It does not match what we read in the bible about casting out demons. In the bible they were commanded and they came out. None of this prolonged acting out something seen in movies.
In the book of Acts, Paul cast out the spirit of divination from the slave girl and it came out within the hour.

Which indicates that it remained in the girl for a short period of time after Paul commanded it to leave.

What is TRUE DELIVERANCE?

For all those who are involved in ministry it will be most helpful to the people that you minister to if you can walk them through scriptures about how to overcome sin through the sanctification process of resisting the devil, submitting to God and overcoming one temptation at a time building on those successes until they are strong.

And to do this one must learn to embrace the suffering (temporary suffering) that is associated with saying no to a particular sin. This suffering (let's call it withdrawal) is temporary and after winning a few battles by saying no to the temptation, the desire that causes the suffering when resisting goes away and one becomes repulsed, or unattracted to the thing one was once a slave to.

This process results eventually no longer experiencing a 'suffering' when saying no, as the temptation itself is gone and no longer plagues the mind and flesh as it did at the beginning of the resisting process. There is no short cut for getting victory over sins of the flesh. No one casting out a demon over you will be able to circumvent the path of you having to resist and say no and overcome the temptations one battle at a time.

And I always encourage the person that this process is much faster than you ever imagined. Those things they have been wanting to be freed from for years will be gone in a matter of days and weeks once they get serious enough to tell the Lord that they are willing to die suffering withdrawal than to deliberately sin against the Lord whom they love again with this sin. In a week or two they will be rejoicing and telling everyone how God delivered them. THAT IS TRUE DELIVERANCE.

I do believe, while I agree with you, @Amanuensis,

that some are oppressed by the demonic and that those demons do influence them to commit sins and they cannot very easily gain the victory that you have described without being delivered from the influence of the demons.

I do not see anything in the word of God that teaches or shows a Born- again Christian Spirit-filled can be demon-possessed.

There are no examples of one after the resurrected Lord and His ascension. Nor were chritians saved until HIS resurrection.

Ananias having the influence of Satan in his heart did not mean he was possessed by the devil. Peter was told by Jesus that flesh and blood did not reveal to him who Jesus is when asked by the Lord.

Not too many verses in that same chapter, Jesus tells Satan to get behind me as he spoke to Peter. That rebuke was not a possession of the devil in Peter but of one of the flesh from Peter if satan had possessed Peter would not have Jesus said Come out of HIM as HE DID IN EVER situation where a person was demon-possessed?
Satan certainly put the idea into Peter's head. But no, he was not possessed. There are different degrees of bondage to demons. Very few people are possessed in the sense of having no control at all. Those people usually seek to be possessed in order to receive more of Satan's power.

There is a reason why we are commanded to resist the devil. If we do not, we will become more and more controlled by his agents, which are demons and evil spirits. We do not wrestle with flesh and blood. The battle is primarily in the mind. Demons have access to the mind of man. They will float thoughts into the mind of a Christian, hoping to get his agreement .Those thoughts will match the personality of a person. The more self confident will be tempted with thoughts of grandiose schemes of leading revival, TV ministry or great success in ministry. The more introverted and self focused will be put down, reminded of failure and told how hopeless they are.

Evil spirits and demons occupy the soul, with the intent of controlling the will. In some cases, the demon can be driven out and the victory won. In others, it is necessary to push back against the evil spirits until they relinquish their hold.

Maybe an example will help. I, like most men, was bound by a lust demon. I became more and more oppressed until I had imaginations like porno movies running through my mind continually. I met a Pastor who had a number of the gifts of the Spirit, including discernment of spirits. He told me my problem even though I'd said nothing - I was too ashamed. I agreed and he cast the demon out of me. The "movies" stopped immediately.

From then on, I had to resist the imaginations that came from time to time. It was nothing like before, but I did not want to be captured again.

I had another problem that had to be dealt with differently. It was passivity, a polite word for laziness. It translates as "can't be bothered" in practice. It was a gradual descent, like a creeping paralysis. I'd have things to do but I kept putting them off. I spoke to the pastor about it. He'd suffered from the same problem. He was a most active man usually, but passivity had grabbed hold of him at one time.

In this case, the answer was to get active again. I started doing things for the sake of it. I had to force myself to say that "later" was too late. Proverbs has good things to say about this. It took a while to become passive and it was a long road back to normal.

Satan and God are both after the same thing. That is the cooperation of man's will. Satan will do anything, lie, deceive, threaten, promise, he has no scruples. God does everything according to His holy character and righteous nature. God never violates our will. Satan tries to coerce us all the time.

Our enemy is ignorance. The war is won already. But we must enforce the victory for ourselves, and sometimes for the brethren. Ignorance is not bliss, it is dangerous. God's people are still being destroyed because of their lack of knowledge.

That is completely false since the Holy Spirit indwells genuine Christians. Demons can influence and oppress, but that is not the same as "possess".
The Holy Spirit indwells the spirit of the born again Christian. Demons can inhabit the soul. No one is so deeply in bondage that they cannot be released. The account of the man possessed by Legion testifies to that.

I think it shameful that so many Christians are bound by evil spirits while deliverance is so simple and effective. The hard part is teaching people how to stay free. But they must be set free first.

There was a time when this was completely uncontroversial. As the church has declined spiritually, so has its willingness to minister deliverance. I believe that the two issues are inextricably linked.

Be interested in what you think of A. Gardiner`s writing.
I'll be sure to let you know sister. I did a quick skim read of all fifteen chapters in about an hour. It's the size of a Master of Divinity thesis. I was somewhat surprised by the subject - in as much as I was surprised by the US and Iraq meaning set in an Islamic jurisprudent eschatology. I was also taken by the British Empire (confederacy) meaning - what is called pax Britannica in historical terms because the Islam - Religion of Peace became visible out of Egypt and the battle of the River Plate under British rule in both its religious meaning - Peace with Allah (lesser Jihad (Medina)) and then in its religious meaning out of India - Ahmadi messianic doctrine and a putting away of lesser Jihad in favour of greater Jihad (Mecca). It mirrors Qur'an and it didn't really become visible until the 19th Century in the Meccan recitation as Greater Jihad as a sense of Noble Islam - whereas the Medinan recitation is murderous and barbaric - the so-called Lesser Jihad.

I was also taken by the Mossad link reference and the significance of that with a WWII German super gun - that I will have to research to verify - but I was especially taken by the reference to Saddam Hussain (Baath Party) because I worked with a former Islamic Scholar and jurisprudent Imam who did his PhD in Hadith Science in Mecca and his grandfather was an Imam to Hussain in a Mosque in Iraq. The book seems to be somewhat detailed in once sense but I think I will read it more carefully because it is a theme I tend to have ignored myself - not because I can't see the relevance prophetically - but rather because I have been called to the house and to the issue of apostasy with its helping hand to the end time events eluded to in the book.

I saw this woman on FB and then on Youtube and her deliverance ministry. I am posting this because I see she is part of the church known as 5Fold Church.

I am only wanting a biblical response to please to her teaching and what you see in the videos/ Teaching. If you are just going to say comments that are insulting, please just move on.

Thank you

It is a fake.

First Off --there are no apostles today ---so unless she was there and witnessed Jesus crucifixion and resurrection she is no apostle ------Paul had an encounter with the risen Christ on his way to Damascus so Paul was an apostle ------the rest of the Disciples who were called Apostles witnessed Christ death and resurrection -----

Second ----this fake person never mentions Jesus when calling out the fake spirit this girl is just acting like she is possessed and doing a poor job of it I might say -------nor does she use any scripture in this clip to call out the fake spirit ------

There is protocol for calling out Demons --and I see her doing nothing that represents any of the protocol that is taught to call out demons ----

Interesting 20 min video -----for anyone interested ------

8 Ways People Give the Devil a Foothold

Fr. Vincent Lampert, Priest and Exorcist in the Diocese of Indianapolis and author of "Exorcism: The Battle Against Satan and His Demons" presents the 8 ways we can fall victim to spiritual attack: ties to the occult, illicit entertainment, a curse, being dedicated to a demon, abuse that creates emotional wounds and leads to seeking help in bad places, habitual sin, inviting a demon into one’s life, and broken relationships.

there’s also the ones who the disciples couldn’t deal with and had to get Jesus to do it which he explains prayer and fasting is the only way to deal with this kind of evil spirit showing us there are different types and some who are harder to deal with than others

“And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:18, 20-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Obviously Jesus hadn’t fasted and prayed to cast him out but he’s instructing his disciples about this type so they can deal with later encounters they’ll know to fast and pray when dealing with certain types

there always more than there appears to be with every subject always details and points made that evolve the understanding

“Greet Andronicus and Junia … who are outstanding among the apostles” (Romans 16:7):

FYI Junia was a woman. Paul called her an "apostle".

“Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭16:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I think he’s saying “ these two are highly regarded by the apostles. Not saying they are apostles. But that’s just what I read there.

it seems these two were some of the original 500 plus disciples or early converts before Paul. I believe he’s saying “ these two are approved by the apostles “ but I suppose it would be a matter of how one reads it

“The apostles have noted these two are approved “

I think it says they are "ones sent " = apostles and they were highly regarded because of the office they had. If read on and before this Paul mentioned many positions, not just apostles. IF this was just Paul's highly regarded, that must be applied to the others.

Rom 16:3-15

3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, 4 who risked their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. 5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house.

Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia to Christ. 6 Greet Mary, who labored much for us. 7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my countrymen and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

8 Greet Amplias, my beloved in the Lord. 9 Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and Stachys, my beloved. 10 Greet Apelles, approved in Christ. Greet those who are of the household of Aristobulus. 11 Greet Herodion, my [b]countryman. Greet those who are of the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord.

12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, who have labored in the Lord. Greet the beloved Persis, who labored much in the Lord. 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren who are with them. 15 Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them.

Well from this alone, Andronicus and Junia, were well known with the Disciples [Apostles] before Paul got involved.

I agree, they are not Apostles, but are well known to the Apostles.

Now when Jesus says, "This kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting," in Mark it is clearly referring to the demons;

However in Matthew, where you might read the story first, it appears to be referring to Jesus' statement that "if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain to be removed and cast into the sea, and it will obey you."

I think that the faith that is required to cast out certain types of demons is the mustard seed faith and that those who have such a faith do not go out into the world to preach the gospel, and minister miracles, except by prayer and fasting.

How about a quote and which translation? Junia my kinsman?
