Actually the earth is square. The bible throughout talks about the 4 corners of the earth.
You cant have a corner in a circle or a flat grade. Corner is horizontal to vertical.
If you see something out of the corner of your eye,
does that make your eye square? And flat?

Oh, wait, corners can only be three dimensional? o_O

:giggle:

I realize you were joking ;)

I think

For several years, I was on secular forum. A very large number of them were either Atheists or Agnostics. They made fun of Christians for believing the Earth is flat. I was shocked! I was like, who in 2018 believes the Earth is flat? So I started doing some research and was shocked to discover that there are people who believe the Earth is flat, and most of them seemed to be people of faith. Then I just fell out of my chair! Not literally. I mean, goodness, people really are going down the tubes!

Well you shouldn't let the mockery of the wicked get to you seeing as all the infidels are wrong about everything all the time. They will mock everything in the Bible because they are evil fools.

I don't think the Bible is a good source for determining if the Earth is flat or round. Some of it is figurative speech. You either believe your own eyes, or NASA, or you don't.

I watched part of a documentary on Netflix about flat earthers. Their numbers have grown
-as has been commented on by @Eli1 and possibly others- due to the rise of social media.
I only watched part of the documentary, up to the point where the flat earthers' attempts to
prove their theories failed one after the other. At the same time they pooh-pooh conventional
science, they borrow heavily from those very same scientists for data. Kind of funny, really...

The Bible is a good source for all things. Trust God over the organizations of unbelievers and even your own perception. Let God be true, let man be liars.

I have watched plenty of stuff about this, and it is a mess. It's a sad mess really.

When it comes to the Bible, context is king.

You can make the Bible say whatever you want. Context is king.

Both sides pull from scripture and come up with different results.

No, what is written is written, and the truth will not change for all the gaslighting in the world of lies, and even after the world is destroyed the truth will still stand because God is the Truth.

It's the understanding of truth that gets confused.

The context in which the verses for flat earth reside are figurative in nature. It doesn't make sense to cherrypick the bits that are allegedly about flat earth and then say they're literal.

They were probably trolling. Most Christians don't seem to be flat-earthers. So when you went looking for Christian flat-earthers on the Internet you found them. You can also find Christians who are anti-flat earth. You can find pretty much anything on the Internet. It's just confirmation bias. Most atheists aren't looking to represent people of faith fairly. Actually, if an atheist talks a lot about being atheist they are probably a bit militant in their beliefs.

Jeremiah 25:31
31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord.

You should vote In the poll.:coffee::)

Poll's in a thread are sort of puzzling in that if one vote's at the beginning then there is proof that they had their mind up before the discussion began and were not willing to listen. Should I vote now or wait and consider the things the other posters say on the matter?

You don't take a metaphor and convert it into a geographical fact. What about "the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Mt 24:31)? Is that not a metaphor?
What if there really are four winds - coming out from the four corners of the earth - that maintain the jet stream currents?

Do you accept this as being literal?:

Revelation 7:

1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
