It scares me a lil bit that I understood you at the crack of the bat, Stilly :)

Since typed opinions can easily be taken the wrong way, perhaps it's just a way of softening the tone. If you read the example gypsytraveler typed, you can see how it might do that. Getting to the point is great, but it can make one appear callous or abrupt at times. Just a thought...
Great minds...

The word that bugs me the most is "I".

Could you please enlighten us? Stilly's explanation just made me twice as confused as I was before.

Note: I have no idea who this kid is.

Lol i'm shocked this is so puzzling to some..ok I provided this as a template statement with the word sometimes inserted as an example of our over use...

template example --->Sometimes we *fill in the blank observation* when we really need to *fill in the blank suggest thing to do.*

Here are actual statements as examples.....

Sometimes we're waiting for God to bring us the one, when God is saying we need to get up and find the one...

Sometimes we think we need more rules to get rid of sin, when we really need to pray for a changed heart.

Sometimes we beat ourselves up because we don't accomplish everything, when really we need to quit being hard on ourselves.

------

So I guess I see Christians using this same thought and sentence structure a lot! It's just one of them oddities I've picked up on. Guess no one else has...*shrugs* Although next time you hear someone start out a sentence with 'sometimes', you WILL remember this post..
Ok, if I only read the bolded part I think what you are saying is that we need to stop and look at the bigger picture for a solution if the problem seems to be persistent. Is that close?

Lol it was an observation on how we/Christians use the word

"SOMETIMES" in a general sentence structure.

Those sentences with the word "SOMETIMES" were examples of the use of the word "SOMETIMES" to illustrate that sometimes, we use the word "SOMETIMES" a lot in that given sentence structure.

It's just a random observations I've noticed of Christians.

Youre kidding! It was that simple?? lol It would have been better to use "term" instead of "word", as in "we use the term 'sometimes' too much" LOL I need to go get some breakfast! :D

Question. Do Christians use the word sometimes too much? I hear this general sentence structure a ton from us Christians..

Sometimes we *fill in the blank observation* when we really need to *fill in the blank suggest thing to do*.

Not that it matters..just an observation...

Maybe sometimes we need to find a word to replace sometimes when we really need a new buzz word..

I now crown myself the smartest person on CC because i understood this perfectly :D

I will crown myself as stupid because I didn't get it the first time.

A thread that was started as a way to tell people to maybe be more to the point....wasn't. Is this the definition of irony?
