I know they are not the same. I just categorized them in a lump sum because in the USA they are very similar. Now, they are all German Descent and speak fluent German, and some go to the Mennonite Church, some to the Amish Church, which broke off from the Mennonite Church.

My point is, I know why you believe as you do.

Theoretically Speaking here, it's not actually lined up to the Bible!
So, then why and what I believe ?
Nor I believe that menonite theologie is 100% correct, nor I believe the russiangerman
Theologie is right in 100%.
Its depend in their bases to the word of God.

You did not answer to my reply to you. Or do you Set equal speaking in toungues and have the Holy Spirit?
By the way, every believer has a spiritual connection to God the father.
If you are interested the bible gives the answer: Acts 2:1-4, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:44-48, 19:1-6.

Without having received the infilling of the Holy Ghost a person remains disconnected from God.

Paul said he [[wished]] everyone Spoke in Tongues.

A Wish does not mean they all could. Just means he wished they could. No one has to Speak in Tongues to be saved, they just need to Accept Christ as Lord and Savior!
Yes, but this is not the point. Some believe or suggestvthat speaking in tongues is for all who search it.
And this is not biblical teaching.

This is no proof! This were events which made clear to the jews that thecHoly Spirit makes no difference!
Btw Acts was not written when Paul wrote his letter to the Cotinthians. And 1. COR 12,3P says clear that not all Christians will receive the gift of speaking in tongues.

Hello Shittim,

Your definition of Christian is not necessarily accurate because of the many different stages of maturity which involves the renewing of our mind and love for God and others.

Many "backsliders" are Christian, they are need of putting God first - it's with God's Word and God's Holy Spirit that we mature and learn to take up our cross, deny ourselves and follow Jesus Christ.

All true believers are sealed with the Holy Spirit and have received the incorruptible Seed of the Word of God but, need to tarry for the empowering of the Holy Spirit by receiving the Baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Much like a cell phone - We're saved (God takes ownership of us - we belong to Jesus Christ) but, we need to be "activated" - empowered to work and operate - receive voice commands, send and receive messages, etc.

Christ came to the Earth to save us, the Holy Spirit is now doing a "work" on the Earth in all believers by guiding, counseling, teaching, instructing, correcting, comforting and empowering us to do the "works" of God in the "power" of God with God's "authority."

It's a process. I hesitate greatly to say someone is a Christian or not - that's God's department. He knows the difference between the wheat and the tares. We must grow up together until Harvest!(y)
It took me a long time to arrive at this understanding...thanks for laying it out so clearly! Shalom.

Yes it is a process, and we know the 12 followed Him immediately, the process was seconds for them to leave the world behind and know Him personnally.
Our model is the first century church and there are very few bodies of believers who model this. We are ALL called to heal, cleanse, cast out and do the work.
The goal to reach where people will look at us and see Jesus, not merely go to a place once a week and listen to someone talk about Jesus.
Great to see you sister!

My thought is....many adopt a interpretation of scripture...without validation.... only to back themselves in a corner and when they discover correct use they then protect egos and will literally sacrifice their righteousness.

Very sad.
Yes, this happens when a person is seeking knowledge but NOT seeking Truth. It is the difference between pride and humility.

And He is, don't you feel it? How many of us can see improvement and growth in ourselves since a year or 5 ago? That is as it should be.:)

Did you hear the one about the dad whose kids bought him a button that said "I'm Humble!", but everytime he put it on they made him take it off (for not being humble).

Well, i come from lutheran/Protestantism Background. And learned that I am a Christian, because i was baptised as Baby. I rejected Jesus when I was 17 and met a christian who told me that I must believe in Jesus. I told her then that i have my own believe in God.
When I was 25, Jesus opend my heart for his word. I repent and turned to Christ. I left the lutheran church and the Pastor who baptised me as Baby was upset about my new believe.

Of course their are believers under the lutheren or catholics, but very less compare to the rest.
we cannot help what goes on when we are an infant...we both decided for Christ when we were capable of doing so

I was also taught that tongues were not for today, but that was not the end of it for me

a family member began a friendship with a woman who did speak in tongues and slowly my family began to see and understand more of the Bible and less of what 'denominations' teach

I am opposed to all the crazy things that sadly define so many things about that gift to too many people, but God is not the author of confusion...I believe you have quoted that yourself a few times in times past...and you are correct and I also believe that

in the end, a person has to decide for themself how to approach these things....I would be asking, and I was asking, how can there be such different opinions on this gift? so I decided to find out more about what the other side was saying and I prayed about it and I did begin to speak in tongues right away. I was alone....no one pressured me (I would have walked away because I like to make up my own mind and don't like force) and I knew it was real and that God had not only shown me it was real, but He had enabled me to have that gift also.

I am not a 'gift' seeker even though Paul in the NT tells us we should pray for certain gifts. basically I only want reality and the truth and God as He is and not as others see Him, but as He is

no one can force you Aidan....understand, please, that those of us who know tongues are real and who know there is abuse but still know that does not change what is real, are wanting to share what we have found because it has blessed us and brought us closer to God and we want to share that

why do people act crazy? I can only say it is because they do not follow the Bible and just accept any thing whispered into their ears as coming from God when the Bible tells us to 'test' the spirits because not everything we are going to hear is coming from God

I have heard plenty of what some people think is God and I know it is not....but be certain of one thing....people will hold onto their own experience, thoughts and beliefs for the most part as this and many other threads here have shown

I can relate both good and bad regarding the use of tongues...but none of that reflects on God....it reflects only on the person and we either bring glory or shame to God...the shame is in how others view the wrong use and people who think the gifts are all about them instead of for the building up of others who believe and at the same time benefitting the person who is praying or speaking or translating

anyway this is pretty long....I am sure you will have some difficulty understanding some of it and translation online is not always accurate, so please ask any questions you want...or not

you and I have had many discussions on this Wansvic and I don't know how many times it has been pointed out to you that a person is sealed with the Holy Spirit when they first believe

the ways and means of our salvation as individuals are many and there is only one way to be saved and one Name under Heaven by which we come to that salvation

notice, I did not say there are many ways to God. ONE Way, ONE truth and ONE Life given for us.

Great to see you sister!
Is it possible that Peter was "backsliding" when he denied Jesus 3 times....or when Jesus had to address Peter as "Satan get behind me"?

Then, there is Judas Iscariot that was chosen and Jesus knew he was a devil....and would betray Him. Judas Iscariot was a "tare" among the "wheat."

Yet, look at the disciple John...just focused on "loving" Jesus.....:giggle::love:

ALL that follow Jesus Christ....only Jesus Christ knows who they REALLY are... we do not.

Our model is Jesus Christ. I'm keeping my eyes on Him! :geek::love:(y)

The Holy Spirit is our Helper, watching over us. He will lead us and guide us into all Truth and empower us to do the works of Christ - heal, cleanse, cast out demons, preach the gospel, etc.

Much love to you Shittim! You are a blessing to me! It is an honor to be your sister in Christ!(y)

oh believe me, there have been times I wish it would be over ;)

if we agree in Christ...who He is and all that He has done for us....then it would seem we are still one in Him

while we struggle on this earth and wrestle...sometimes like Jacob in the wilderness demanding a blessing...it seems we can only agree in Him....and that is probably the best part anyway since He alone makes that possible

I will try to understand better....I hope you do also

"Is it possible that Peter was "backsliding" when he denied Jesus 3 times....or when Jesus had to address Peter as "Satan get behind me"?"

It is my understanding before Holy Spirit came at Pentecost they were operating under Jesus authority, under His anounting, fulfilling the scripture "I will strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter", following Pentecost when Holy Spirit was poured out, then they would go to their death before denying Him.

Yes, Judas received the same anointing from Jesus, learned the same teachings , etc, and we know how that turned out. We all must 'wear well to the end".

Yes. As you mentioned we disagree when a person actually receives the Holy Ghost. You mention people are sealed when they believe. But your and my understanding of what that means differs. Believe what is the question. Believing the entire message results in one receiving the Holy Ghost. Belief prompts action that brings about the sealing of the Holy Ghost.

I am convinced from the Word that a person does not automatically receive the Holy Ghost the moment they believe the gospel message. Why? I'll provide a couple of the reasons. One, I am reminded of Paul's question to the Ephesus disciples: Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? This question indicates receiving the Holy Ghost does not automatically occur at the time one believes the gospel message. The Samaritan's did not receive the Holy Ghost when they believed either. Peter and John assisted in the Samaritans receiving the Holy Ghost days after they believed Philip's message and were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

i provided these as well as other scriptures previously so I don't imagine this post will change your mind. And that's ok.

Yep, that is true. It's a "religious spirit" NOT the Holy Spirit the person is relying on.

A religious spirit is rooted in pride and puffed up with vain human reasoning knowledge of the scriptures...this is where all the different denominations and doctrines of man and devils come from.

A person with a religious spirit has to deny the Holy Spirit which is the "power" because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and those that operate in pride reject the Truth.
I have a Leviathan spirit, a Jezebel spirit and a Religious spirit. Do you know of one book I can purchase to get rid of all three or will I have to buy three separate books? You think books will be enough or will I need a seminar or DVDs too?
