NASA will never show you the spinning globe, but you can see the Earth is FLAT for yourself with infrared camera technology.

You can find flat earthers on nearly every message board and they are eager to share with others daily, year after year, their flat earth beliefs. Flat earth theory is a psyop (psychological operation) designed to distract people from what matters.

Let's face it: who cares if the earth is flat or globe and what difference does it make compared to the other pressing matters we are confronted with daily?

It's like the MSM when they suddenly stop talking about an important story and begin flooding the airwaves with literally anything else. When I see flat earth brought up, I am immediately suspicious about what is trying to be concealed from us and what important event we are being distracted from. I'm sure why you're talking about flat earth, papers are being signed to strip your rights away bit by bit.

it certainly isn't necessarily true that all the heavenly bodies are flat if one is -- but it's something i agree you would justifiably expect, and if it didn't turn out to be the case, 'why not?' is an obvious question to be answered
As I've said, PURPOSE.

God says in the Bible that He created the Earth to be inhabited.

And God said the Sun, Moon, and stars are for light and for "signs, seasons, days, years."

Do you expect a house and a flashlight to be the same shape?

Yeah, a lot of people think this, especially if they have been exposed to the Flat Earth Society nonsense, which serious flat earthers don't believe.

It's a mistaken view.

Notice that modern SCIENTISM is kind of a package deal, and it encompasses the following. Life, order, and intelligence arise from nothing over time due to natural processes. The Big Bang created the universe. Cosmic space dust coalesced to form stars. Then debris collected around stars due to gravity and coalesced to form planets. The planets solidified and life evolved in brine pools. Life became more and more advanced eventually resulting in humanity. Myriad other habitable worlds and sentient species on par with humanity or more advanced exist. Multiple universes exist. There is no supernatural reality and no God.

^ See how all that goes together? I never saw it until recently. The heliocentric model is clinging to a vestige of anti-truth, anti-God scientism. Actually, we could even go one further and show that Freemasons and other occult mystery schools are the ones pushing the heliocentric model. If you believe Earth is just another spinning space ball it plays right into the godless philosophy of all the rest of the above.

But a close study of the Bible will show another story.

The Bible teaches that Earth is a stationary realm intentionally created by God for humanity to dwell within. The Sun, Moon, and stars were given (Genesis 1) for different purposes, they are likely not terrestrial, and they are different from the Earth. Creation was perfect, but entropy and decay (results of sin) are corrupting humanity and the Earth system. The created Earth realm points to the existence and power of the Creator. Earth is stationary and the central stage for God's plans, an arena of choice and consequence. Humanity has purpose and God is keenly watching us at all times.

Many people waking up to flat earth are waking up to the reality that there is a Creator and there is a supernatural.

One day the heliocentric model will be truly obsolete, and people will say "I cannot believe they were so deceived to believe that Luciferian drivel back then!" And we can finally stop spending our hard earned money trying to send liars and charlatans into an imaginary "outer space" and begin exploring and stewarding our own world the way God intended.

When you put it like that, I can see the good that can come from the flat earth talk. I don't require it, though, but more power to you and others if it helps you get through the day. I do worry about the possible negative side effects of it though. Oh well. Carry on.

I used to believe in the solar system and globe Earth like everyone else. Seeking truth brought me to the position I hold now.

If you're really interested in these things, you should look over the Bible verses on the subject. My first two posts here give a decent overview.

Let me also say that I appreciate you trying to consider these things objectively.

I highly doubt the Earth is a flat disc even though I respect the pretense for why you believe that. Actually, I'd love for it to come out that the Earth is a flat disc or something like that and it was officially confirmed. That would be amazing and truly unexpected.

You've been told that but it's simply not true. Firstly, it has never been proven that the Moon is a sphere. Secondly, it has never been proven that it's a shadow being cast on the Moon at all, let alone from the Earth (look up selenelion or read my previous comment about it). Thirdly, shapes other than spheres CAN cast curved shadows on a sphere because the surface of a sphere is curved and thus can curve a shadow.
Look up during a full moon.

If people want to believe the earth is flat, they can believe that the earth is flat. As long as they are respectful to me, fine.
You may disagree with me, but I'll defend your right to disagree with me.
After all, people are going to believe what they want to believe. We may as well get along.
There are a few silly threads, such as the last post and banned games. I'm learning that the value in them is that I am getting to know people without arguing over doctrine. I'm starting to value them more than anything else on this forum.
This forum is what we make it, brothers and sisters!

"Yes, wouldn't that be nice!" :)

It is "coming out" - we are trying to tell you...

Don't tell me you are waiting on the government to give you an official confirmation - don't look for that to ever happen...

You are missing the point entirely.

Do your own research - for the truth.

What is more trustworthy than the Bible?

Look there for confirmation. ;)

I've looked at flat earth's appeal to the Bible and I disagree the earth is flat based off Bible literature. I also disagree that the earth literally has four corners and literally has four winds. Do you see how I have come to the conclusion that flat earth is not a sound Biblical interpretation?

Nevertheless, I would love to be proven beyond a doubt otherwise.

I just love that answer. It’s in quotes and italicized like they aren’t even your words. Not did it actually answer my question with a valid response. Priceless. I’m going to have to use that method sometimes.

I regret that you did not realize the sincerity in my response. So, I will attempt to explain...

I sometimes "borrow" well-known quotes as a means of conveying the well-known meaning that comes with it.

But, it is definitely me saying it.

I sometimes use italics to indicate a "more-personal" or "directed" intent. (context-dependent)

If we were sitting in a small group together somewhere, the equivalent would be something like me leaning toward you - looking directly at you - and saying it to you personally as opposed to the whole group.

I also use italics in other "directed" ways - like I did above. (as an example)

I thought your question was intended in a rhetorical sense.

Also, for what it is worth, I was sitting in a cafe eating at the time and did not want to draft a long reply - and decided to opt for that short reply instead.

I would like to assure you that my response was sincere.

It was intended to say that - even if I don't understand or agree with your reasoning entirely, I do believe you are entitled to your own view.

No - I didn't think to write what I put in the previous paragragh at the time - I thought it would take more time than I had while "wrapping up" the meal and getting ready to leave.

This kind of thing is why I prefer to make the longer replies at home at night - when I have more time to think about what I want to say and come up with a "better-said" reply than what I likely would if just "shooting from the hip"...

Okay I understand. I was thinking of essays, MLA style, where when someone else’s work is quoted it is usually italicized, but normally that doesn’t apply to quotes, but rather the titles of longer works such as albums, novels, movies, or newspapers for example.

Good to know how your emphasis works since no one really seems to have an agreed upon standard anymore.

All of that aside, if you had just said “I can respect that” without quotes or italics my response would have been similar. I would have definitely viewed it as a refusal to validate my viewpoint, which is fine and I understand why anyone would refuse to validate a viewpoint they intend to not agree with.

I really did not mean to "blow you off" - but, honestly, my mind was on some other things at the time...

~

There are only so many combinations (that make sense) of bold, italic, underline, single-quote, double-quote, parentheses, brackets, braces, etc. - so - my use of italics, for example, is context-dependent.

I try to be consistant with my use of all of these things in a way that hopefully makes as much intuitive sense as possible.

Some folks may think that I overdo it sometimes (and, perhaps I do at times) - but, I am really just trying to write in such a way that will hopefully take away some of the guessing that people sometimes have to do when they read totally-unemphasized text.

It takes so much writing in the English language to say almost anything to a detailed degree or extent.

And, for now, I am stuck using my phone to post. So, I tend to shy away from writing long posts most of the time.

And, if 'emphasis' can save some single-finger-keypress typing...

Seeing is believing, so maybe I should lead with this particular topic more often when I talk about Flat Earth. All NASA would have to do to prove the Earth is a spinning globe is put a 24/7 camera on the Moon and livestream footage of the Earth. Or even broadcast 24/7 footage from a satellite or the ISS. THIS HAS NEVER BEEN DONE. Why not?

But I can show you that the Earth is flat, and you can see it for yourself. The owner of this YouTube channel didn't start off as a Flat Earther (no one does) but he put his frequent long distance flying and his interest in infrared photography together and began taking long distance footage of the Earth whenever he took a plane trip. The results are staggering.

Infrared camera technology strips away clouds, dust, smog, and atmospheric interference and proves that the Earth is flat but simply obscured by our atmosphere. JTolanMedia1 has captured astounding footage extending hundreds and hundreds of miles. The Earth is undeniably flat. See for yourself. I would recommend watching his channel in REVERSE order since he started off as someone on the fence about Flat Earth and then changed his perspective due to his camera work.

I think it makes little to no difference whether the Earth is flat or round is more of a sideshow a distraction to more pressing issues. Though personally I do find the topic quite entertaining and when asked about it often tell people that I believe in the do personally I do find the topic quite entertaining and when asked about it often tell people that I believe in the Flat Earth just to mess with them it's pretty funny just a mess with them it's pretty. But on a serious note brother it really doesn't matter we have much more important things going on child trannies wars and rumors of wars weather the Earth is round flat Hollow or shaped like a donut really doesn't matter in the end.

I dedicate this thread to my cantankerous friend and brother, @Gideon300. I think old dogs CAN learn new tricks, so I'm not giving up on you, sir! :)

The earth is not flat, otherwise someone would have walked/sailed/etc. to the end of the earth. It is possible to walk/sail around the world and reach the same location.
They say that no one can go to the end of the earth because there is an ice covering, and they say there is a lot of military stuff on the edges to prevent people from entering.

As someone who has never travelled, I can't confirm one way or another.
