Yeah, but who cares enough to pull out every single one anyway? Even if it WERE true, I'm not yanking all those out.

or how about this one...never shake a baby

also never leave a baby alone. Surprising how many parents do this. It does traumatise them. They dont have very good memories, and think you've abandoned them for life, when its only been ten minutes

Also, some think they can fly, so, not really a good idea to stay on then tenth floor and dangle your baby over the railing like Michael Jackson did

When mothers give you advice

sorry you just cant see that. Mothers would shake babies to stop them from crying, they also gave them gripe water containing alcohol to shut them up...and this was actually given out as advice in the olden days
 
motherly advice shouldn't be heeded ALL the time.

sometimes mothers just say a lot of things that don't make sense. ANd dont get me started on the perpetual myths parents like to propagate on Easter bunnies, tooth fairies and Santa Claus.

how about babies come from a stork? maybe its a better story than 'your dad and I had sex and that's how you got created'

If rabbits,squirrels ground rodents are bothering your garden
Go to your barber and get the hair cuttings and put them around the perimeter of you garden.
They smell humans and will stay away
 
Cracking your knuckles will give you arthritis, I still say this to my grands......lol. They are bad a cracking knuckles.

Spilling salt brings bad luck.

I found this which is interesting.
This dates back to the 15 th century.
Leonardo da Vinci's painting of the last supper has a pile of salt spilled near the crook of Judas arm
Thus spilling salt is associated with bad fortune and corruption

As far ad throwing the spilled salt over your left shoulder it is believed that the devil himself stands there and the salt will bind him.

If your left palm itches you're going to receive money.
