Perhaps should of said work feels like high school. You have the cool kids, the rich kids, mean girls , the ones that just want to get thru the day. Being older I find no need for drama and myself just want to get my work done and go home. I talk to very few women at my work seems they have a belittling look on alot of people that are not them. You see I am a porter which some seem to be beneath them. Sad because I do have more education then most people I work with or around. But never wanted to flaunt it ,to me what seems insignificant. I talk to everyone pretty much the same way. I was the same way in the military. Sure higher ranks demanded respect , but that with humor goes a long ways.
I just wonder at times why at any age some find it or think it is their right of passage to belittle others or mistreat them because of their status quo . I actually have job offers starting out making alot more then those who are seemingly rude to me or others. I have done their factory job, I have helped setup presses and read blue prints. But find the job tedious and atm hotter then being a porter(AKA as house keeper ;) ) .
But all the knowledge in the world means nothing after all if you are not a disciple for Jesus. For this I will not think I am better no matter the job, education or status quo then fastfood workers, cashiers etc. I think the way to go thru life is to look at others thru God's eyes and see the heart. Just find these people or places seemingly like high school is all ;)
You as a person are worth much more than that. God has not left you destitute. You are working for a living. It doesn't matter what job it is. You don't have to be arrogant to anyone that looks down on you. But please do defend yourself if you think your self respect is at stake. That's all. Never allow anyone to disrespect you as a human being and as a person no matter what the circumstances. Except maybe when you need something very badly done and that may mean foregoing that self respect. But even then that is by your choice. God knows what you need. He will give you what is best. And He has something better than what you already have. God bless you friend. I'm sharing a passage below which might be of comfort for you.

25 “This is why I tell you: do not be worried about the food and drink you need in order to stay alive, or about clothes for your body. After all, isn't life worth more than food? And isn't the body worth more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds: they do not plant seeds, gather a harvest and put it in barns; yet your Father in heaven takes care of them! Aren't you worth much more than birds? 27 Can any of you live a bit longer[c] by worrying about it?

28 “And why worry about clothes? Look how the wild flowers grow: they do not work or make clothes for themselves. 29 But I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers. 30 It is God who clothes the wild grass—grass that is here today and gone tomorrow, burned up in the oven. Won't he be all the more sure to clothe you? What little faith you have!

31 “So do not start worrying: ‘Where will my food come from? or my drink? or my clothes?’ 32 (These are the things the pagans are always concerned about.) Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things. 33 Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things. 34 So do not worry about tomorrow; it will have enough worries of its own. There is no need to add to the troubles each day brings.

A man running from a bear.
I do not see it, Thanks for letting me know. Maybe it would be fun to add the joke about I only have to out run the other guy. Also, make sure he has a candy bar in his pocket, so if you are slower the bear will keep on going after him.

the only thing I liked about it was the girls. first year I dated two different girls who were friends and fully away of this. Next year they introduced me to their twin sisters. So, that year I dated all four. The next year they triple sisters, boy was I surprised.
The last year one introduced me to her fourth twin so to speak. All the others introduced me to many of their friends. Each year I had many group dates. All of whom I took to church and many got saved. It was also a great place to learn to share Jesus.

I had a great time in high school. Best time of my life.
Whats described in the OP happens at any stage in life. Drama at work for example. You got the popular groups, brown nosers and those who speak common sense.
All of this drama can happen at any time not just high school.
High school has more innocence actually as opposed to the office work drama.

I never took drama in high school...I did boring subjects like chemistry and english and biology lol

maybe taking drama would have made it more fun? I dont know wasnt given much choice
We had to wear uniform, not costumes.

I suppose if we actually DID have costumes to wear, it would have been a bit more interesting?
I mean, was there a dress code at your high school or could you wear anything you wanted. I mean, it would have been cool just to wear pyjamas right?

We had a dress code in grade school but not high school. High school had no official dress code but if you wore something inappropriate, you’d get called to the principal’s office.

And when I’m talking about drama, I’m understanding it in the same sense as the OP, not as an art class.

university was more interesting. I could read as many books as I wanted to and hang out in the library and nobody would think you weird or anti social for doing so lol

anyway, if you loved high school and you really wanted to work there, you could just go back to it and teach.

I think I'll pass on that one...

the thing about drama is ...you have to emote. You dont have to necessarily be the loudest one to do so or be in the spotlight. You dont even have to be on stage.
You could be the playwright, the director, the usher, the prompt, or the one in the audience with the popcorn.

People have dramas to pass the time basically. The job must be really boring, so thats just what they do. Everyone is a different character, you just got to find yours and play your part. Find your motivation.

You dont have to be 'the drama queen'

huh I dont remember ever being called for the principals office but I do remember having detention for *gasp* the wrong shoes

They had buckles on them instead of laces. It was offensive apparently. But nobody noticed except one day when *they* decided to crack down on it. Otherwise I dont think the teachers cared as long as they had their job security

I LOVED high school. It was a place I could escape from my reality. I worked at night, went to school during the day, got active in drama, music and sports and attended an active church youth group, so I was rarely home. It was perfect.

Mine was boxing, chess and choir and active youth group. I dated the priciples twin daughters, so I was on a first name basis with everyone in the Office. I was called down a few times --- one time for a Jesus lives t-shirt. One time, I pulled off the Senior Prank without trying. I worked after school as a Janitor to earn money for my 196? Ford Mustang. One day I was called at home to come early. There was under the building tunnels and two sets of wires were pulled out of a tunnel. A set of wires went down each side of the walls in there. So, I put on my overalls, crawled into the tunnerel to reconnect the wires on both sides. It took a few peroids to test wire currents. Then around the end of the Second Peroid they turned the bell system back on. What no one knew was I connected the Bell System into the Fire Alarm system. It turns out the wires was suppose to cross the roof of the tunnel. After a few peroids of everyone going outside when the bells went off they turned the bell system off. In the middle of fourth peroid, I asked to speak with my Teacher in the Hall and explained the wire problem to her. She sent me to the Office to let them know. So, they had me put my overalls on again, go back in to rewire and like before take a shower in the gym. During lunch the Staff discussed the situilation and decided to call that the senior prank. After lunch there was the customary anonoucement asking for information on who was responible. In years past the pranks were quite destructive. I will cover them in the next few posts.

The destructive pranks of prevous senior classes.

1) They took the Principals Volkswagen apart and put it together over his Desk. Same year they picked it up and put it between two trees, so he could not drive it anywhere. He had me after school cut down the trees. One wing of the school was being built, so they used the Boom Lift to put his car on the roof of the school. I was given a short lession how to use it to get his car off the roof after school. Someone stole his engine. It turned up on something like this ---- What is this called?
