Does anyone know what's up with Steven Furtick? I was wondering if his denomination gave him a Vibram sole Boot to the back end or not. The reasons are that he became a Modalist or Oneness preacher. A denial of God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; three distinct Persons, One God. I John 5:7
Instead they believe that God manifest Himself in three different modes either as Father Or as Son or as Holy Spirit at different given times. All due kindness to my Apostolic neighbors, that's not Baptist doctrine. Why not transfer his membership to the Apostolic denomination?
They probably wouldn't want him.

Some sites say that he's a Southern Baptist convention member, so perhaps they wanted his churches $ and kept it on board?

Oh BTW, he also thinks that he is God!

Steven Furball proclaims he's God Almighty.

The full sermon is better than excerpts I think .

In fairness he was using what seems to be first person reference but was actually communicating the congregants are to see the holy spirit is in ''me'', that individual listening to the sermon.

All things in creation are of and from God. God made all things from 'himself' even though we objectify God as a gender being God is a Holy Spirit. The source for all in creation.

There is nothing made that is not of God. Even us.

So if he says he is God it is in the context of creation, created, creator. That is the Trinity of God's work.
Every atom in us is of God.

Never heard of him. Perhaps his name should be Steven Furtive?;)
A video I posted the other day just got me started. Then I thought of SF's statement.
"I Am God Almighty!!!"
Next thing I found looking that up was the above sermon.

The Moderator held onto it today to review before posting it publicly. Fair enough. I'd like his or her take on these statements of belief Furtick made too.

If you think I didn't get his correct meaning because I saw that portion out of context, I will reserve my further comments on him until watching more of that sermon.
The "I am God Almighty" reminded me of teachings the Crouches, Benny Hinn, TD Jakes, Joyce Meyer made. I thought maybe he was jumping into the modelist camp from Southern Baptist.
It's getting late now, so it'll have to wait until later this weekend.
Have a good one.

His "ministry" always seemed like one of the entertainment ministries, always caused a curled upper lip.

I think I know who you mean, but with him he does have a great and powerful healing ministry.

God will use anyone anywhere at anytime to further His gospel.
He was used, probably still is, in a strong healing ministry.

I dont watch any of the mega churches on you tube. I used to and liked them at one stage but then I realised it was a business and the pastor/preacher was treated like a celebrity. The audience was hanging onto his every word like he was God. Why not go to God yourself and see what he has to say to you personally by the Holy Spirit.
Some of the music is nice but unfortunately they become like concerts and the singers are also treated like celebrities. It seems man can never get things right.

We all come to Him as we are, but we don't stay where we are, those stages of growth are wonderful to go through, "go through"!, as we don't stop at salvation and rest there, His Own continue to grow in Him, and some even grasp that we need to go to Him each and very personally, He said "my sheep hear my voice", He DIDN'T say "My sheep watch my glitzy show", or "My sheep read my book".
bless you Miss Ruby, you have ALWAYS had a sound and well grounded faith, soon the temptations of this world to lose sight of His truth will be in the past.:):coffee::unsure:(y)

According to the Southern Baptist Convention website, the main campus in Ballantyne (Furtick's) is in the SBC; they have a lot of campuses though. I did a quick examination and it doesn't look like they are all in the SBC but I didn't check them all.

This says a lot about what the SBC has become.

it is no surprise and will not change until individuals change, what the SBC and others "have become" is the reflection of the members not doing what Christ commands, and won't change until each member returns to Biblical Christianity and stops hiding in the herd of goats.

Todd White Recently Repented Of Preaching A False Gospel For His Entire Ministry Of 16 Years.
2020

I am not a follower of any youtube preacher. Nor do I spend my time seeking out those mentioned. If any of them have repented for what they believe they did, then All Glory to God. I rejoice with them.
