@DanielLL

i want to reiterate, i am very close to becoming a vegetarian myself. if not for my family's habits i would myself abstain, but i have no wish to impose my personal emotions on them. we will all be vegetarian in the resurrection, and that's OK.

i believe all animals apart from man are sinless yet under the frustration of the cursing of the ground for Adam's sake. that they are living souls just as we are, and that they do not experience physical death because of any fault of their own, but for our benefit.
my beloved fluffalupagus is dying as i type this. i am spending half my time lying on the floor stroking him as he breathes his last breaths and half my time in here thinking and typing. i know we will be reunited in heaven. he eats birds and fish, and he is not at fault for doing so -- in heaven he will not. i know his soul will live forever.

this is not about whether i think it is wrong to abstain from meat or that i disagree it is a sin to wantonly kill animals as though they do not have a soul or as though their blood isn't innocent.
this is about the key doctrine you are presenting, friend. your doctrine is not compatible with scripture - it either accuses God of murder, or accuses the scripture of being worthless and full of lies.

that's a problem -- and the obvious solution is that you are not correctly interpreting what you read. you need to ask why does God do this, instead of presuming God's book is untrue.

just my opinion, as always

@posthuman Jesus ate fish after his resurrection. Other than a hint about the fruit of the vine, what does the Bible say about resurrected human diets?

You've got one of the most confused agenda-driven methods of interpreting scripture I've seen on here since the 'piney' guy with musical instruments. At least you aren't posting confused interpretations of the Strong's concordance.
EXACTLY

you will not be the first person to reject the Bible and re-write it for themselves while still claiming to believe it.

strict Armostrongites, for example, also teach the whole OT and part of the NT are lies, choosing for themselves what they will listen to and what they will stop their ears to -- for them, on account of loving their proscription against instrumental music. it is the natural extension of their teaching, because the Bible does not condemn music, that they condemn the Bible in order to cling to their traditions.

you are in the same category. your teachings have no other end but to either condemn the scripture or to accept that your thoughts were incorrect.
THAT PART

you are correct to point out that i am making inference from, for example, the passages in Isaiah speaking about the lion and lamb laying down together, the introduction of death through sin, the fact of animals being called living souls, and the original sinless state of creation, without any direct evidence in scripture, as it were.

Are you saying they were murderous evil fish?
No.
if the fish aren't evil, and you maintain it is evil to kill a fish, how can you explain how Christ Himself ate fish, cooked fish, and miraculously helped His apostles catch & then kill fish?

seems like you only have 2 options if you cling to your position:

  • Christ is evil therefore God is evil and there is no salvation; you embrace antichrist
  • the NT is corrupt and untrustworthy - therefore you create a god of your own imagination; also antichrist

i mean, i can't imagine why you would do anything other than question and revise your own view. every other option is blasphemy; your current view directly & inescapably leads to blasphemy.

Give it up Daniel, Jesus ate fish. Forbidding eating meats is a satanic doctrine according to 1 Timothy 4:1-3

"Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth."

He has quoted gnostic/extra-biblical texts AS scripture previously.

Cows aren't my brothers. You wants cows, or oxen, to be your brothers. If they really are, then why can't we eat you?
Isn't your Father the same Father as the cows? If not, you can kill them and eat them. As for my Father, He is also the Father of the cows, and everything that moves upon the earth. So they are all my brothers of the same Father. Which is why you can't eat me, it is unlawful to kill your brothers:

Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.

Isaiah 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man

-Have mercy on your brothers, if you desire also to find mercy:

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

I'm against murder:

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

-The Good shepherd, doesn't take the life away from the sheep, no, He gives them life:

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Isn't your Father the same Father as the cows?
why does He call "Satan cursed above all cattle" ?

do you accept or delete Genesis 3:14 . . ?

it is hard to reason with someone who rejects evidence you see as incontrovertible - when it isn't a matter of interpretation but a matter of wholly ignoring data.

i do not really know how to continue with you

He gives us life by laying down His own. no one takes it from Him.

how then does any sinless blood become shed? is there no correlation?
does not the scripture -- all the scripture -- testify of Him?

why do animals die at all?
apart from being slain by men; why do they die?

why does God allow death to enter and pervade the whole world, even all creation?
everything on earth is decaying!

why does He call "Satan cursed above all cattle" ?
Satan, that old serpent, was the "more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made." So after the serpent sinned, God cursed it above all other animals.
how then does any sinless blood become shed? is there no correlation?
The innocent blood, was first betrayed by Judas, then shed by those who pierced Him. He commanded His Spirit into the Hands of the Father, of His own accord. The only Blood He shed was His Truth and Life, which is the Light of the world. The carnal red blood was shed by the pharisees and the romans.

The willingness to be know for who you are is a quality in my books. Not so easy when many are playing Christian bumper cars!

i've met goats whose passing broke my heart
cats also, and spiders, and mantises, who are all predators by nature

who can pass judgement for what God has done?

God cursed it above all other animals.
cursed above all cattle implies cattle are also cursed - else it would have just been written, "cursed"

this is a great mystery -- what had cows done? or do they suffer curse through no fault of their own?
why is the ground cursed, instead of Adam?

everything goes back through Genesis 3 -- it is a 'strange attractor' or a 'super-node' of scripture, if we put it into a fractal or complex-network frame.
