Some folks sit around whining, crying, complaining, woeismeing about how tough things are for them, and how hard they struggle just to live. I'm sure everyone here knows someone like this. So, I was wondering...........

WHAT IF GOD WERE TO SAY:

"Hey! Knock it off! Instead of whining, crying, complaining, woeismeing all day long, try counting your blessings! And while your at it; GET YOUR BUTT UP and get busy doing what I purposed you to do!""

I wonder......hmm.................

No comments huh? :)

Y'all know that this is pretty much what God told Job, right? :)

God finally got tired of all of Jobs bellyaching and answered him.....

Chapter 40:

6Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

8Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

9Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

10Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

God can get tired of peoples complaining, just as He can tire of their determination to live sin filled lives in direct disobedience to Him. Chapter 1 of Romans reveals this.

I would love to know all of the things Jesus had to say to the moneychangers defiling the Temple the day He kicked them out........

Even better, I would love for Jesus to tell us just once:

Hey, been there, done that, got the T-Shirt, wrote the Book, stared in the Movie, and got the scars to prove it! So get rid of the spirit of fear and start living like I forgave you of your sins and washed you with My blood and made you worthy to be Heirs to the Promise. JUST BELIEVE!

My view on this

WHAT IF GOD WERE TO SAY:

"Hey! Knock it off! Instead of whining, crying, complaining, woeismeing all day long, try counting your blessings! And while your at it; GET YOUR BUTT UP and get busy doing what I purposed you to do!""
To me this sounds more like what Satan would say -----then God ---the Israelite did a lot of what you have here and God showed His Mercy and patients with them ---He never said -------GET YOUR BUTT UP and get busy doing what I purposed you to do! -----God allowed them to have their way -----and gave them what they wanted which was rules to follow ---the 10 commandment ----came to be -----
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
This piece of Scripture that you Quote here ------you take as God being fed up with Job ---that is not correct -----in order to understand what is going on with this statement you need to go back and read Chapters 38 and 39 ---

God in 40:7 poses a challenge to Job -----as Job in previous chapters have accused God of an injustice ---so God is saying Gird up your loins like a man -------this phrase means this ---------Prepare oneself for action

Dictionary meaning

gird up one's loins. Prepare oneself for action, as in I'm girding up my loins for that crucial interview. This expression comes from the Bible (Proverbs 31:17

I say -------Job has made a statement against God and He is giving Job a chance to address it to Him ----He is able and willing to hear what Job has to say ------so He is not telling Job to get off his but and do what God proposes him to do ---

This is how scripture is taken out of context and we try to make it say ---what we want it to say ------dividing wrongly the Word of God -------

I understand the spirit of what you are saying. But with the situation ahead of us, I think a lot of people are in shock and fear of the future. Don't want to drag this into politics, so I will leave it there.

Kinda don’t have to wonder, God’s been saying that for a long time.

One of the most persistent sins of the Israelites was their complaining.

It’s something we, especially Americans, do exceptionally well, regardless of how incredibly blessed we are.

I fully understand what God said to Job, and He certainly WAS tired of Job complaining, and certainly tired of Job demanding God "counsel" with him.
You are entitled to your understanding, but there is no way I can see anyone reading Chapter 40 and NOT REALIZE that God was "dressing" Job down for believing he had a right to "demand" anything of God. In fact, the true message (IMO) is that God was saying:

WHO ARE YOU TO ASK ME WHY?

I never said this. You are mixing up my comments to find reasons for criticizing them? Hmm..........

I agree completely, and you have done a good job of just that. :)

In many instances in Scripture, God had some pretty hard things to say about Israel, and other peoples.

Jesus had some pretty rough stuff to say to the Sadujicifolks and the Pharasifolks didn't He?

The Apostle Paul had some rough things to call the sinners he described in the 1st Chapter of Romans, huh?

Imagine if I had used the same language to describe folks that the Apostle did.... :)

God IS a loving God, but it seems some folks don't realize that God is ALSO an ANGRY God at times. Talk about something to fear! The wrath of God!

As well, I see lots of people living like they are still living in sin, rather than living like they have been redeemed! We need to live like we are the children of God and HEIRS TO THE PROMISE; not to eternal damnation.

I have been through alot in my life . So sometimes just listen and give a understanding ear. But some seem to never get past this. I try and pray God opens their eyes . Like Jesus did to the woman at the well showed love and compassion.
Sometimes best just to give to God and stay away from it seems the drama. Either way we are to be kind. We all walk different walks. All of us cannot cast stones. Especially not me.

True.

However, both God and Jesus, and the Apostle Paul had some very rough things to say about those living in disobedience to God and the Gospel.

And I said.....WHAT IF God were to say.......not this is what I would say. But, I would love to hear them say such. :)

Sometimes, folks need to be spoken to in plain english to get their attention.

God, Jesus or the Apostle "calling out" people who live in disobedience is not "casting stones" right?

It is true that God set straight Job, however there is much more there then most see.
When you read the Book of Job, taking special note of the beginning and end.

I think there is a season for all thkngs godly sorrow comes to us and some can’t deal good with it .

one thing about Jesus is his compassion not towards the capable and well
Maintained but towards those who recognize the mess they are in and thier oncapability but they notice Jesus is able and willing so they respond like this

“And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: and hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:35-43‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m sure I imagine anyways this guy had my tires and complained and felt sorry for himself before but then he saw even before he was healed he saw Jesus near d cross out for mercy and was blessed and became a disciple

I guess what I’m saying is sometimes it take really low points In life to turn us more towards God and internal struggles seem common things like self pity for a time , complaining ect eventually there is a season that overcomes understanding how it is when we are at our weakest points , that we really are the strongest because Jesus is able to handle what we cannot but what we can we’re expected to

there’s a season that it’s actually good for a person to get low in tbier mknd and heart , it’s part of repentance when we recognize how complaining and mor prong isnt ever gonna help so I understand your post

would just say God works in mysterious ways some times like the old saying goes d he’s never short on compassion for the weak and able to make them strong

Oh saint i know what your talking about....but....GODs not saying that...in fact quite the opposite.
I believe his message is humble yourselves. Nothing more humbling than despair.
I believe your talking about these days right here where there seems to be scarcely any good news.
What if i told you this is exactly what God has ordered. All this foolishness from the white house? All the violence and hate? All the drama and then some. Some would say "not my GOD" he would never. I say but he has and he will.
He holds all things together the government's are on his shoulders .
Would God bless a nation where hes not wanted. Will he prosper where he is not welcomed.
Did not the prophets that spoke the truth suffer with the ones that beleive the lie.
My message to all that find their self in despair by a sudden change in current affairs...
Has God got your attention now.

Yeah, but, I said "WHAT IF GOD WERE TO SAY?"

Still God did say:

2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

.......and, if you think about it..........that is pretty much what I said I would love to hear God say is it not?

Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

God does not like laziness but wants us to always be trying to extend the kingdom of God.

It is like the people who say Capitalism is the reason things are tough while they tweet from an Iphone and sip on a Starbucks.

That may not be true. God actually commended Job as noted in Job 42:7: And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

However, it is true that Christians should not be whining when there is much work to be done.
