Your statements about the McMartin Preschool trial and satanic ritual abuse are so diametrically opposed to the facts that I can’t tell if you are trying to be deceptive or just astonishingly misinformed.
You are right, the McMartin preschool trial was the longest and most expensive trial in U.S. history. All charges were eventually dropped because of ZERO evidence. It was determined the children’s accusations resulted from leading questions asked by unqualified inquisitors. These events occurred at the height of the SRA (Satanic Ritual Abuse) panic. There were dozens of individuals that spent time in prison from similar panic driven nonsense. Eventually, almost all of these victims were acquitted and exonerated.
So prevalent were these situations that the FBI was compelled to investigate. After an eight-year investigation, they issued the preliminary report in 1989 if memory serves, and the final in 1992. Following is a link to the U.S. government website where the report can be found:
https://www.ojp.gov/pdffiles1/Digitization/136592NCJRS.pdf
I would encourage you to read the report, although I am certain you will not. You can lead a horse to water but…
At the conclusion of the report, it states:
“For at least eight years American law enforcement has been aggressively investigating the allegations of victims of ritual abuse. There is little or no evidence for the portion of their allegations that deals with large-scale baby breeding, human sacrifice, and organized satanic conspiracies. Now it is up to mental health professionals, not law enforcement, to explain why victims are alleging things that don't seem to have happened.”
Nearly all or all the children from the McMartin preschool claimed there was a network of tunnels under the school grounds where supposed atrocities occurred. The parents of these children were so convinced their children’s claims were true, they paid a contractor to excavate the property to find them. Guess what they found? Nothing. Even after this, many parents would not accept the facts.
Beliefs acquired from fear or desire are emotionally anchored and difficult to dislodge.
You seem like a bright guy. Why don’t you take the time to investigate the facts? I might also recommend an important book that deals with the SRA panic in depth. It's titled:
Second Thoughts, Understanding the False Memory Crisis and How it Could Affect You
The author is Dr. Paul Simpson, psychologist, and was all in on the SRA panic. He relates how he thought he was doing God’s work by treating people who thought they had been subjected to SRA. After a long transition period, he realized he was wrong and went back to all his patients to try to undo the damage. It is a remarkable story of true repentance, and he is a Christian.
You actually suggested to someone they might be under a marriage curse. You are a fair writer and intelligent. That person or others might mistakenly think you know what you are talking about. Another book I would suggest is:
The Deliverance Delusion, Exposing The Curse Deliverance Myth by Patrick Rhodes.
The author details that generational curses in the Bible were quite rare, they only come from God, and Exodus 20:5 is not a reference to them, i.e. the sins of the fathers etc.
James 3:1 says: Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
