So apparently I've posted a few threads now about Valentine's day, proposals, ect.... while Im not overly interested in Valentine's day per say, I am interested in love. So for those of us that wont be getting chocolates or bouquets of beautiful flowers or teddybears holding little red hearts that say "be mine" .... we have to do for ourselves.

What are some ways you show yourself some tlc ? Do you buy yourself chocolates or flowers ? Do you book a massage or go get a manicure? What are ways we can show ourselves some love ??

I may just cook myself a steak and take the evening to read... who knows ?!?! 20220209_115129.jpg

I always bought a cartload of chocolate at 75% off on February 15th and gorged myself silly. It is a simple spell, but effective.

In all seriousness Miss Pipp, I don't know if you remember me from years back, but I have been a member for a long time. And I always liked you. I am not trying to get anything started, I am seeing a young lady currently, but I felt you deserved to know. So while you might not get any teddy bears or hearts, I hope some Godly encouragement can be a nice gift. I always thought you were cute and wise and had a nice attitude & personality.

Valentines' Day, ew, blech, blech, cooties! I just try not to think about it and hope it goes away!

In all seriousness, being single isn't much fun and two years of plandemic haven't made it any easier. Here's a friendly back pat to all my fellow lonely singles out there! Chin up!

Chocolate is a good idea.

It's on a Monday so I have to work. I might take my mom out for dinner on Sunday though. I see Valentine's Day as a celebration of all kinds of love. So you can celebrate with self love or family love too. As a kid, mom and grandma would take us out to eat on Valentine's Day. Something simple like Dairy Queen or Golden Corral. We would look forward to it after school.
I'll probably make brownies this weekend so we can have them for Monday.

I have a sweet tooth so I may buy me a whole cake and eat that over a week. I like the Trader Joe's chocolate cake. Or, I might get some ice cream. I grew up drinking hot tea with sweet foods to wash out the sugar, but not sure if that really works. I do try to watch sugar content generally.

For me, showing myself love is usually food related so I might try cooking a new exotic recipe (like an Ethiopian recipe or a new soup, etc.).

I always buy chocolates and clothes, flowers for myself, and necklace:p I've almost forgotten the feeling of being loved by the guy. Jesus is enough, I always say to myself.

Skittles. They are technically jelly beans, but don't ever call them jelly beans outright, since it's insensitive. :)

Yeah the pandemic has been hard for us all.

I've never been a big hug person, but it turns out I'm not quite this small on hugging either. :cautious:

Oh, man, I was just thinking about this the other day. There was a solid year when I got like four hugs. :/

I was going to take myself out on a sushi date - do my makeup, get dressed up - but then I leased a car today and have only $8 to my name until Friday :x

So, I'm broke until payday. :(
