He was a false one.
Works salvation instead of grace.
Apparently he had preached at the nursing home for a while. It was after a volunteer banquet. The program director handed him a certificate of appreciation as she said that Brother John is the one minister that she doesn't agree with much. Lol! 😄

Isaiah 44:8Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Certificate of appreciation. We appreciate you're LEAVING! 😋😆

but if you watch the video about TD Jakes + Furtick, Jakes specifically says Manifestations to him is the same as persons is to the "tradition of men's description of the Trinity."

that is new to me.

so does that means Jakes is saying God is Triune, but instead 3 persons God is still 3 but manifestations?

i wonder if he is using these Verses as his reasoning?
1 John 3:5 And ye know that he [[((was manifested))]] to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
+
3:8 .......
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
or
1 timothy 3:16 God was manifest in the flesh, .....

i would like to know what he is trying to say!

Dollar makes my skin crawl.
Beware a preacher whose name amounts to 🤑 money.

BSB Version]
John 10:31At this, the Jews again picked up stones to stone Him. 32But Jesus responded, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone Me?” 33“We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, declare Yourself to be God.” 34Jesus replied, “Is it not written in your Law: ‘I have said you are gods’? 35If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken— 36then what about the One whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world? How then can you accuse Me of blasphemy for stating that I am the Son of God?

Psalm 82:6
I have said, ‘You are gods;
you are all sons of the Most High.’

Have you noticed all those 'god pays you to love him preachers repenting of the "Prosperity Gospel'' are millionaires for it?

Yet not a one has said as part of their repentance they're going to use all those wrongly begotten monies to lift up the needy in their church?

Ente the parking lot of a PG church and you'll know exactly who pastors that church. Theirs is the only hundreds of thousands of dollars car in the place.

Jake's is the 'spiritual advisor' to Oprah.

He does have some pretty good inspirational quotes out there.

"Forgiveness is about empowering yourself, rather than empowering your past."

"When people walk away from you, let them go. Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you, and it doesn't mean they are bad people. It just means that their part in your story is over."

I noticed that the rich mega church pastors are covetous and greedy, have jets, homes for their families in the mega millions. .

They found the use of temptations alluring and manipulative. There's a technique they use that goes way back to Genesis 3. The devil still uses it, but refined it since then.

I found that the richer churches typically are not as generous as the small poorer country churches.

Bluesproverb,

Glad you looked this up. I did not hear teaching on these passages as a young man in church and when I ran across the NT passage reading through the Bible, I'd scratch my head and wonder what Jesus was talking about. I started with what I knew and then searched for any parallel passages that might shed light on the statement.
You already found that. Good.

Agreed. The profit gospel is utterly worldly and of natural man.

Have you looked up the reported net worth of the profit teachers?

It makes it easier when they brag to know what they're really about.

interesting read. i suppose Jakes is correct that God in the flesh never said the Holy Spirit and the Father are persons. He did say God is Spirit. and there's tons of Scripture that denote any one of them as His/Him/He. and i guess Biblically speaking, as Jakes points out, if they are Manifestations, they are of the One God [[((who is MALE))]] so any reference to God is always going to be male referenced as (He/Him/His) even through manifestation.

hmmm, i just wonder what he's trying to prove here. the council who made creeds are human and they used words not found in the Bible?

it's really odd, because how he explains it, he claims he can identify as Trinitarian or Oneness because both views God is still Triune.

this is probably the most unique way of claiming his beliefs, or of such beliefs, that i have ever heard before and i was raised Pentecostal and know the sects.

I'll have more later, but for now I'll just say that White never said he repented of preaching prosperity. I don't know where people are getting this. All he said was that he felt he hadn't been preaching the full gospel. He said he was going to start preaching sin more and the need for grace. Whether he actually followed through on this I don't know.

which makes John 14:10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own; but the Father dwelling in Me does His works. even more dynamic.

The Father is in Heaven while DWELLING inside the physical body of Jesus and Jesus tells us the Father is doing this [[((The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own; but the Father dwelling in Me does His works))]]

does that mean when Jesus prayed to the Father it was the Father, who was The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own; but the Father dwelling in Me does His works ...praying to Himself and using Jesus as an example for us to pray to the Father?

even when Jesus cast out the DEMON the pharisees said Jesus did it by Satan, Jesus said by the Holy Spirit and the Pharisees were in danger of Blasphemy.

so just maybe Furtick and TD Jakes is thinking like these Verses read and making their conclusions.

one never knows.

but it is different to hear what they are saying!
The three persons do indeed share a common nature. All are good and all are God. They are one in a sense, but not to the exclusion of their three-ness.

This is an interview with Todd white in which he explains his repentance. He doesn't say anything about the prosperity gospel. The actual interview starts at 4:13.

I listened to all of it and unless I missed it, he didn't give a salvation testimony or define what he meant by the word he used over and over again. Thanks for posting though.
I still think he's confused from the way he talks. "Full" gospel? I've heard that before by those who throw away the rest of the Bible definition to the lost for one isolated verse out of context. I'm not saying that is what you believe, Allen. You're simply doing me a favor by posting this testimony on the subject.
It just seems like that's what he is squirreling around to trying to maybe say, like kinda something like that's the way he feels about the full gospel that he's repented to be profoundly touched by the power of ...you know ? Lol.😉

Agreed and i am not really sure we know how it really works. but even thinking in terms of person or manifestations, not one of them is doing anything on their own will. everything is done as the Will of One God.

on a side note, i was very guilty of always saying person. but i spent much of last night and there is absolutely no indication that they should be called persons. there's one Verse saying God is Spirit, and several saying how God manifested Himself.

i just know God is Triune. Father-Son (WORD)- Holy Spirit. other than that, i don't really know that it matters if you did say manifestation. it's what the Bible said. maybe TD Jakes is correct. I don't really know. a manifestation of God would always be He/His/Him. maybe we should go by what the Bible says over what the RCC Council said towards the Trinity?

Yup, in my Book, the Bible, it eliminated the need to trust any council or multimillionaire TV preachers. I'm with you about the Trinity.
I think this thread opens up a far more important point than that of simply another TV preacher who has a prosperity gospel. T.D. Jake's has an motivational collection of greeting cards I've read. However, he rejects the major fundamental doctrines of Who exactly God is. He is confused on a lot of major teachings.
I think anyone with an open mind to God's Word will benefit from the series of brief teaching on the Lord, our Triune God. I hope you enjoy it.

that leads to so many questions, that video. Jesus said if you seen Him you saw the Father - if you see the Father you see Jesus. that is opposite of what Anderson just said. Jesus also said the Father dwelled inside Him doing the talking and works. so anyone talking to Jesus is theoretically talking to the Father according John 14:10.

the other 2 obvious questions are has anyone seen the Holy Spirit? how do you see a Spirit?
or, Jesus said God is Spirit. how do you see a Spirit?

like i said, i went to bed about 5 am just studying.

i definitely believe 3 in 1, but not so convinced any more there's a real difference between person and manifestation.

Hello Everyone!

I realize that there's some confusion with Mr. Furtick about the gospel of how someone gets saved. I've already posted a bunch of videos on the subject, but feel free to ask if you have trouble finding those.

Two more issues that arise from this thread are that of whether or not the TV preachers are "God Almighty" AND that of Who exactly God is. Is He One God in three Person's as the KJV summarizes in I John 5:7, OR is does He manifest in various personages as was illustrated by wearing different hats, so to speak?....ie. modalism teaches that the Father is the Holy Spirit, Who is also Jesus. I DO NOT believe that, but many TV preachers do as some who have attended my Bible studies/ sermons.
I will post this separately some time as it's own thread, but for the edification of those who have kindly been a part of this thread, I will post a handful of"Trinity Moments" by Steven Anderson. They are a little over a minute or two long in bite sized pieces. I like the format and how he breaks the subject down. Sometimes a series is better than a long sermon if the topic is as established as this one.

To your health and happiness!
