I still think many who took the mark did it to worship the government. Maybe worship is too strong a word, but it was certainly obeisance - giving the government an honour or status that is not befitting it (elevating government to a status/place to which it does not belong - sound familiar?) Render unto Caesar, the things which be Caesar's, but to God, the things that be God's... Who's image is on the man?
The book of Daniel describes the situation before the tribulation, you are not allowed to pray to anyone other than Nebuchadnezzar. This is why this recent Supreme court ruling is so significant about the teacher who was fired because he prayed. Then during the tribulation everyone is made to bow and worship before the image of Nebuchadnezzar, those that don't are thrown into the fiery furnace. That is depicting the fact that they will force you to worship the image of the beast during the tribulation and if you don't you will be executed.

This life is a mist...it's here and then it's gone. It's not all there is. We are just passing through. Honestly, when it's my time to go, I'll be relieved. I've been ill and in pain for so long, and alone.

It could be a sudden acceleration of climate change causing the deaths, which could explain Biden's rush to do away with fossil fuels.
Or it could be that Putin has unique psychic powers that he is using on us!
Or it could be that Trump being president has had an unforeseen and little-understood effect on the atomic structure of matter. Everything else is a conspiracy theory!
Except for my original theory that while I was sleeping, aliens kidnapped me and took me to Doppelganger! Which, when I look at the world today, seems most likely!
The CDC is using Elmo to encourage kids to get the vaccine. That is the point.
