And when you [do] feel the Right Hand of Salvation envelope you, you will never be the same.
KJV - "Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great."
HNV - "So that your beloved may be delivered, Save with your right hand, and answer us."
Jesus is that Right Hand, the Hand that performs a most Holy Operation of Faith . . . the Circumcision of the Sinful Nature. When this Curse is lifted, the Presence of God may envelop you as an olive is enveloped by liquid in a glass.
And when you feel the Power of God, the Power that created the universe, parted the Red Sed and Jordan River (twice), you will know things that only a handful are allowed to know. And when this happens, you will KNOW that you have been chosen, just as Saul/Paul was chosen while traveling the Damascus Road.
2ndTimothyGroup,
Thank you so much for your response. You don't know how much it means to me!
My question is why? When I am stressed and scared at night, I pray that God will visit me and place his hand on me and that I may feel his presence and his hand.
I just am prudent enough to recognize my own sinful nature.
I'm sorry to hear this. The single most important thing that any human ought to ascend to, is the Circumcision of the Sinful Nature, the Curse of the Lord that first began in early Genesis. The removal of the Sinful Nature is the fulcrum of the True Christian Faith.
Colossians 2:11 NLT - "When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision--the cutting away of your sinful nature."
I have not attained "one step away from sinless perfection"
It's ridiculous to even think like that.
Look at Job.
God claimed that he was a good guy...but when Job seen God he despised himself in sackcloth and ashes.
On my best day, doing my most holy acts presenting God with my best works its still disgusting....because I'm infected on a genetic level with a sin nature.
BUT
For whatever insane reason God has seen fit to grant me sonship...as said in John 1:12.
And I am the ugly red-headed step child....you know....the one thats a bit easier to beat and spank than the Natural child.
Which is why I'm happy to not attract attention to myself.
His focus on me is troubling to me.
Would you be troubled if Jesus focused on you and washed your feet?
8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
