My only interactions with you on this page (that I'm aware of ) are me saying that i don't believe all police officers are going out of their way to proclaim their faith in police departments or are actively trying to change their departments (if even possible) to be more "Christian". I was not trying to talk down on you or anything, you just simply gave me the impression of being biased toward police.
Yes. It is written in the Bible that Christians will be killed. But the truth is, Christians are the killers. Historically, a lot of blood has been shed in God's name. Men have enslaved other men and women in God's name. God's name is used to protect Christians with a sense that they are doing right when what they are doing is corrupt and wrong.
Do we need people in special forces, the police and the military? We do. But killing is always wrong whatever the reason and Jesus does not condone it.
“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old, ‘Thou shalt not kill,’ and ‘Whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment.’

A man or woman who is cop, when he or she believes in God and cultivates Christian values in their service and in their jobs, that will help them get back to God one day.
People who go for that kind of life know what they're getting into. If they're going in, then it's up to them to come out of it too. And only God can help them through that perilous journey. They're going in not for God, they're going because most of them like to hurt others and kill. Very few will hold the view of dispensing justice in service of those who are deprived of it.
As much as you would find many lawyers in hell, cops are no different. Not to generalize. Everyone of us will have our day in court while we are alive and we all use legal services somewhere during our lifetime or so many times during our life time.
None of us are perfect. This world isn't perfect. The way the system works isn't perfect. The aim then should be to bring as much change in all of this doing the best we can, in whatever field we are in and holding the principles and the life God wants us to live close to heart.
Those who question all this and stand for what is right and give their lives to bring about a change are the true heroes. Like MLK Jr, Malcolm X, Che Guevara. Their ways were not perfect either. But they strived for better lives for the people more than cops, lawyers and doctors ever have. Because we all work within the lines of the system, never once questioning why it is the way it is. Because that would mean trouble for ourselves.

I understand pretty much what you're saying except for the "killing" part. If someone breaks into my house and attacks my family, am I supposed to let them die ? Will I be in danger of judgement if I "kill the person who's trying to kill me or my family ? I don't really think Jesus/God is saying not to "kill" but rather not to murder. There's really no guarantee that we will not kill someone with in our life time while living in a falling world. Yes some jobs do put you into situations where you'll have to decide to take someone's life. But I think self defense still applies, and i highly doubt God would punish someone who tried to defend his life or the lives of others.
Our curse as mortals is never being able to do anything 100% right. Only Jesus did this. Even with the best intentions, praying to God during it all, we will mess something up along the way. But does this mean we should not, as a society, TRY to uphold morality and law?.... GOD FORBID! It is only by the image of God within us all that has imprinted a standard of righteousness, and a strong desire to uphold it. Which manifests as our consensus of judicial systems....no matter how flawed they are.
There is corruption everywhere; but when it has a stronghold on people with authority, that is one of the greatest challenges to your faith in life. It's supposed to be hard to stand up to people with positions of authority, because authority comes from God, and you should never HAVE to stand up to a person with authority, because THEY should be doing the right thing. But people arent perfect.
So, it is a really big challenge where you really have to trust in God, that he will see you through the lion's den, and the fiery furnace.

"Thou shalt not kill" is better translated as "murder", not merely "kill".
That changes the understanding.
Most who claim to be Christian aren't really, Jesus told us most would have an outward form of godliness denying the power thereof, however His Own would do greater works than He.
Yes this is one of the examples of a KJv issue. I've encountered at least one person that this was one of their problems with the bible (contradiction).
There are different categories where the line is finer...like after you know that an ox has been known to gore (which can be translated to modern scenarios)
