Isiah 53

All verses will be copied from Biblehub.com.

Verse 1. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

Who is going to believe what we say about God, or who is going to believe there is a God? A lot of people don't. Revealing the arm of the Lord: The arm of the Lord is His power, His strength to make war. How many can see it? You will have a percentage of people today that will say “ I don't believe there is a God” and that number is growing.

Verse 2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

It dose not even have to be a real fertile place; Look at David from tending sheep to the king and a man after Gods own heart. The first disciples were fisherman, they were not great teachers or preachers. He hath no form of comeliness: Jesus was God in the flesh He was perfect and yet many would not desire Him.

Verse 3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not .

He was despised and rejected by many. The rulers, The church leaders as a whole, many of his own people. He expected that but I thank what hurt Him most was when His own followers turned their backs on Him. Our Father through the Son Emmanuel God with us He understands man and knows what to expect. Even with all that He loves His children.

Verse 4 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not

It happened He was punished, He was beaten, bused, ect. and we (people) turned our backs on Him. His message was one of purity and man just does not want to hear it. Look at what they are teaching or children from preschool to what ever grade, degree ect, you want to go to. It sure is not purity. Thay have taken God out of everything; even some churches that perform gay marriages, allow gay pastors and leaders. I would say they esteemed Him not then and 2022 years later many esteem Him not now.

Verse 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

He was wounded they pierced His side, they pulled His arms out of His sockets, they whipped Him, beat Him ect. All of that not because He had done something wrong. NO He did it for us so that we could have healing, healing of the soul forgiveness of sins.

Verse 6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

All we like sheep have gone astray. That is why we have to be born from above, born of woman, come to earth and make a decision on just who we are going to follow. Are we going to follow God or some mans religion, or something else. When I say false religion I am talking about churches today. Paul made it clear in 2nd Corinthians that there would be false teachers preachers ect. or such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. So just where do you fall in at the side of God almighty or the side of Satan that is the only 2 chooses.

Verse 7. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

How wonderful it is that God has foretold us all this long before it happened to prove to us that His word is true and will come to pass as it is written. He was oppressed, afflicted, a lamb brought to the slaughter . . . but did not open His mouth. He did not have to go through that He loved us enough to do it freely.

Verse 8. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

What kind of judgment a crown of thorns false accusers. Who shall declare his generation? You have to go to the 7 churches of Revelation to find the answer, In Revelation 2:8-11 the church of Smyrna and in 3:7-13 The church of Philadelphia. If your church does not line up with the teaching and understanding of these 2 churches you COULD find yourself in a heap of heart in the end times. We are seeing it foretold right here. He was cut off from the land of the living and killed for the transgressions of MY(God) people.

Verse 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

He was killed with two malefactors one on each side and He was laid in His uncle's tomb. Avery wealthy man that had tin mines. Even thou He had never committed one violent act or ever lied about anything

Verse10. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

He did all this for us His children so the seed could prosper that we have eternal life; to defeat Satan and give us a way out He is the path the way to that eternal life; that man can find forgiveness for our sins and live in that eternal life that wonderful life with Him for ever and ever.

Verse 11. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities .

His knowledge underline that remember it. It is by Gods knowledge not mans that His righteous servants justify many: you must be a righteous servant so that God can use you to plant the seed so it will grow and that person can also have the blessings of God that Jesus paid the price for on that cross. One man sows and one man waters but it is God that gives the increases. Remember that as God uses you so you don't get a big head

Verse 12, Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

O praise God for this. You should know that one of them that hung with Him asked for and was given forgives right there on the cross. He did this for all of us so that we could have eyes to see and ears to hear when God speaks. If ever God has spoken to you in a chapter of the bible it should be this one. Foretelling of what was to come, foretelling of how Jesus would pay that price for our salvation.

I hope you enjoy this study and you are blessed by it.

Verse 1. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Enjoyed the read thanks for sharing remember we were talking out New Testament revealing the old and by itself interpreting what the prophets meant ? This now a good example

“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:1‬ ‭KJV‬

“While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; That they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, And be converted, And I should heal them. These things said Isaiah , when he saw his glory, and spake of him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:36-41‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And the light ?

Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭51:4-5‬ ‭

Paul speaks of the same things in Romans ten offering more explaination of the prophets infact you have highlighted one half of the central part of Paul’s doctrine which was the suffering and resirrection of Christ there in Isaiah 53 and the light he spoke of os the teachings of Christ his law and judgement in Isaiah 51

It’s what Paul’s doctrine is revealing what was written in the prophets of Christ

“Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

that Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, ( Isaiah 53 among others prophecies )

and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.”( Isaiah 51 among other prophecies )
‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Have

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Isaiah 53 is one of the chapters that the rabbi forbid there followers to read.
yes because they have rejected that Christ fulfilled the scriptures in the gospel . So they are still waiting for the messiah to be born and fulfill the ones they accept. This requires them to reject the basis of the New Testament christs death and resurrection witnesses in thier scriptures

“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:44, 46-48‬ ‭

it’s why the Jewish authorities persecuted Christians so much in scripture
