To be clear, you are talking about the law of love - the New Covenant in Christ. Don't forget that the law of Moses (the Old Covenant) included the requirement to cut away the useless skin, and Moses himself was nearly killed for disobeying it. But now, there can be no disobedience to this law of Moses, for those for whom it has been fulfilled by Christ.

on singles forum we are discussing whether we are fruitcakes or fruit salad.
I think I go for the fruit salad.
if its too weird for you I cant really think of where you'll fit in really...most any fruit can go in salad except for maybe bananas as they go a bit mushy. But ...if you mash it up makes a great smoothie so...

I'm definitely reading that verse in a different way now, especially since those of us in the know concerning doves in general know what that "silver and gold" on their feathers REALLY is...especially if they've been so unfortunate to perch on a branch beneath where other birds are sitting.

ie: it seems to me to be a condensed version of a certain comprehension on his part...I asked and he supplied Ecclesiastes...I quoted a favorite portion and he liked it
since then I have not thought about it
however I certainly have no problem conceptualizing the understanding of man stomping on the vineyard (putting it colloquially)
the vineyard being the world of God
we might come to the same conclusion from different viewpoints

Without preaching to the choir lol... I believe, as Christians, we all agree that God separated us for our own good. Our pride in self accomplishment was way out of control, same as Cain's pride.
Our slow but complete turning away from God has been epic. A side effect of being created in God's own image...?
Since Babbel, we've only been capable and prideful enough to challenge each other instead of God. However, a certain number of us Christians who are led by the Spirit are easily recognized and singled out by secular society.
So, why does it seem like we don't need any help from agnostics to separate ourselves? Here we are in the age of grace, and in full knowledge of the Spirit, still acting like God's rebellious children...
Shouldn't we be more inclined to find common ground between us despite our God given differences? Shouldn't that also apply to Men and women... and all the different races? Especially HERE? From the very beginning of the Bible God shows there are only two kinds of people in the world... Those who seek to serve God's will and those who simply roam the earth.
Shouldn't us Christians be more attuned to that difference than anyone?
God Himself separated us. So, doesn't it stand to reason that our differences still serve His will?
Does that make any sense?

did someone heckle you on here just for being a christian? How rude.
why not forgive them their rudeness, ignorance or whatever. Surely thats just what we do. Because at aome point we habe all been rude or ignorant unless you are one of those rare people who is an absolute GENIUS. Most people mess up from time to time and tempers can be hard to control. Plus not everyone reads every single post, I sure dont! who has the time...!
If they dont receive you just shake the dust off your feet and move on. a way to do that is just start a new thread, or ignore that rude poster and just keep posting about the topic you'd like to talk about. Im sure at least one person can relate to what you are saying and you can have a decent discussion. It is not always realistic to expect every single person to agree with you all the time.
This is just basic forum ettiquette whether christian or otherwise.

I absolutely love what some people call argument. It takes a team working together to find the truth--if we never learn how we are interpreting scripture wrong we will never learn the truth. Also, it makes us check our beliefs carefully with scripture.
When my kids were teens and had to make so many life decisions, we would set up debates. Each teen was given five minutes to defend their point. Then they switched, and the person defending the point was asked to give five minutes debating for that point, It helped my kids see clearly the decisions they were making.
