This series is wonderful and although we can't know every word exchanged between the characters, the major issues are done superbly. I won't give a spoiler alert, but the scene at the pool of Bethesda and the following encounter was so inspirational❣

On a suggestion from a friend of mine I started watching this series.

So...I have thoughts but wanted to hear yours on the subject.

What do you think of the series?
The show is a pile of trash that is produced by a man who flat out admits that he worships the same "Jesus" that Mormons do.

Don't take my word for it.

Listen to him yourself:

Among their wacky beliefs, Mormons believe that Jesus is Lucifer's older brother:

https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org...-and-purposes-are-so-utterly-opposed?lang=eng

Is this the "Jesus" that you worship?

It's Dallas Jenkins' "Jesus".

Where is any discernment in the body of Christ?

I only watched about 3 minutes of one episode, and I literally asked God to wipe it from my memory via the blood of Jesus.

P.S.

The producer, Dallas Jenkins, is the son of Jerry Jenkins of the infamous "Left Behind" nonsensical series.

Both Dallas and Jerry can kiss my "left behind".

Hey, you asked...

The show has an agenda, and that agenda isn't to help people walk in the Spirit. I'd say it's more again to dumbing people down.

But as we all know there are those who see the glass half full, half empty, or simply for what it is a glass of water.

People complain about everything regardless how good.

Well that makes sense....
The "Jesus" portrayed is a little lower in diety than I care for...also a bit too pretty.

The fact that the LDS people supported the film with their props doesn't make them evil. Shutting out anyone from direct contact from the Christian community I feel is the wrong way to profess the love of Jesus.
Jenkin's father wrote the Left Behind series and Dallas was raised a Christian.
OK, so can anyone point out a scene in The Chosen that goes against the Gospel. Everyone in my study groups loves this depiction and they are quite more conservative than me, lol.

Please forgive me if this upsets you
WHY THEY WERE CHOSEN

(Deu 7:6 KJV) For thou art a holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
(Deu 7:7 KJV) The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
(Deu 7:8 KJV) But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh King of Egypt.
(Deu 7:12 KJV) Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he swore unto thy fathers:
(Deu 7:13 KJV) And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kin, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
(Lev 19:34 KJV) But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God

They were chosen to show us the way, to show us how to treat the stranger, how to be compassionate and loving to your neighbor and by doing so peace would envelop the world.

(Mal 3:5 KJV) And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
(Deu 24:19 KJV) When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
(Exo 22:21 KJV) Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
(Jer 14:8 KJV) O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
(Ezek 36:17 KJV) Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their ..own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
(Ezek 36:18 KJV) Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it.
(Ezek 36:22 KJV) Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
(Ezek 36:24 KJV) For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
(the above-occurred in 1947AD)
(Ezek 36:31 KJV) Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
(Ezek 36:32 KJV) Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
(Ezekiel 21:32 (ASV) Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

..According to a 2002 study by the Jewish Agency, "the number of Jews in the world is declining at an average of 50,000 per year."

Yes, and it isn't as hokey as some of the other ones that have been done in the past. The acting is decent in this one.

My issues are with some of the main set things that simply aren't true. Society in the Ancient Near East was a lot more civilized and organized than what is portrayed. People didn't run around so dirty and unkempt...unless you were a beggar.

Jews, generally didn't engage in fighting for fun. That was a Roman behavior that happened in gymnasium...

Jews held to the scripture of "eye for an eye" type justice. Yes, they did fight with each other but it was like a family feud than what I've seen portrayed...a lot more ruthless and cunning. It wasn't ever a "harmless exchange of fists".

Getting hurt or engaging in behavior that could get you hurt was generally avoided. Because things like antibiotics didn't exist. Wounds caused fevers that you might not recover from. And beards were longer...much longer. Roman's shaved and kept short hair. Jews oiled their hair to make it shiny.

And only children ran....Jews strutted everywhere they went.

Furthermore, the executive producer of this show is a Mormon:

Mormons use a translation of the Bible...I think they are still on the Cambridge/Oxford KJV. I can be mistaken though. I left Idaho and Salt Lake city area a long time ago.

But even Mormons have issues today...I hear they got a Starbucks these days. (Mormons Don't drink coffee or tea or anything alcoholic)
They used to not drink Soda...but then a major contributor had a coca cola bottling franchise...that seemed to fly that prohibition out the window.

"The Chosen" is a pile of heretical garbage, and its "Jesus" is NOT the Jesus of the Bible:

Matthew correcting Jesus' Sermon on the Mount before he gave it?

Shame on all of you who believe this Satanically-inspired TRASH!

I suggest people make up their own minds and not be bullied by any particular individuals views. One way or the other.

If you are unsure about whether The Chosen is right for you, here is a video made by the shows creator that addresses some of these issues. Link is below the photo.

The Chosen Stance on Faith
"Bullied"?

Do you believe that Jesus struggled with his sermons and needed the help of men, like an allegedly autistic Matthew, to write them?

If you do, then like all of the people involved in the production of this SATANICALLY-INSPIRED TRASH, you have "another Jesus", and NOT the Jesus of the Bible.

For crying out loud, man, every word that Jesus spoke he received directly from his Father in heaven.

Is the Bible the word of God or the word of men?

"The Chosen" is full of heresies, and shame on you and others here for being so lacking in discernment.

One of my favorite all-time movies 'The Cokeville Miracle' has Mormons involved. At the end children are singing about Jesus and hearing their prayers. It is an awesome true story about an elementary school being victorious over a bomber through faith in prayer.
I can understand Jesus asking someone for their thoughts to get an idea of how they think, OF COURSE, He has the Truth.
The numbers show they have struck a chord. Since the first season was released in 2019, " The Chosen " series has been viewed more than 200 million times and translated into 50 different languages. The show has received positive reviews.
I have watched every episode, not just 3 minutes, as millions of others have. I only see a small handful of critics that are blasting it. It makes me wonder their agenda.
Also, I haven't done 'shame' for quite a few years so I'll have to pass on that one, thanks to Jehovah, God of Love.

If any of you believe that anything even remotely close to what is depicted here ever transpired, then I question if you're even saved.

The fuller clip is even worse, in which Jesus is walking around muttering while trying to figure out what to say.

In this clip, Geezus wishes Matthew "good luck" and then changes his Sermon on the Mount in accordance with Matthew's suggestions.

Seriously, God help you if you believe this GARBAGE...after you repent and renounce such heresy.

THIS is the real Jesus:

"If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." (John 7:17)

"I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him." (John 8:26)

"Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things." (John 8:28)

"For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak." (John 12:49-50)

Etc., etc., etc.

"For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. " (I Thessalonians 2:13)
