- I was chased by an angry groundhog while jogging once

- A rabbit ate my curtains

- A buffalo charged my family on a wildlife refuge because my uncle got up in its face with a camera
When I was a little girl, we went on one of those open zoos here, and an ostrich tried to get into the car.

My adventures with wildlife:

A few years, I was trying to capture this cat, well instead of capturing it, one night I ended up capturing a raccoon. Animal control would not come to release it, and instead told me I had to do it. So, after several attempts on releasing the cage with gloves on, I ended up having to take off my gloves just to be able to maneuver the trap open. I don't know which was more scared, the raccoon or me. It stayed huddled at the back of the cage as best as it could.

Sometime last year, late one night, there was a bunch of deer that ran in front of my car while I was coming home from work or church. (Not sure which.)

Also last year, saw a falcon in a tree, and little feathers where falling underneath where it was.

And I swear when I was in my 20's, up near Dallas, I saw a wolf when I was going home. It was a really huge dog, and had big paws. So, I don't know if it was a wolf, or just one that looked like one.

Falcons are mean.

I had a baby jellyfish get stuck in my one-piece bathing suit once.

I'm not a big fan of the Gulf of Mexico anymore.

I've always loved animals and since I was little mom was always on me about leaving certain things alone: snakes in particular. If i saw a snake I was gonna go check it out almost every time. I had some up close and personal encounters with osage copperheads, Rat snakes, and about a dozen varieties of garden variety green snakes. Snakes and reptiles fascinate me for some odd reason. And no, I've never been bitten by them, but I have handled (barehanded) copperheads on a few occasions since growing up. I would get a call from a friends mom and since her husband couldn't come cuz he was at work I'd go get the bugger. I attempted to find a decent stick on the way every time but only once or twice was I ever able to find one.

I guess i cant really remember July 4th without my craziest experience involving wildlife.

This was July 5th 1994 I was about 12 years old. My three brothers and sisters, parents and i were visiting my grandparents in Albany Georgia for independence day.

There was a storm that started in Florida and came across Georgia. It didnt touch the part that my family was in, but there was so much rain the 30 foot dam broke and the flint river started rising. The flooding destroyed South Georgia, My grandparents house was right in the path of the dam along a river, it looked more like a swamp though. Anyway This river was known for having all kinds of alligators. I never saw one so i didnt think it was true.

We were supposed to be evacuated, but when the dam broke there wasn't anything anyone could do to get us out of there. My grandparents lived in a two story house and when the water flooded the whole downstairs of the house we all had to get up on the second floor. It was in the middle of the night and i remember laying down near the top of the stair case, I just laid there and watched the water come up the stairs. There was a zoo not far from my grandparents house and the whole night all we heard were the sounds of the animals dying basically, They were all trapped in their cages and they were drowning. The noise was freakin pitiful, and it was unbelievably loud.
Eventually the water got so high we had to stay on the roof of the house, we were there for a day or so before some firefighters in boats came to rescue us. The whole time we were on the roof we could see alligators and some of the Emu's that escaped from the zoo floating around the houses

When the firefighters came the Emu's swam over to us and started pecking at the firefighters and us while we were getting in the boat. One of them was looking out for gators while the other was tryin to fight off this Emu! It wasnt funny at the time, but now it strikes me as pretty funny cause i can still see the whole scene in my head.

I have been afraid of Large Birds and alligators ever since. I tell you it was God that protected us, because there wasnt anything stopping those alligators from swimming right up to us.

Noddy, I like your stories. We should go virtual camping sometime and tell stories (Lord knows I won't go real camping).

Some years ago I went to NY and we visit Liberty Island. My cousing was hungry so she went into restaurant and bought some fries. When she came out, a flock of seagulls were flying over her trying to get the fries. The poor girl had to run and drop the fries. I guess that's why no one was eating outside lol.
