There may already be one that I can't see, but I'm wondering whether it might not be a bad idea to have a mens' forum like the one the ladies have.

From time to time we see thread after thread re: porn and other sensitive topics that would be great to post in an all male forum. It would also appear from some entries today that there are guys who have questions re: matters of intimacy in marriage that other guys could help with, as we do in the womens' forum that the guys can't see.

Just a thought..

If you already have one that I can't see cos I'm a woman, ignore me. :) But, if that's the case, I'm wondering why some guys aren't creating some of these more sensational threads there rather than the mixed gender threads, given that we have some VERY young chatters in the mix.

God bless!

I'm definitely not against the idea. (And to satisfy your curiosity Jullianna, no we don't have a secret forum like the women.)

I haven't had a decent amount of things to post as of yet, but I suppose if there were a men's only section I could get opinions from JUST the men on the forum. Not that I don't like the ladies comments (enjoyable, yes. but biased, also.) I suppose I'm just another man who wants male-directed bias somewhere. lol

I totally agree, jaydawg. Some issues don't really require input from the opposite gender...just confuses things.

I've worked with Vbulletin before, so I understand the little things that go into creating another forum. Although the problem of moderation is simple because most of the mods who are on here often are of the male gender.

This idea has been suggested in the past.

A forum I say yes..

A room specifically for either gender I say absolutely, categorically not.

But a forum would be fine :)

I vote yes.

Yeah, gender-segregated chat rooms wouldn't be a good idea at all. :p

I would just like to point out the irony.. that it was a "woman" who was the OP. lol

This is a good idea in theory. but oddly every forum i've ever been on with a 'mens' section, the mens section is almost never used. typically at the beginning a few men will post, few will respond and months will go by with no activity. this may be the reason no mens forum exists now.

I agree, Katie, a room would be a bit much. Ugly, that's such a shame. Men encouraging other men is an awesome thing.

It's not like it would be mandatory, TDWP22, if you don't want to post, don't post.... Kinda like every other thread and forum on this entire site. :D

But it'd be there for those who would want to use it.

Where's the irony? My comment was that I wouldn't agree to a specific room for EITHER gender.

For the record though, the current girls-only forum is only viewable to the female moderators.

So, I guess if there were a mens-only forum, it would be programmed the same way (only viewable to male Moderators).

So again I ask, where is the irony?

Here's the 'irony', ah! Now get to work and make sure you don't forget the underwear this time (and no starch please). lol

That would actually be funny, if I actually bothered to iron. The ONLY things I iron are my work uniform shirts, and only because I'm required to not look like a slob at work. Everything else I don't iron- I intentionally buy clothes that don't need ironing. For those few items I do own, that need ironing- I have discovered I can avoid the task, by simply hanging them out to dry on a coathanger in the sun. Simple.. they practically iron themselves.

Who said that being thrifty with domestic duties is not part of being a virtuous woman?

Exactly!! Why create extra, unnecessary work for yourself?

The irony comment wasn't directed towards you.... Thus why you couldn't see my point. (Which wasn't really a point, more of an non-serious comment which you took WAY too seriously..)
