Yes. How does someone take that verse and add, someone must be baptized in liquid water before they're saved?

John 1:1.In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
...14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son[d] from the Father, full of grace and truth.

That has nothing to do with requirement for baptism.

I Corinthians 1:
13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul? 14I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15so no one can say that you were baptized into my name. 16Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that I do not remember if I baptized anyone else. 17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
To say water baptism is not required according to Paul's words is to take the scripture out of context. This is known because Paul, himself, was told to be baptized in order for his sins to be washed away. (Acts 22:16) And the word confirms Paul did administer water baptisms. (Acts 19:1-7, Acts 16:14-15, Acts 16:28-33) Paul's comment about the few people he baptized pertained to the Corinthian church to whom the letter was addressed. And in the case of Crispus, whom Paul specifically mentions baptizing, we see Crispus' family and other Corinthians were also baptized at that time. (1 Corinthians 1:14-16, Acts 18:8) In light of this information it is most likely Paul's comment pertained to his primary ministry being to preach while at times he had others administer the baptisms.

The thief on the cross was baptized in the name of the Father because he repented and took ownership of his wrongdoing. He was baptized in the name of the Son because he believed in Jesus and salvation through Him. He was baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit because Jesus assured him of his salvation. Thus, not water baptism, but baptism in the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, and in the name of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus commanded the apostles to baptize people in the NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The only baptism administered by man per Jesus' command is water baptism.

John wrote, "For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 No mention of baptism.

And Paul wrote, "For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 No mention of baptism.

If baptism saves people, then how come everyone baptized by John the Baptizer wasn't saved?

Mark 1:4, "And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins." So they were saved and didn't need Jesus, correct?

Clearly, remission/forgiveness of sins does not mean people are saved. There is remission/forgiveness of sins from the first animal sacrifice in the Old Testament, but those people were not saved.

Regarding Paul, he was saved directly by Jesus on His way to Damascus. His baptism was a ritual, symbolically burying the "old man". That is the case for everyone who is baptized.

Romans 6:4-8, "Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may live a new life.

For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will certainly also be united in the likeness of his resurrection. We know that our old man was crucified with him so that the body of sin would no longer dominate us, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For someone who has died has been freed from sin.)

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him."

Scripture clearly and unmistakably says that baptism -- immersion in water -- is a symbolic ritual expressing the death of the old, sinful person. It cannot save anyone!

In my own case, I was saved and healed by Jesus in the hospital. I received the Holy Spirit and two days later received my prayer language, a.k.a., began speaking in tongues. Two weeks later, I was baptized by a pastor in a local lake. I was already saved!!!

This was similar to Paul's experience. We were both Jews to whom Jesus miraculously revealed Himself, and we were baptized at a later date.

You can believe what you want; it's irrelevant to me. I know the truth!
As referenced in scripture, obedience to water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus and receiving the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are two parts that make up the whole known as the NT spiritual rebirth. (John 3:3-5) Receiving the Holy Spirit does not automatically occur during water baptism as scripture study confirms. God filled people with His Spirit at different times. The sequence differs as witnessed in the word. The thing that was consistent is water baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit were both required. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7, 22:16)

Agreed.

Again...

All Scripture!!!

You are taking John 3:16 out of context. It begins at John 3:1.

We are saved by grace THROUGH faith. Faith in what God said and obedience to it. As James explained faith without works is dead,

John the Baptist introduced the baptism of repentance for remission of sin that was later modified to include the name of Jesus. Both repentance, and obedience to water baptism was to be done for remission of sin in association with Jesus' sacrifice.

Water baptism does wash one's sins away, as John showed the world when he baptized people in the Jordan. As I said earlier, animal sacrifices also "washed" one's sins away. And of course the ultimate removal of sins occurred when Jesus was sacrificed on the cross.

However, as you said correctly in your last sentence, belief is what removes your sins: the acceptance that Christ's sacrifice removed your sins and everyone else for all time.

Baptism does not save anyone! If that was true, then Jesus' sacrifice was pointless! All anyone had to do was go to John, have him dunk you in the river, and volia, you're saved. Scriptures mean what they say!
Being obedience to God's command to be water baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of one's sins without believing in the sacrifice of Jesus is what would be pointless.

Baptism saves.

Baptism is Required

Peter 3: 21.... whereunto even baptism doth also now save us...

John 3:5 .......Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Acts 2;38-....Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22;16... And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Galations 3:26...... For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

KJV Marrk 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

KJV Matthew 3:14... But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15. Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh us to fulfil all rightesousness. Then He suffered Him.

KJV Matthew 28:19..... Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:.

Acts 10;47-48...
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Acts 8:12-18: But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Acts 19:4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”

John 3; 22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

Quote from Billy Graham that is note worthy;
....Also, to clarify I did not say remission of sin takes place at repentance. Scripture makes it clear that it occurs upon obedience to water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. Each is a step of faith, along with receiving the Holy Ghost, in the process of one's spiritual rebirth

.."Paul explains the doctrinal significance of what occurs when one is baptized. His explanation is found in his letter to those who had already been obedient to the command.

Paul tells the Roman Christians what actually occurred when they were/are baptized; they were baptized into His death. Being buried with Jesus into His death resulted in their sin being destroyed.

Even though Paul explains this concept, the NEW AGE RELIGION TEACHING is......... that water baptism is nothing other than a mere public display.......... And that is so far removed from the truth.

Keep in mind that Satan knows if he can continue to perpetuate that lie ...... he can keep people from entering the kingdom of God. Thus He has proven scripture which says ...in the end times there will be ...great delusions.....they are here.

Conclusion....teaching that baptism is not necessary is violation of Rev. 22;19.... And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Also two other books of the Bible).

Luke 3:16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Matthew 3:13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" 15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. Acts 16: 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized.
Acts 22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’

Billy would have never said sins are forgiven only when immersed in liquid water.

Because Billy preached the words of God.

Acts 10:
Gentiles Hear the Good News
34 So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, 35 but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. 36 As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all), 37 you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, 40 but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear, 41 not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. 43 To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Isaiah 43:25 “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.''

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Malachi 3:6
“For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.''

Revelation 22:19 John wrote The Book of Revelation. It was that book he was referring to.

Because the new testament was not yet a book.

Jesus commanded the apostles to baptize people in the NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The only baptism administered by man per Jesus' command is water baptism.
Jesus never commanded water baptism. As a matter of fact, Jesus never baptized anyone with water and never commanded it. His baptisms are by preaching.

BTW, water baptism is not required for salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9, " For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast." Baptism in this instance is a "work".

Who said...only?

I don't follow you. I quoted a verse from Ephesians about how salvation is a gift of God. I didn't mention repentance.
Ok game playing...what did you say about baptism...which was the basis of my response?

You are guided by God's commandments. I am a born-again Christian and guided by the Holy Spirit.

John 16:13, "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come."

BTW, water baptism is not required for salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9, " For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast." Baptism in this instance is a "work".

...you are nor guided by God's commandments? ......wow!!!
