The power of sin is great if we allow but it had a different affect on me, I bought into the whole never sinning thing I kept falling shot I kept not living up to perfection every sin I did disgusted me and made me hate myself I fell into a deep loathing of myself I would purposely attack myself every time I sinned to make sure I bled inside so I wouldn't do it again I was furious with myself I hated myself there was such rage towards myself such hatred such disgust and at night I would be weeping bitter tears grasping my soaked pillows as if trying to grab hold of some kind of hope for a filthy disgusting sinner like me I dared not even ask for forgiveness I dared not even look up to God's face from my shame for I knew my sins I knew I would try as hard as I could but I would eventually mess up again When I tell you it was the darkest storm in my life when I tell you I had such a burning hatred for myself I can't use words to do it justic except to say it was demonic in nature.
The more I tried to not sin the lower I became and the more I fell into this state this went on for about three months and it was actually
@Lafftur who brought me out of it by reminding me to simply live in his love that I was called to his love and simply be his child, I remembered how it used to be with him how I used to just be filled with his love and spirit and enjoy ebing with him daily how I used to soak in his presence day in and day out how he and I kept things simple like a child and father and life returned to my soul a new fire kindled inside me.
This tactic may work for some but for others like me we flourish in love that is how we don't sin it is his love that gives us strength to be pure his love is all we need to be fed we don't need to worry about things like how little we sin because we naturally follow his flow and in his flow there is no sin yes there are times when we will fall but those who know his flow and his love are already seen in his eyes as sinless pure and spotless, people such as overcomer would not understand this for love is not his forte
brother the holy spirit will always be talking about the not sinning thing because it’s death to mankind . He is willing and able to forgive us when we make mistakes and repent but he’s always going to be calling us to repentance and life
we should buy fully into the not sinning thing that’s on almost every page of scripture it doesn’t make us sinless , but it brings sinners to repentance and a true knowledge of Gods amazing grace
what we do is very important no ones perfect but all have sinned and fallen short we should be able to still agree on what sin really is though
“And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
1 John 3:5-10 KJV
scriptire like this shouldn’t be unacceptable and it doesn’t exclude the rest pertaining to forgiveness John wrote these things to convince us completely against sin but then also he said this
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
1 John 1:7-10 KJV
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
1 John 2:1-2 KJV
For a Christian not sinning is their attitude and understanding and when we do stumble and sin we still have the propitiation through repentance
to commit sin as a Christian is not the rule but the acception but we have to be careful not to exclude either part we can’t say “ God will forgive me so I shouldn’t pay attention to my deeds “ or “ I only believe I’m forgiven I don’t believe what the next chapter says about actually committing sin and the children of Satan
it’s there to make sin an evil enemy so when we have sinned we will truly repent and learn from it
