I dated a guy a few summers ago that was into sports and it was activity time. I am not desperately into sports, but I liked him and I liked hanging out with him. I joined his softball team and they taught me how to play with the caveat of knowing I wasn't going to be very good.

What would you learn to do for someone? How flexible are you to stretching your horizons?

On the flip side, how important is it that someone be flexible with you to learn stuff you are interested in?

I'm always up for learning something new and I don't think I'd be happy with someone who wasn't interested in learning and growing.

Learning something new ... or at least making the attempt to learn it :) ... is a good thing. Broadens your horizons and gives you a couples' activity. And even if you don't end up taking up X past time long term, you'll gain a decent understanding of a loved one's hobby.

Fundamentally changing yourself to fit another person's ideal is not as cool.

Knowing the difference is sometimes hard. :)

You said a mouthful there.

A relationship is about compromise so I'd be prepared to try new things and hope my partner would do the same, I think when you're in Love with someone there's a lot more you'd do or sacrifice for them. :)

I'm pretty much the queen of social awkward, so comfortable and I aren't well acquainted in any given sense.

I think I'm somewhat flexible. I'll try most anything once. I don't like being pushed, though. So if I know I won't like something (*cough*chicken spread*cough*), or it's a big fear (like, I will never go sky-diving or climb a water-pole ladder), I don't want to be pushed about it. It'll make trying other things harder.

I enjoy philosophy. I don't know if one can just ''learn'' it in a week or so :D

Imea the things i enjoy doing I would rather my significant other not be involved in. Mainly because its a fun way to escape for a few hours a week and just have tie with friends. So they can stay as far away from my card games as they want.

Hey Liamson, how come every time you change your picture you age about five years??? Sorry, I guess this doesn't have anything to do with the thread.

I was starting to think that you might have drank some aging potion and I might see you turn into a middle age man, then a senior and see the sad final expiration in a matter of weeks.

Well, it used to be the Motto of the Navy "Accelerate your Life"

Really? I always thought the Navy's motto was "we want you. we want you as a new recruit." as an Indian, a cowboy, a policeman, and a sailor danced and pointed at you from the tv.

It changes every couple of years.

it went from "Let the Journey Begin" to "Accelerate your life" and the day I left it became "A global Force for Good." (apparently I was the bad guy)

ah... the village people. I thought they all died of AIDS.
