1 John 5
1 Whosoever (any man, woman, child) believeth that JESUS is the Christ IS BORN OF GOD ( begotten): and everyone that loveth him ( God) that begat loveth him ( Jesus) also that is begotten of him.[ John 3:16]
2 ............/3.....
4 For whatsoever is born of God OVERCOMETH the world: and this is the victory that OVERCOMETH the world,EVEN OUR FAITH.
5......................................17
18 We know that WHOSOEVER is born ( born again, saved) of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten (JESUS) of God jeepeth himself, AND THE WICKED ONE ...TOUCHETH HIM....NOT.
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.”

I was responding to the op who doesn't believe satan needs permission from God to come against his people bc he is the ruler of this world.

Satan just wishes he could do like he pleases. He is not opposite to God,he's God's lackey.

amen I was just adding to those verses totally agree we need to have our minds and hearts set completely against sin and also need to know when we fall short he’s willing and able to forgive us

I understand what you were saying we can’t think sin is ok or that it doesn’t matter or doesn’t apply I was just adding the exception to the rule there we have to be completely in hate and despise sin or well Keep freely serving it

but we should also be willing to confess our sins me know he’ll forgive us whenever we do fall short having that proper mind understanding sin is not acceptable but if we repent we’re going to be cleansed of it

In Christ we’re safe , when we start dwelling outside of Christ we’re giving Satan permission to torment our lives and lead us into sin and death

Sorry but duh, I'm kinda thick sometimes.( in the head)
Yes you did add to it it for it does talk about sin and the abstinence of it. Being able to recognize the subtility of satan tricks is how we resist him.
I wanted de emerald to see the last part of verse 18. The wicked TOUCHETH him not.

Thanks brother,I may be a little off the play this evening.

I have known many who believe in OSAS and never have I heard it preached as a license to sin. Never. I know lots of anti-osas preachers who want to make that an argument, but in my experience it's an empty one.
Yes I am a osas believer and never once have I ever used it as a liscense to sin in fact the whole hyper grace thing quite frankly to me is a weak case and should not have gone as far as it did there was apoint where it took over the forum and quite honestly those who stood on the side of grace from what I saw mad etheir case for why they lived in grace while also not using it as a lisense to sin while those opposed to them refused to listen to reason and called them hyper gracers I have yet to see anyone use osas as a lisense to live as they please anyone who would do that clearly does not understand salvation or grace.

Of course no one's going to get up and preach it.
It's just the natural consequence of a theology that says you can't do anything that will cause you to lose your salvation.
Oh trust me plenty on here have (preached) it blue there was an all out war in cc over the matter at one point an absolute bloodshed scripture after scripture thrown and bashed at each other names were mocked people were torn down people were brutal to each other the love of God was nowhere to be found the devil was having a field day I have no doubt he was sitting back with a bag of popcorn watching us tear each other down over a matter that is not hard to understand.

See for me my salvation was not my doing I didn't buy myself I am a slave to Christ can a slave call himself his own master? can slave lose what he doesn't own? can he have any rights to a deed he did not purchase? we are not our own people tend to forget that how can we lose what we never had to begin with? how can we lose what was never ours to start? either we are his or not either we are slaves to Christ or we are our own masters either we serve him or we serve ourselves
We were purchased by the blood of Christ we were bought by his blood we were not given the deeds to our salvation we are not our own so therefore we cannot lose our salvation because it was never ours to lose to begin with we didn't buy it the deed is not in our hands it is in his name in his hands alone we can use all the scriptures we want to prove otherwise we can use all the theology we want to prove otherwise but it is as plain and simple as this we are not our own

No my friend, that is a point that exists mainly in the heads of those who are anti osas. Anyone versed in scripture knows that even tho sin will not remove salvation, there are still consequences to it.
no it is not, and I am not anti OSAS, if i may say, you could decide to denounce your faith in your last days as a human being here on planet earth, scripture even says as much, that believers can denounce there faith. This means any person can do the same to. Which truly ultimately means your eternal salvation is truly not decided until you run the race and drawn your last breath. May I also say what you see as anti OSAS on my part I actually see as blessing, because my interpretation of OSAS requires that you remember you need saving everyday and stops you from gaining to much confidence in behaving as if you where God, it also stops you from condemning people. and also this opens the door to being the child your father requires you to be worshiping the father the way he should be, loved in fact you are seeking his love.

OSAS in the believer which I witnessed many times on this forum gaining confidence in condemning people is an outright sin. My interpretation of osas stops that, where as we see yours does not because now you are resorting to saying I am anti o s a s which is a lie and a sin.

Oh okay, I quote John 9:1-3 where God blinded a man, allowed him to live a life of struggle and pain, in order to later heal him and that prompts you two dedicate two posts to how I’m possibly a Calvinist, in your opinion?

Oh, so you’re saying God is not sovereign? I mean, I didn’t even start quoting scripture. God claims to be sovereign numerous times in the Bible. This is just sola scriptura.

I want to encourage you to stay on topic rather than attempting to assign labels to me. My posts going forward I’ll start quoting scripture to meticulously validate every single one of my talking points.
all I can say is I'm disappointed in this reply running Man, but I'm not falling out with you over it.

Have you searched that possibly Jesus Christ was saying it was caused for another reason. like the word caused did not necessarily mean it was a deliberate act to cause suffering it was perhaps a miss interpretation, as Jesus was put on the spot, by people believing it had.

See you could bring the scripture in at this moment where a person had sinned and the crowd were expecting Jesus to curse that person with stoning her to death and he never did he simply said go and sin no more. He said the same thing about the blind man blind from birth, in the scripture, John 9 2-3 , Jesus said that this man had not sinned and no he had not received the curse because he had sinned. The people in The blind man scripture thought he had received a curse, but no Jesus said no, it's the same for if a person does sin Jesus did not place a curse on the sinner. Which means The Jews where worshiping the wrong father, Jesus told the Jews they where believer the lies of Satan, and so are you friend. It also means the Jews where practicing strange beliefs contrary to Jesus and Christianity.

Jesus said to the Jews they had been believing a lie and worshiping Satan by doing so.

How many blind people are blind from birth in this day and age you are going to assume Jesus has caused the lot. But there's more to it than that you know, a good person who does not sin or a person who does sin, can still be blind in many ways not related to eye sight.

But could the cause of why Jesus would suddenly turn up and heal that be the cause of why it happened in the first place. And if that moment Jesus says no the cause is different, could you interpretate that to mean what you believe here, ?.

Can I tell a story,
Once, someone committed a sin, which hurt me a lot. I hated and annoyed this person, but after this person died, I heard this person calling my name in my ear,I was still angry and hated this man.But at the same time, I seem to realize one thing. Is this person already in heaven?God didn't say anything to me, but I realized some thing in the Bible,

Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

I realized a problem. God knows my attitude towards this dead man, but why let him talk to me from heaven?

Didn't I have a problem reading and understanding the Bible myself?

You know what? God didn't directly point out my problem of understanding the words of the Bible, but reminded me of my problem with a person I hate.

So I realized my problem. I read the Bible, but I was blind and deaf,I should forgive others.

That will be a statue of grace you've been taught and it WILL stay with you as a reminder.
I too had to learn this hard lesson bc we war against the flesh and we want REVENGE.
I understand but this one thing.......hate hurts the ONE doing it,not the one it's aimed at.

are you sure or can you be sure that Satan did not keep reminding you of the sin that was commited against you, to make you angry, and then Satan made you think, that God had sent this person you where angry against.
Are you also believing that God can send Satan if you don't forgive, ?.

No,I do not.
We have the Holy Spirit, Jesus sent back upon his ascension for our teacher, comforter, and helper.

The devil IS NOT opposite of God,that would make him equal,he wants to usurp every thing that God does or has.

He has NO POWER. We can allow him to come against us and even use us bc we don't SUBMIT to God, RESIST the devil for he will flee...run from us.

God is our power source and we need to recharge EVERY DAY with him to stay in a state of readiness.

May I ask you something it may be personal?

do you believe God will send Satan or any type of demonic spirit to To a Christian if they sin ?

And may I ask do you believe a christian can be fooled into thinking that. And also do you know any scriptures where people and christians are fooled into believing Satan is God because I do in fact many we can study them together if you wish.

And lastly I have asked the lord and it shall be given , I have asked the lord to let you ride his donkey, so that you may become as stubborn as a muel in joining me in the biggest derailment of Satan ever on this forum , and so hold of your personal question for a few days.

God does NOT send EVIL to his children and he is NOT slack concerning his promises to us.....so no God will not send Satan to us.

A true child of God who is prayed up and studies the word and trust God to keep his word WILL NEVER be fooled by Satan.

I am going to say THIS ONLY ONCE,HEED THIS WARNING or I'm done talking to you.
GET INTO GOD'S WORD,STUDY ABOUT HIM,HIS SON,AND THE HOLY GHOST.

YOU are the one glorifying the devil.
Unless YOU are challenged or a child,I will not respond anymore.

You won't like what the word has to say about people seeking about the devil

Let me see, one teaching says: I have my fire insurance. I probably shouldn't continue in sin but what does it hurt if I do? Besides, it's so hard to keep on the straight and narrow. The other teaching says: If you don't keep to the straight and narrow your fire insurance may be cancelled. I wonder which sounds better?

If we use fire insurance as a base for an anology lets say we have fire insurance as grace now we have fire insurance in case of fa fire now just because we have fire insurance that doesn't mean we go and set fire that would be just stupid the same is with grace just because we have grace as insurance doesn't mean we go sin willy nilly. The issue becomes the argument of whether we can lose our salvation due to sin or not in which I posted in another about being slaves to Christ.

Our salvation was bought by the sacrifice of Christ the currency was his blood the deed to our souls is now in his hands can a slave call himself his own master? can he lose what he does not own? either we serve him or we don't we cannot call ourselves Christians without admitting we have been bought by the blood of Christ if we have been bought and purchased we are not our own if we are not our own we cannot lose what we do not own.
