone else is doomed? I suppose I could but it takes too much time and energy and what would I really accomplish.

#163, in the old testament he had to deal because there was no propitation for sin.
https://biblehub.com/sermons/auth/new/propitiation_for_sin.htm
that is a non answer

a false prophet is one who says they speak for God yet they are lying, they do not speak for God

there was an extensive system of sacrifice in the OT, but no sacrifice for false propherts
'
you might recall the punishment for being a false prophet was stoning to death

in Revelation, we are told that liars are not included in the Lamb's book of life = death

and you really need to stop following my posts and xing them and putting thumbs down. it is unsuitable for someone who describes themselves as a Christian that refrains from such vindictive behavior.

just put me on ignore. you certainly have changed colors.
