Well, I've got to head off to bed now because I have to get up really early for work tomorrow.

I'll watch the video that you linked to some other time and then offer you my evaluation of it (I already know that he's crazy, but I'll listen to the loon one more time).

Btw, when I mentioned Hovind's time in prison, I was referring to the 10 years (I think) that he spent there for income tax evasion. Apparently, he was also arrested last year on charges of domestic violence for allegedly body-slamming his wife:

https://www.al.com/news/mobile/2021...ind-arrested-on-domestic-violence-charge.html
That is why I have mixed feeling about him as a person. But not everything He says is crazy.

Of course if He's crazy, she's probably crazy too. It isn't like these are young people.

Domestic violence

Hovind was arrested in Alabama on July 30, 2021, for allegedly throwing his estranged wife, Cindi Lincoln, to the ground in October 2020. Additionally, she petitioned for a protective order in Conecuh County, Alabama, saying that she had to go to the emergency room after being "bodyslammed". She has also stated that she had been threatened by one of Hovind's associates.[185][186][187] At a bench trial in the Connecuh County Courthouse on September 20, 2021, he was found guilty of domestic violence. He was sentenced to one year in jail which would be suspended following 30 days in the county jail to start by October 18, fined $500, and ordered to pay restitution for medical expenses.[188] A request for a retrial was denied, and an appeal triggered a jury trial in the Alabama Circuit Courts.[189]

How do you see this happening? Just by being sincere?
Are there scriptures that support this scenario?

The reason I ask is because I believe from reading the Word, that there is much more to it than simply being sincere in your "search"....
There is much more that could be said. The simple message I am hoping to convey is that God will guide towards Jesus those that are earnestly seeking for knowledge on how to live godly lives. He takes note of the sincere and goodly aims of one's heart, and He has indicated that He will not leave suchlike ignorant.

I agree with that statement... thanks for clarifying ...

Thank you for articulating this. I was hoping that they may see this of their own accord.
There is a delimma, do not cast our pearls, or more importantly, the Lord's pearls, before swine, but in a group there is wheat amongst the tares that will understand and be encouraged, and those that are borderline might be convicted to stop and think!
Watchman Nee has an interesting take on "dogs" and "swine". Paul describes those who want to inflict Jewish traditions on believers as dogs. A pig is an "unclean" animal because it has no fur. However, it does have a cloven hoof, so it partly fits the description of a clean animal. How do you tell on an anonymous platform like this? Only by their reaction to truth. I hate to let responses go unchallenged, not for the sake of the responder but for those who might be misled by them. And there comes a time where it's pointless to continue a discussion.

There is no certainty that OSAS is true. People who believe but who do not act accordingly (such as forgive, or have hate in their hearts) may not be forgiven and presumably will not have automatic entry to Heaven.

For example:

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. 14So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him....17Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.
Tell me how it is possible to be unborn again? What aspect of eternal life is not eternal? If no one can pluck us out of Jesus' hand, how can we not go to heaven? That's where Jesus is now.

Even the sinner at Corinth was still saved. Even the unbelievers would not sin as he had.

The problem is that most people do not know what it means to be saved. Neither do many know what believing to salvation means. So many people who supposedly lost salvation were not saved in the first place.

Being born again is to come into a relationship with God. Sin affects fellowship; it does not affect relationship.

Was King David condemned to hell after he committed adultery and murder? His life was far from sinless. Yet Jesus is called "Son of David." Those who imagine that they can lose their salvation are ignorant of God's ways. It's a shame because it diminishes the glory and grace of God and His power to keep us from falling.

People don’t understand what they’re being saved from is part of the issue. They are saved from God’s wrath. The Bible is careful to never actually say that all saved people go to heaven, or Abraham’s bosom, paradise, etc.

The New Testament keeps saying “believe this and you get eternal life!” Sounds good right, but where do you get eternal life at?

Don't quote specific people like about where the thief on the cross got eternal life, or where the rich man and Lazarus got eternal life, or where the apostles got eternal life, or where Jesus is, etc.

I want to know where you’re going for eternity and how you know that based on which scripture.

I have to get ready for work now, but I did just watch the first two minutes of the Hovind video.

Hovind is clearly the HERETIC, and I'll document exactly why from scripture when I have more time to do so.

Ttyl.

We see from Paul that it is possible for people that have tasted of the mercy of the cross, and taught the ways of God, to ditch their faith by turning their loyalty back to the world. Paul says there is no way back for them. There's no provision for their spirit to be brought to life a second time, they have lost their salvation.

John says "If we confess our sins, God is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". So we can deduce that if we ignore our sins and continue our way merrily in them, we won't be forgiven nor will we be cleansed of unrighteousness, even if our spirit had previously been brought to life.

God will not be mocked. If we are persistently lukewarm, let alone cold, in our efforts to adhere to His ways, we certainly can't claim to be followers of Jesus. Jesus indicated that people such as these will be 'vomited from His mouth', ie discarded as sickly and unusable waste.

I Corinthians chapter 9

[24] Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
[25] And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
[26] I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
[27] But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Should I expect a counter from Romans chapter 7, which is probably the most regularly butchered chapter in the Bible?

(He puts on his flame-retardant suit and backs away from the wooden tree as he awakens the fire-breathing Gojira)

Whatever the case may be, I'm NOT condoning that guy's video. Like I said, it contains both error and truth, and that's a dangerous mixture.
I'm not breathing fire on anyone (today). All I can say is that I know no Christian anywhere who has not tripped up and done things he / she has had to repent of later. Any Christian who says they do not sin anymore, ever, is a liar.

Perhaps if you prayed the sinners prayer, your not really a Christian. Here is what Ray Comfort says about that.

Why don't you pray the "Sinner's Prayer" with people?

Why Doesn’t Ray Comfort Use the Sinner’s Prayer?

Why Salvation DOESN’T Come by Asking Jesus into Your Heart

You'll Stop Using the Sinner's Prayer After Watching This

Going on a little scripture and my feelings, I think I'm going to hell. And I don't think there is anything I can do about it. I was working on a blog about this. Trying to explaining it all, I have over a half of a page. The only reason why I didn't post it today. Is because I'm afraid that it might generate a little too much attention for me to handle.

I haven't watched the videos yet, maybe I will later.

I will only say that the Word says this: "9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

If you confess Jesus is Lord, you pass from death to life. Everyone, OSAS or not, agrees with this.

I find nothing wrong in the Sinner's Prayer and have prayed it many times. But I like the Lord's Prayer better.

The Lord said, if you keep praying for something, you will surely receive it, in His Name. Pray for the Grace to be saved, and you will.

"Mat 6:

The Lord's Prayer:

9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11Give us this day our daily bread.

12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

My personal opinion is that everyone needs to take the first step of faith. And I think that often comes in the form of a prayer. And I think that is why the "Sinners Prayer" was formulated. But it can be prayed with motives. And i have often wondered if maybe I prayed it with wrong motives. But there seems to be this other weird thing. That is, once you got in Jesus into your heart, then you got to live "holy" or else. We got to define the word "holy" because as far as I can tell, nobody is ever completely "holy". So then it seems that there are specific sins that a believer better not commit. or at least not on a regular basis, or He or She ends up in Hell anyways.

the internet is great for going down rabbit holes
you can find anything that confirms your beliefs, even if they are wrong.

The thing is, when lonely and looking for answers, the first thing I would do is NOT go on youtube. I would pray and ask God what it is that is troubling me, and then look in the Bible.

With this issue, it seems to me that you have people wanting to believe, but yet cant quite believe.
it is like the man that said 'Lord I believe, help me in my unbelief!' see Mark 9:24

Sanctification is a process, of washing INSIDE as well as outside the cup

As a washer of dirty dishes, I can tell you that sometimes you can miss things if you dont do it thoroughly. Dont just splatter water, immerse the cups IN the water to get a good clean.

A pig is an "unclean" animal because it has no fur.
Clean animals are those that chew the cud and have a divided hoof, such as cattle, deer, goats,
and sheep; seafood with both fins and scales, such as bluegill, grouper, and cod; certain birds,
including chickens, doves, and ducks; and even some insects, such as grasshoppers and locusts.

How is fur a deciding factor?

So, I was watching the last video, and everything was okay until Comfort stated that Christians still have the old Adamic nature.

That's a load of rubbish, even though it's commonly taught and believed by millions.

It's one of the biggest lies ever told by Satan, and it's hindered countless believers throughout the ages from walking in the fulness of what Christ has actually purchased for us.

I would agree with you on this one because sanctification is a process. That said, we should be growing to be more Christlike every day.
