How do we know Him? Only as "Savior" and not as Lord of our lives? That will surely fail us.

During the most somber night of His life, Jesus warned His apostles that a betrayer was among them. Deeply grieved, each asked, “Surely not I, Lord?” Finally, Judas also answered, saying, “Surely it is not I, Rabbi?” (Mt. 26:20–25). Do we see this? The other disciples, though flawed, knew Jesus as Lord and Christ’s words were commands, not just teachings. However, in the eyes of Judas Jesus was only “Rabbi” (teacher). The lordship of Christ never replaced the self-will of Judas. Let us search our hearts: Are Christ's words just teachings which we can take or leave or are they the commands of the Lord of Heaven? – In Christ’s Image Training (icitc.org)

After salvation many or most stop. We are required to renew our minds to see the as He sees it, as our mind becomes renewed the "personality" changes. One evidence is no longer do the words, I, me, mine, shown up in our regular speech.
Jesus said "I only do what I see the Father do", and "I only say what I hear the Father say", and we know that He modeled how we are each to live. He only did for others, He did not seek His own in any area of His life.
That is how you, I , each of us is to live to find the joy of living that He desires for us.
If we incorrectly focus on ourselves we will always be unhappy, depressed, and miss the mark .
There is nothing new under the sun.

How old were you when you became a Christian?

I became a Christian at the age of six. Now I could talk about all the times that I recommitted my life to the lord. But that wasn't the spark that got it all started. I think people who come to Christ at a very young age often have different experiences then the people who come to Christ at an older age. What do you think?

This blog feels old to me. I started it back in May 18, 2022. Today is June 20, 2022. I had gotten a couple comments, and I thought the blog was pretty much done. Then last night it got bumped. It's just interesting to me, how all of a sudden people started to notice it. (((shruggs)))

As someone who has spent most of his life friendless, and even in pain. I've been observing people, and wondering things like. If I'm trying to be a good person. A kind person. A generous person. Then why on earth do people not like me? The only reasons I could come up with is: 1) I'm not into sports. 2) I have nothing anyone values. or 3) It's my personality.
First of all, you just described my life.

I think that I can honestly say that I've only had one real friend (I'm talking about people I've actually met as opposed to just chatting online) in my entire life, and that individual now hates me. In fact, we haven't spoken for about 20 or 21 years now.

Secondly, those aren't the only three options as to why people don't like you. As for me, I'm not into sports, nor do I have anything that people value, either...although they should value my honesty, integrity, and a host of other related things.

I've often considered that it's my personality or just me as well. After all, if you're the common denominator, then there's a chance that you are the problem.

However, in both your case and mine, I honestly don't believe that is the real issue. Instead, I honestly believe that most people in the world are so lost that they value what is of no real value while having no interest at all in what is truly valuable in God's sight.

Personally, I find you to be very refreshing in that I don't detect even a drop of pretense in you.

Have a blessed night.

yes deep inside you know they don't like you so it starts the sad feelings and shyness feelings even stronger
You're very likeable.

The only reason that I stopped talking to you privately is because of your marital status.

Like Seeking-Christ, I find you to be quite refreshing as well.

Have a blessed night.

I think you are missing what was posted, talking "about" Him and/or misses the mark.
Faith acts, faith requires us to act on that faith, not merely talk.
When we have our faith right, we are no longer our own, His thoughts and desires become ours, and we realize our
opinion, or what do I "think" is irrelevant. If we insist on dwelling on it we end up where you are, unhappy with ourselves and our lives.

I hope your doing well. :) i would say that I agree with everything you said at 97%! Because I got no idea how many people are truly saved verses not truly saved. I completely leave that judgement to God. I think it's hard to inspect the fruits of others. Because sometimes people are ruff around the edges, due to what life has thrown at them. My issues are with people who call themselves Christians, and yet on a social level they are choosy of others just like the world is.

Then go to the Lord and ask His clarification, we are required to do that with ALL things, as per scripture, Holy Spirit was given to guide us in ALL truth, and we are VERY clearly told to lean not on our own understanding.
